Listen to Albert Van Abbe’s Sugar Lobby Series sweetener

Albert Van Abbe steps away from his own “synaesthetic media” platform No Comment with a dancefloor tailored release for Curle Recordings 42nd release.

The Dutchman powered through a prolific 2012 with five self released EPs on No Comment as well his debut album Patch For Series ‘Active Mutations Of Self-reproducing Networks’, showcasing his electro-experimental smarts of the Raster-Noton variety. Writing in his Separate Minds column earlier this week, Richard Brophy described the Sugar Lobby Series as upbeat and less reflective than his No Comment work, but Albert Van Abbe’s first release for 2013 still ventures deep into Poseidon’s realm with an array of dour atmospherics and synthesised oddities, combing the lighter side of Clark’s sullen synth work with a curtailed version of Eduardo de la Calle’s bleepy techno material.

Curle Recordings commissioned Kanding Ray for a remix of the track “9090”, listing him alongside an esteemed list of producers privvy to remix Abbe’s work which also includes Sleeparchive, Conforce, Abdulla Rashim and Convextion.

Curle Recordings will release Sugar Lobby Series by Albert Van Abbe on February 11.
