Delsin start new House Series with Gerry Read
The ever excellent Dutch label Delsin Records are on the cusp of expanding operations with the launch of a new offshoot focusing specifically on house music – with rising talent Gerry Read lined up for the debut release.
The Suffolk based 19-year-old seemingly emerged from nowhere over the past twelve months sporting a fully formed sound which across a trilogy of excellent 12″s for Ramp Recordings offshoot Fourth Wave – along with material for 2nd Drop – showcased his talent for crafting rough and ready house and techno replete with off kilter but brilliantly executed samples. We needed little persuading to collar him for our podcast series and he delivered possibly the most thumping mix in the series yet.
His debut release for Delsin, entitledYeh Come Dance and set for release in early March, contains four tracks that naturally further showcase his talents as described above, and the title track and “Crawlspace” in particular sound very effective. This promises to be the first of several releases from Read this year, which should include a debut album on 4th Wave at some point.
Whilst Delsin are yet to officially announce what this house focused imprint will be called we have been informed that it will also be releasing material from Soul 223 aka sometime Applied Rhythmic Technology and Peacefrog artist Steve Pickton.
Delsin Records will release Yeh Come Dance by Gerry Read across 12″ and digital formats on March 5.
