Watch: Joe Goddard – Gabriel

Joe Goddard’s new jam “Gabriel” has become somewhat lodged in our affections since a promo graced our desks earlier this summer, and a chance to fully bask in its infectious qualities is afforded by this new video.

The track is the centrepiece of Goddard’s new EP of the same name, released in transatlantic cahoots with DFA and Greco Roman last month, and marks a fine return to solo releasing form for a man who has naturally been quite busy with Hot Chip and 2 Bears commitments of late. Directed by the Utile Creative collective, the suitably colourful array of Rorschach test-like patterns that emerge throughout the video are the perfect accompaniment to a track that features some delightfully off kilter vocals from Greco Roman mainstay Valentina.

Additionally, be on the look out for a forthcoming Gabriel Remix EP from the Greco Roman stable that features revisions from the ledge that is Seiji, Juan Maclean under his new jacking Peach Melba alias, Compound One and Lightworks/Hyperdub talent Ossie.
