Discodeine’s Jarvis Cocker hookup gets video
Discodeine feat. Jarvis Cocker – Synchronize from Pschent on Vimeo.
Discodeine’s Jarvis Cocker-featuring single – the closest ever recorded embrace between Britpop and disco – has been given its own video ahead of the French duo’s album release in March.
Central to the clip, directed by JF Julian, is the appearance of Cocker himself, who of course pulls off his scraggy chic look with aplomb.
The single was released amid much fanfare in December via both the D*I*R*T*Y and DFA imprints (the former via splendid 10″ collectable vinyl), while the track will also feature on the aforementioned album, which sees a clutch of original new material from Messrs Pilooski and Pentile alongside further collaborations with South American house aficionado Matias Aguayo and Closer Musik’s Baxter Dury.
Meanwhile, we heartily recommend that those of you who will be in Paris on February 11 attend the star studded album launch party featuring Discodeine, Optimo, Tim Sweeney, Tristesse Contemporaine and more TBA. Details here.
