Young Turks announce Creep EP
Ace London imprint Young Turks continue their bid for world domination with the release of “Days”, a debut single from Creep which features a vocal contribution from The xx’s Romy and some Juno Plus approved remixers.
Creep are Brooklyn based DJ/producer duo Lauren Dillard and her namesake Flax and you may recall them getting caught up in a recent scandal involving Pitchfork, The New York Press and an ill advised description of Salem.
“Days” is due out early next year and could potentially prove a break through for the so called Witch House genre they’ve been sucked into (hey if you’re gonna put a big old crucifix on the cover art) thanks to the presence of Romy Madley Croft. To get a taste of what to expect you can hear the track in it’s spectral entirety here, and there is the bonus of some remixes from Azari & III and Deadboy to get all excited about (We’re currently obsessing over the latter’s Drake edit)
Subsequent to the release of “Days” on January 25, Creep will drop a collaboration with NYC twin R&B act Nina Sky with a full album and a collaboration with DFA types Planningtorock due later in 2011.
With Jamie xx set to release his eagerly awaited Gil Scott-Heron remix project next year too we are currently speculating what remaining xx member Oli Sims has been up to – possibly counting the big pile of royalties scrilla from licensing their tracks to all and sundry?
