XOYO postpones launch
The launch of new East London nightspot XOYO has been delayed due to “unforeseen technical issues” cited by the club’s owners.
Last night’s launch party featuring Everything Everything, Andrew Weatherall and Dan Beaumont was called off at short notice, while tonight’s Dan Deacon show has been moved to Fabric. The planned Friday event (hosted by Smash & Grab) has been moved to East Bloc on City Rd (more details on that here). The venue hopes to open in time for Saturday’s Bugged Out! showcase with Friendly Fires and L-Vis 1990.
A statement posted on the club’s Facebook page read: “With regret, XOYO is having to postpone its launch due to unforeseen technical issues at the venue. XOYO apologises sincerely for any inconvenience this may cause people planning to attend this evening The team are aiming for this to be resolved within the next 24 hours and all ticket holders will be refunded. More information will be announced shortly on the opening of the venue.”
The creative team behind Field Day (EYOE, AITBF, Bugged Out) are responsible for XOYO, which is housed over two floors on Cowper St, near Old St tube station.
