Free download: Tiga remixes the xx

The Planet Turbo warriors will be taking the stage this weekend at the London Electronic Dance festival, and to celebrate label tzar Tiga is giving away a free remix of Mercury Prize nominees the xx.

Inspired by Basic Channel, the remix of “Shelter” is deep and crackly with a sub bass drone that has “teary end of night closer” written all over it.

Always quick with a quote, here’s what Tiga had to say about the remix, which suggests that the track may indeed by used to unite the lovers in the crowd at L.E.D.

“There’s just something special about making out in London, your mouth bursting with toffee and emotion, that ugly ferris wheel thing looming in the distance,” he muses.

“This remix is a love letter to British Romance, from the heart of a Canadian Revolutionary.”
