Free track: Abe Duque “Bumble Bee”
Techno and acid house kingpin Abe Duque will release a bumper compilation next month featuring his classic remixes, original work and a sprinkling of brand new material.
Live … And On Acid is billed as Duque’s career-spanning retrospective in reverse – starting with a live set of new material and ending with the classic acid and old-school house with which he DJed at his first performances.
Duque started off producing and DJing in early 90s New York, releasing on his own Tension and Hollis Haus imprints as well as Disko B, Rapture! and Tresor.
He earned a stellar underground reputation, although it wasn’t until his breakthrough single with Blake Baxter “What Happened” that a wider audience took notice. This earned him a piece of the spotlight and he was soon commissioned to remix the likes of Chemical Brothers, Pet Shop Boys, DJ Hell and Miss Kittin.
The compilation will hit the shelves on August 16 via History Records – but to tide you over until then, we’ve got this freebie just for you:
