Fly Lo to perform live film score at Tate Modern

The wonder that is Flying Lotus will showcase the full breadth of his musical prowess with three very disparate live shows in London this August.

Fly Lo – real name Steven Ellison – will kick things off with a club-friendly show with his Brainfeeder crew at the Hearn St Car Park in east London on Saturday, August 14.

The is will be followed two days later (Monday, August 16) when Ellison performs a live score of Harry Smith’s 1962 avant garde film Heaven and Earth Magic. Then it’s off to the ICA for a live show featuring players from his recent Cosmogramma LP, including a travelling team of players from Cosmogramma including Ravi Coltrane, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Rebekah Raff and many more. Ticket details below.

And be sure to check out the above short film – made by Flying Lotus – called ‘Inside The Codex: The Art of Cosmogramma’ featuring artist Leigh J. McCloskey.

Cosmogramma has already gone down as one of 2010’s most important albums – check out our review here and our interview with the man himself here.
