MCDE cancels London show
Motor City Drum Ensemble’s highly anticpated performance at London’s Plastic People has been cancelled due to the blanket flying ban prompted by the volcanic eruption in Iceland.
Weekend DJ performances across the UK are expected to be affected by the ban, with dozens of big name performers due to play across the country this weekend.
This message from the MCDE’s promoter was sent to ticket holders:
“Due to the current situation in Iceland with the Volcano erupting causing volcanic ash to spread across the UK and Europe resulting in UK airspace being shut down, Danilo AKA Motor City Drum Ensemble won’t be able to fly in for the Plastic People gig for tonight. This is completely out of our hands and we did look at every possible way of getting him to London but unfortunately none were possible at such late notice.
“However fear not we have been on a mission in the last 24 hours at Warm HQ to bring you a brand new line-up which comprises of London’s finest talent who are also stranded due to these crazy circumstances.
“So stepping in for tonight for one night only will be Aus and Simple head boss, Mr Will Saul and alongside him Crosstown Rebels very own, Mr Jamie Jones.”
So it’s not all bad – local DJs to the rescue!
