Featured DJ Chart: Chubby Dubz
Chubby Dubz is a German/US production team consisting of Oliver $ and Gene Siewing – two men with a shared passion for quality underground music. Having just dropped their 31 Flavours EP on Ornate Music, we managed to coax a featured chart out of them for February. As charts go this has a definite classicist tilt, with a few new gems thrown in for good measure. Enjoy…
1. Jimpster/Palm Skin Productions/Only Freak – Freerange 100 (Part Two) (Freerange)
“What can we say? Other than pure quality! We still have the orginal in the box and it ain’t going nowhere. Big props to Jimpster. One of the best producers right now.”
2. Chubby Dubz – 31 Flavours EP (Ornate)
“Yeah, diggin’ it.”
3. Amplified Orchestra – The Shake Up Connection (Amplified)
“Sounds like house music we used to know and that we are so glad to hear again. Chicago house is our roots. Great EP.”

5. Motor City Drum Ensemble – Raw Cuts 5 & 6 (MCDE)
“Wow! This guy hit it right on the head. To be honest, the one producer who captured the ‘sound of house’ as we know and love it.”

“I remember house. Shall we say it again?? Nuff said.”
7. Baaz – Woodland Drive EP (STHLM Audio)

10. Cajmere – Brighter Days (Cajual)
“We are speechless. The first record we heard that was called “House Music” had his name and logo on it.”
