Resident Advisor’s top DJ of 2009

Minus boss Richie Hawtin has been named the world’s number one DJ in Resident Advisor’s “Best of 2009” readers poll, ahead of Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano.

It’s the same top three at last year, although in 2008 it was Villalobos who pipped Hawtin to the post.

The remainder of this year’s top 10 consisted of Loco Dice, Marcel Dettmann, Sven Väth, Dixon, Seth Troxler, Magda and Joris Voorn.

The results show that minimal techno still reigns in the world of RA readers, although a number of promising house producers – including Motor City Drum Ensemble and Jus Ed – did well in the poll, suggesting the house renaissance is set to continue in 2010.
