Strictly Rhythm unearth Lost Tapes
Strictly Rhythm’s earliest DJ mixes – featuring the likes of ‘Little’ Louis Vega, Armand Van Helden, Tony Humphries and Lil Louis – are being re-released to celebrate the label’s 20th anniversary.
Recorded when Vega, Van Helden et al were fledgling DJs in New York, the “Lost Tapes” were the first ever DJ mixes to be commercially released on CD.
The first two mixes – out now on Juno Download – are Vega’s set at the Underground Network in NYC and Humphries’ 1993 special Strictly Rhythm recording.
Keep an eye out for the mixes from Lil Louis and Armand Van Helden, coming soon.
