Marcos Cabral enters The Conversation
Preview the New Yorker’s stomach churning debut for Crème Organization.
It’s getting difficult to keep tabs on the output from DJ TLR’s Crème as the label accelerates through its 15th year of upsetting the norm but a debut from Marcos Cabral has stopped us in our tracks. The positive response to Cabral’s Chemotex project on The Trilogy Tapes seems to have stirred a whole new level of darkness in the veteran New Yorker that is resulting in some startling, brutalist examples of sound design.
Cabral’s upcoming Buried Alive Twice album for L.I.E.S. is truly mind bending from what we have heard and he’s on similarly grinding form with the Conversation EP for Crème. Due next month, the four track 12″ can be previewed below and sees some nightmarish, dissonant frequencies deployed at a crawling knackered house pace. The accompanying ghoulish artwork seems all too appropriate.
