Premiere – Theory Of Movement’s loving homage to classic deep house, ‘Motion Of Objects’
Poetry in ‘Motion…’

After a two-year hiatus, Dan Piu and Grant’s Theory of Movement project returns to When The Morning Comes with four new tracks paying ‘masterful homage’ to classic deep house.
Their previous EP, ‘Parade Musicale’, became a highly sought-after collection of connoisseur-level house music when it emerged in May 2023, and we can see the ‘Structural’ EP becoming just as in demand.
It’s expected out on April 21, but Piu (pictured, above) and Grant (pictured, below) have kindly shared its closing track ‘Motion Of Objects’, with Juno Daily readers right now. Quite the listen it is too, with soothing deep house pads and a solid groove framework, all embellished with an inspired sprinkling of Sheffield-style bleepery and warm sub-bass shenanigans.

“The track is a more modern sounding track that our usual TOM tracks but still retaining elements of old school house. It rounds the record off nicely to give a bit more diversity,” the pair told us.
Of the new EP, they comment: “This record, like all music we make as Theory of movement, is an ode to what we envision as house, with respect to what has been done and looking into its possible evolution.
“We like to keep it deep, dreamy and atmospheric, always aiming to capture emotion and movement in sound. Our approach is about letting the music breathe naturally, allowing subtle imperfections and organic textures to shape the final result.”
