The forthcoming NTS-3 model is the latest version of a legendary effects unit.
Word from Korg UK is that the hotly anticipated NTS-3 Kaoss Pad is set to ship on September 10th. The NTS-3 is the first Kaoss Pad to be released as part of Korg’s Nu:Tekt range, meaning that it comes in the form of a self-assembly kit (no soldering required) and can be heavily customised. The NTS-3 offers up to four simultaneous effects, MIDI sync and control, plus an open development API and logueSDK if you want to create your own effects.
Originally released in 1999, the Kaoss Pad range quickly became popular with everyone from Brian Eno to Radiohead. Featuring hands-on control via an X-Y touch pad, Kaoss Pads made it intuitive and creative to apply effects in real time, including sampling and overdubbing.

The Korg NTS-3 Kaoss Pad is available to pre-order now, priced at £159.
