Premiere: DMX Krew lays down some irresistible electro futurism with ‘Depressed Mutant’
Cheer up mate – you’re being premiered on Juno Daily

DMX Krew, the original moniker by which the world came to know Ed DMX’s cheeky electro brilliance, is back with a new five track, mutant-themed EP on the still fledgling but increasingly essential No Static/Automatic label.
This time out, our reviewer notes, the ‘Brain Mutants’ EP blends electro with bass, acid and techno and opens up with the squelchy 303s and prickly beats of ‘Mutated Brain Process’ before ‘Electric Mutant’ layers up whirring machines and jerking drum patterns. while ‘Non-Euclidean Coordinates’ is a high-speed and physical workout with low end menace. ‘Tunnel Mutant’ is the EP’s most acidic of the five tunes and the superb closer ‘Depressed Mutant’ might just be the best of the lot with its withering sci-fi motifs and alien sounds, kinetic electro beats and otherwordly vibes.
We decided to ask, with our trademark manners and good grace, very nicely whether we could bring ‘Depressed Mutant” to our readers ahead of its release on June 17 and, guess what, our politeness only paid off.
