Exclusive – first view of Greg Foat and Gigi Masin performing ‘Sabena’ from Dolphin album
Pair share studio footage of ‘Sabena’ being recorded
Greg Foat and Gigi Masin have given Juno Daily readers the first view of a performance video of a track from their collaborative album.
Leading jazz pianist Foat and electronica artist Masin play ‘Sabena’, one of eight tracks on the Dolphin album, due out on Strut Records.
Dolphin utilises “an electric piano, sounds from my digital library and an old iPad2” (Masin) and “grand piano, vibraphone and lots of vintage synthesizers” (Foat), with the former’s melancholy melodies meeting the latter’s laid back, slo-mo grooves.
The album was developed remotely before culminating in some recording sessions in the stunning surroundings of Chale Abbey on the Isle Of Wight, with the additional talents of Moses Boyd on drums, Tom Herbert on bass and Siobhan Cosgrove on flute.
This performance was filmed at London’s Fish Factory studios,
Pre-order the album – due out June 16 – in indie exclusive limited clear vinyl, black vinyl and CD form, by clicking on the relevant link.
