Ryder’s new band is Mantra of the Cosmos

Shaun Ryder has launched his new band Mantra of the Cosmos with a psychedelic video and a surprise London show last night (June 5).

The band played a set to invited industry bigwigs at The Box in Soho, revealing a line up which includes Zak Starkey and Andy Bell alongside longtime Happy Mondays companion Bez.

Today, they followed the appearance by uploading a psychedelic video for ‘Gorilla Guerilla’, a dubby beat-driven dance track low on lyrics but big on echoes and trippy guitars.

The band are also playing Glastonbury Festival, their only other confirmed live date so far.
