Listen to the Unit 18 EP’s tearing title track – if you’re brave enough

Renowned DJ/producer Ploy (pictured) has shared a track from his forthcoming EP ‘Unit 18’ exclusively with Juno Daily.
‘Unit 18’ is the title track from three the EP, out via his own label Deaf Test on July 1,, 2022.
Venue MOT Unit 18 – based in Bermondsey, South London – is home to many seminal London parties at the vanguard of the UK’s clubbing scene, including Ploy’s own Deaf Test. The parties have informed heavily on Ploy’s productions, and vice versa: “These are three rave tracks, all influenced by sound system culture, with my take on different styles, made for various times of the early hours in our sweaty venue”, he comments.

Ploy told us: “This second record for the label was made to capture the rogue intensity of Venue MOT, the best venue in London. Ravey but hopefully not pastiche, dark but not dull and capturing the energy of being inside the venue for 16 hours straight, like I was on New Year’s Eve this year.”
Last year Ploy launched a new club night – also called Deaf Test – at London’s MOT Unit 18, where he has been accompanied by Parris, Mad Miran, Pearson Sound and Silvia Kastel. These in-demand events kept its DJs secret until the night. “I’m keeping guests under-wraps to build a party that isn’t reliant on headliners to shift tickets, but is based on trust in quality, with a regular community that come regardless of knowing who’s playing”, Ploy pledged.
