Wide Awake announces 2022 festival lineup: Yard Act, Primal Scream, Overmono, Connan Mockasin, Sofia Kourtesis…

The hipster’s favourite – linked to Brixton’s legendary Windmill venue – is back

London’s Wide Awake festival has announced its 2022 lineup and schedule.

Unlike last year’s event being held in late September and restricted to just a day due to the knock-on effects of COVID-19 rules, this year’s Wide Awake is set to take place over the two dates of May 27-28.

Primal Scream are set to headline, and are anticipated to play the entirety of their classic album ‘Screamadelica’ for the first time in a decade. 

Channeling a clash of interrelated genres including electronic, post-punk, techno and jazz, the rest of the lineup includes Caribou, Bicep, Alex Cameron, Boy Harsher, Overmono, Katy J Pearson, The Comet Is Coming, The Horrors, Vladimir Ivkovic, Yard Act, Tropical Fuckstorm, Croatian Amor and Faye Webster.

As with every Wide Awake event, each day is weighted to emphasise respective genres, with friday’s line-up championing electronica and saturday’s prodividing more room for post-punk. 

Additionally, there will be numerous stages curated by different figureheads of the London music promotions scene, including Corsica Studios, Snap Crackle & Pop, and Bugged Out!
