Basic Rhythm shares video for tech-stepping tour de force ‘Dread’
The London producer unveils impressionist black and white promo
Basic Rhythm (Anthoney Hart) has shared the music video for his new track ‘Dread’, taken from his latest two-track split EP on Raw Basics.
‘Dread’ is a rip-roaring yet spacey throwback techstep track, recalling the genre’s harder-edged darkside ends.
The new EP draws directly on Hart’s childhood passions for jungle, which sparked his lifelong aptitude for music production as a whole. In the late ‘90s, Hart hosted a regular jungle and drum n’ bass radio show on the pirate station Rude FM, before venturing into broader musical horizons.
The video was made by Studio Ugly in Stuttgart, who made the previous video for Spring Back by Basic Rhythm & Lamont, and is inspired by Hart’s interest in Eastern and Central European stop motion animation, and new sci-fi / horror films like Begotten.
‘Dread’ comes before Hart’s final jungle EP for Planet Mu, as well as another drum n’ bass EP for Kid Drama’s CNVX label.
