Roland set to celebrate 50th anniversary
The iconic Japanese brand promises new products to celebrate.
Officially founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi in Osaka on April 18th, 1972, Roland Corporation went on to become one of the world’s biggest names in music technology. Over the decades, Roland have brought us everything from iconic drum machines (the 808, the 909…) to synths (Jupiters, Junos, the excellent Boutique range) and helped inspire a few genres along the way thanks to the legendary 303 of acid house and Space Echo of dub.
For the 50th anniversary celebrations, Roland CEO Jun-ichi Miki promises commemorative anniversary releases throughout the course of the year, including a ‘50th model’ on April 18th: “Since its foundation in 1972, the musical instrument manufacturer Roland has continued to develop epoch-making products, touching nearly every music genre and meeting the demands of creators all over the world. In 2022, we are thrilled to celebrate our 50th anniversary with you.”
Stay tuned for news on those special releases as soon as we have it. You can view the Roland range here.
