The new hardware controller works with the brand’s MPC 2 software.
Brand new from Akai Professional, the fully updated MPC Studio is an entry-level controller for the brand’s MPC 2 software, which runs on Mac or PC. The unit has the same name as the old MPC Studio, released in 2013, but it’s an entirely new design. The hardware itself features 16 MPC pads and an assignable touch strip controller, while the MPC 2 desktop software includes 10GB of new sound content. At a little over £200, the MPC Studio is the most affordable way to get into the world of MPC production, offering the iconic feel of Akai’s iconic sampler/sequencers.
The Akai Professional MPC Studio is available now, priced at £229.99. You can read our Brand Focus feature exploring Akai’s history here.
