Trentemoller announces new album Memoria – hear new single ‘In The Gloaming’ now

Trail of mysterious singles leads to new album in February

Danish composer, musician and producer Anders Trentemoller has returned with the announcement of his upcoming sixth studio album Memoria, which set for release via his own label In My Room in early 2022.

To compound the announcement, Trentemoller has released the album’s fourth single ‘In The Gloaming’, following up a mysterious bout of new singles including ‘No One Quite Like You’ and ‘Golden Sun’. It follows his 2019 album Obverse, which was an exploration of non-live performable music.

‘Memoria’ is intended to give the sensation of walking in the evening – a feeling described by the artist as ‘Nocturne’s dawning’ – and was inspired by a tumultuous relationship.

Trentemoller said of the new single: “‘In The Gloaming’ is a song about a difficult, ambiguous relationship. The feeling of being in love with a person who unconsciously drags you down, and how you try to find a way out of these unhealthy patterns. I wanted the song to have some kind of epic sound that underlines the big dilemma. Therefore, the huge drums, the wavy guitars and the anthem-like synth theme. This was the first time for me writing the lyrics and the vocal melody myself and Lisbet Fritze’s haunting vocals bring it all to life so beautifully.”
