The new mk5 model features a few important changes to improve sound quality.
There aren’t many music tech products that make it to a fifth-generation version, but MOTU have consistently updated their UltraLite interface since it was first introduced in 2007. The list of changes to the compact USB model is impressive this time around, with improved analogue inputs and a new DAC section for the analogue outputs. An updated CueMix 5 app controls everything.
You still get a huge 40 simultaneous in and out channels spread over a range of analogue and digital formats, plus metering via a clear OLED display on the front panel.
The MOTU UltraLite mk5 interface will be available this summer, priced at £599. Scroll down to watch MOTU’s setup videos.
