The hugely popular Eurorack brand adds a new module to the line-up.
Freshly announced from Mutable Instruments, the all-new Blades module is a dual multi-mode filter which can operate in serial, parallel or stereo. Everything can be controlled by CV, allowing Blades to work as a dual distortion, an oscillator mixer with crossfading and wavefolding, a voice or a complex oscillator capable of FM, PM and AM. It’s a totally different approach to Ripples, the brand’s existing four-pole filter. You can see it in action below.
Mutable founder Émilie Gillet wrote on Reddit in October that she “no longer [does] any R&D work for new modules” but mentioned that she had designed new modules back in 2019, hinting that there may also be a new version of the all-conquering Clouds module on the way soon.
