House Of Doors enters the Starcave
The Aquarian Foundation man goes solo for the ninth release from Mood Hut.
From the outside it looks like Layne Brown has hogged the best names to surface from the Mood Hut collective so far, issuing music as Bluntman Deejay, Dream Carpets (our favourite) and House Of Doors, in addition to his role in Aquarian Foundation. Last year saw Brown as one of the most active Mood Hutters, issuing The Dolphin Hotel Affair Vol. 1 on the Vancouver label as House of Doors, in addition to debuting on Future Times through a split 12″ with fellow AQN FDN member Kinetix Electronix. Furthermore, Brown donned his Bluntman Deejay alias for the excellent Esoteric (Real) EP on Glasgow’s home of electronic refinement, All Caps.
Fresh off seducing all with two slow burning gems from Pender Street Steppers, Mood Hut’s next release sees the return of House Of Doors in the shape of the three-track Starcave 12″. Due to arrive later this month, the record finds “the spiritual guide of the back rooms of 524 Main Street,” on fine form on the basis of the below previews, with lead track “Starcave” almostĀ sounding like a cover version of Liquid Liquid classic “Cavern”.
Mood Hut will release Starcave by House Of Doors on June 23.
