David James is the new, techno-leaning alias for the Mancunian producer better known as Trus’me, head of the excellent Prime Numbers imprint.

On Christmas Day the sounds of David James and his new 1redlight party concept were showcased with a thumping set in Singapore’s Avalon club, which you can stream below.

The robust, stripped back techno audible throughout the set marks a significant departure from the soul and funk-tinged deep house produced under the Trus’me moniker. We hinted at this new direction last year with a news piece revealing that techno cognoscenti Ben Klock and Norman Nodge had been commissioned to remix Trus’me material.
