In Yer Third Ear compilation announced
Established UK house and techno imprint Third Ear will celebrate ten years of business in the perfect fashion; by releasing their first ever compilation, entitled In Yer Third Ear 01 and set for release at the end of November.
The 22 track double CD set draws together a selection of tracks from across the label’s history – fully showcasing just how many classics Third Ear has in its discography – as well as slipping in some unreleased gems, and dispels any notions that the label is home to purely deep house staples.
The Theo Parrish classic “Falling Up” appears, perhaps so people can be reminded of its dusty cabinet charms as most are more familiar with the finely sculpted, epic remix from Carl Craig. Tracks from Wbeeza, Sarass, Demetrio Giannice and Kyle Hall ensure Third Ear’s recent endeavours are well documented, whilst there is also room for the label’s early glories such as Ebz’s “F6-G5” from one of their first ever releases, or Mike Clark’s imperious Herbie Hancock leaning “Motown”.
The overarching feeling one gets from perusing the tracklist (below) is that Third Ear is one of the UK’s most underrated labels with an all encompassing, experimental ethos.
Third Ear will release In Yer Third Ear 01 on double CD and digital formats on November 25.
