Omar S and Kai Alce prepare new 12″ on FXHE

Omar S has teamed up with Atlanta based producer Kai Alce for a new 12″, with the FXHE boss suggesting the second B-Side offering is ‘ringtone worthy’.

The Jive Time EP is due for release in December, and features three original productions. “Not Phazed”, which takes up the whole A Side, is described in the FXHE newsletter as sounding like Marc Kinchen’s first release on KMS (“Somebody New” back in 1989), while the EP’s eponymous track is lauded as “straight dancefloor, must play” material.

This shares the flipside with ambient house track “Incognigro”, which Omar S (real name Alex Smith) bigs up by imploring listeners to “put dis shit on your ringtone!”

Alce, a Detroit native who now resides in Atlanta, has had a fine year, releasing a tidy little 7″ on FXHE back in April as well as a collaborative EP with Englishman Phil Asher and Atlanta vocalist Kayenne.

Omar meanwhile had kept things bubbling along nicely at FXHE, releasing a steady stream of raw Detroit house and techno fire on his label, as well as shifting a few FXHE ice cube trays (no joke).

A1. Not Phazed
