Sónar announce Chicago festival

The Sónar festival will return to US shores in September with a three day event in Chicago featuring Martyn (pictured), Oval and Jimmy Edgar.

The Spanish festival is regarding as the world’s leading electronic music festival, and this year expanded beyond its Barcelona base to run a concurrent event in La Coruna.  Since 2002, Sónar has held 24 events all over the world in different formats in other countries and cities.

Last year there were two Sónar events in the US, held in Washington and New York. This year’s version in the Windy City will take place from September 9-11, with all events being free to the public.

The Slew feat. Kid Koala, Lesley Flanigan, Ben Frost and Nicolas Bernier + Martin Messier: La Chambre des Machines are some of the other confirmed artists. The Catalan contingent consists of Bradien, bRUNA, Huan and Faraón.
