  3. Running Trough The Pines (9:17)
  4. Becky's Gloves (6:05)
Review: French sonic visionary Luc Kheradmand AKA Voiski returns for fellow Parisian Kosme's Cosmic AD imprint. The label's third edition sees Kheradmand deliver some pristine futurist creations in his idiosyncratic style once again. Two selections on Chairlift Romance will undoubtedly suit the dancefloor, such as the deep electro of "It Reminds Me Of A Song" and "Running Through The Pines" - the latter is an acid inflected and melodic hypnotiser that's sure to get dancers trancing out under the strobe light. These are complemented by two ambient soundscapes: the glacial/celestial cosmic ascendance of "Icebreaker" and the haunting textures of "Becky's Gloves".

  7. A Halo Somewhere (3:41)
  8. Phase Shift (4:39)
Review: French techno legend Terence Fixmer returns with another killer EP for Ostgut Ton since 2017's Force EP. The Planete Rouge head honcho follows up releases on aufnahme + wiedergabe, Novamute and Jealous God - so you know what to expect from the man here: bold, industrial techno loaded stright off the factory floor. From the grinding and textural hypnotism of "Shout In A Black Hole", the Millsian sci-fi aesthetics of "Fury" or the classic industrial noir of "Accelerate" to the slow burning EBM sleaze of "Expedition" - Fixmer displays yet again that he's competently consistent at whatever style he chooses throughout this riveting extended EP.

  8. Cannibal (5:18)
Review: The mysterious London based producer Forest Drive West has established his own unique blend of complex rhythms and tactile sound design - distilling a rich history of UK musical influences into fresh new forms. His new LP Apparitions sees him return to Livity Sound for his fourth release and it is a logical progression of the producer's intricate fusions of techno, dub and jungle. From the personal dub of "Transmission", some broken beat tunnel vision as experienced on "Vertigo" through to further innovations into knackered house heard on "Phaze-shift" or the breakneck futurist stepper "Cannibal" which closes out this fine LP. This is indeed a landmark release for one of the UK's most exciting new producers.

Review: Acclaimed live act Strahil Velchev aka KiNK is said to have been a vital ingredient of Cocoon's ecstatic nights on the island over the years. The man from Sofia offers up a recording of one of his explosive performances there, featuring well known tracks and exclusives alike on what the label best described themselves as a 'spontaneous tour de force through the history of electronic dance music.' The Bulgarian hardware maverick takes the best of The Windy City and The Motor City alike, and all the while adding his distinct magic touch. It's a wild ride from start to finish, with peaks coming in at moments like that of "The Russian" with its massive Detroit style chord progressions, the heads-down and direct techno attack of "Kink In De Kabel" through to last year's thrilling anthem "Perth" and the uplifting "Disco Transition".

  10. And Then There Were None
Review: Stroboscopic Artefacts chief Lucy teams up with Rrose (Eaux) as The Lotus Eaters, which sees the two visionary techno artists collaborate for the first time. Although they had previously remixed each other's work, the idea of working together became inevitable. Several intense sessions in Lucy's Berlin studio, using mainly analogue hardware, resulted in a new project starting with two EPs released on their respective imprints. Desatura features a diverse array of powerful and innovative sonic perspectives: the highly engineered tunnelling techno that you've come to expect from either artist is finely displayed on tracks like "Decanter" or "A Third Man", between moments of slow motion hypnotism ("Eat Eat Eat") and droning/textural soundscapes like "The Idea Of North" and "Under The Benches".

  13. Akcept & Another Channel - "Don't Believe" (6:16)
  14. Monic - "Storm Doris" (4:53)
Review: Let's just list the amount of stone cold bass OGs on this collection: Krust, dBridge, Om Unit, Danny Scrilla, V.I.V.E.K, Von D, Moresounds, AU, Oris Jay & Chris Innasound and whole load more of soundsystem culture's most innovative craftsman working at the deepest levels of the low end coalface all feature on this immense and forward thinking document. Including the curator Amit himself. Every track is a highlight, each one and abyssal, immersive experience but essential highlights include the toxic bass bounces of Moresounds' "They Can't Handle It", the 23rd century UKG of Oris and Chris' "They Can't Handle It" and Krust's big screen masterpiece "Escape From Finland". Amit deserves a holiday. Or a massive trophy. Or both. Bass compilations don't get much bigger than this.
