Voltage controlled analog waveform decimator effects module - 8HP wide
Notes: The Crush is an audio destroyer; a voltage controlled, all analog sound decimator. A sonic laser designed to shatter waveforms into a million pieces. The sound of the Crush module is defined by three parameters, Sample Rate, Interpolation, and Mix. Sample Rate assigns the periodic voltage sample timing, breaking down an audio source into ever-larger static chunks. The Interpolate switch tries to rebuild the original waveform from the remaining pieces imprinting another layer of errors and unique artifacts on the output. The results are crushing.

The Crush wrecks audio without ever sounding harsh or thin. Compared to a digital bit crusher, the analog Crush sounds full and warm. Taking advantage of unlimited bit and sample rate resolutions, the Crush avoids lo-fi digital results by smoothly downsampling at infinite resolution.

An integrated voltage controlled mix circuit allows the perfect amount of destruction to be added to the audio. Manually set the mix or use a control voltage to sweep from squeaky clean to completely crushed.

CRUSH CONTROLS:
Sample Rate Control - Sample rate control.

Sample Rate CV In Control - Sample Rate CV input jack attenuator.

Interpolate/Step Mode Switch - Step mode offers true downsampling. Interpolate mode attempts to smooth the downsampled waveform.

Output Mix Control - Controls the signal mix of the Mix Out.

Mix CV In Control - Mix CV input jack attenuator.

Crush Patch Points:
SR CV IN - CV input modulates the Sample Rate.
MIX CV IN - CV input modulates the Output Mix.
INPUT - Waveform Input.
CRUSH OUT - Processed waveform output.
OUTPUT - Mixed waveform output

Chaotic gate and CV sequencing arcade synth module - 10HP wide
Notes: Packed with six unique multi-mode sequencers and a fully voltage controllable user interface, the Game System is deep! Each game represents a different type of sequencing, from classic step sequencers, to unique multi-dimensional clock dividers, to chaotic gate generators. Individual sequencers in the Game System would make great standalone modules. Bundled together, they offer an entire arcade of sequencing options, with lots of room for creativity.

A Unique Set of Controls
The Game System uses a thumb joystick and button press interface for fast and intuitive navigation of the sequencers. Joystick movements and button presses are voltage controllable, inviting external CV and gate signals to take control of the gaming experience. The Game System can also be computer controlled, freeing the sequencers to shift and morph with the zeros and ones.

Game 1: Meteor Shower:
Meteor showers have inspired musicians since the dawn of time. The Game System transforms these celestial events into an 8x8 matrix filled with pixelated meteors, explosions, and one panicked spaceship. Pilot your unarmed ship through the matrix while dodging falling meteors. Explosion based gates and random control voltages react to the action and provide the perfect score to the amazing events taking place in the simulated night sky. God speed, fearless astronauts.

Game 2; Music Programmer (CV/Gate Sequencer):
Create your own musical masterpiece, a melody that defines a generation. Music Programmer is a classic 32 step CV and gate sequencer that is programmed with the joystick or auto generated using control voltages. Sequences can vary in length from 1 to 32 steps and can be played in forward, reverse, pendulum, or random order. CV output is quantized to 1 volt per octave to keep the resulting patterns well tempered.

Game 3: Percussion Programmer (4 Channel Gate Sequencer):
Hmm.... Percussion can mean anything. A short (or long) burst of sound (or silence) used to create rhythmic patterns (or not) that drive (or don't) the beat of a song (or endless noodle). Regardless of the definition, the Percussion Programmer game features four channels of programmable gate sequencing that can be used for, um... anything. Rock and roll would probably assign the channels to kick, snare, high hat, and crash while EDM would go with something closer to kick, high hat, kick, and kick. Whatever gets you moving....

Game 4: Time Traveller (4 Channel Clock Divider):
A way to be in four places at once. Time Traveller is the first two dimensional clock divider. A game that shifts outputs freely within clock divisions and offsets. Using the idea of a time grid, clock divisions from 1 to 8 are laid out on the x axis allowing the y axis to be assigned to 8 steps of offset. The four outputs can be independently set to a static location, or allowed to freely roam the time grid creating unpredictable results. Time travel can be complicated; don't forget your towel.

Game 5: Probability Machine (2 Channel Chaotic Gate Generator):
The real world is a crazy place and music should reflect that. The Probability Machine creates chaotic gates based on a cascading chance algorithm. The resulting patterns are always in sync with some multiple of the clock, allowing for stuttering but not disjointed patterns. The density of the gates is based on a two dimensional probability field. The X axis defines the potential of an event and the Y axis defines the the depth of the event while the joystick button adds additional layers of complexity to the outputs. Spaztastic!

Game 6: Euclidean Rhythms (Algorithmic Gate Sequencer):
Impress your friends by applying all that geometry you learned in school. Inspired by the paper by Godfried Toussaint, the Euclidean Rhythms game is an auto-generating gate pattern sequencer that organizes complexity. Mathematically, the Euclidean Rhythms sequencer works to evenly space the number of active beats over the length of the sequence. Musically, the Euclidean Rhythms effortlessly creates organic patterns steeped in both western and non-western musical philosophies. Add a bit of CV control to create sequences that evolve with the incoming voltages and suddenly math never sounded so good.

Low noise four channel mixer for both audio & CV signals
Notes: The Lifeforms 2+2 Mixer is a low noise, ambidextrous four channel mixer for both audio and CV signals. The signal path is extremely versatile allowing it to function in five different configurations.

The channel controls utilize a logarithmic volume curve tuned for audio signals but the module will work with CV as well.

Patching the output of channel 1 or 3 will remove it from the mixer circuit. Patching the mix 1+2 output removes channels 1 and 2 from the mix (3+4) output and creates two, two channel mixers. Channel 4 cannot be removed from the mixer circuit, however if channel 1, 2, and 3 are all being used as attenuators, channel 4 is the only input remaining in the mixer allowing it to be used as a buffered attenuator.

Controls:

In 1 Jack - Channel 1 input jack.
Out 1 Jack - Channel 1 output jack. Plugging in a cable removes channel 1 from the mixer and allows it to be used as a passive attenuator.
Level 1 Knob - Channel 1 level attenuator.
In 2 Jack - Channel 2 input jack.
Mix 1+2 Out Jack - Channel 1 and 2 output jack. Plugging in a cable removes channel 1 and 2 from the Mix (3+3) output and allows channel 1 and 2 to act as separate a 2 channel mixer.
Level 2 Knob - Channel 2 level attenuator.
In 3 Jack - Channel 3 input jack.
Out 3 Jack - Channel 3 output jack. Plugging in a cable removes channel 3 from the mixer and allows it to be used as a passive attenuator.
Level 3 Knob - Channel 3 level attenuator.
In 4 Jack - Channel 4 input jack.
Mix (3+4) Out Jack - Main mixer output.
Level 4 Knob - Channel 4 level attenuator.

Four stage envelope generator with independently adjustable attack, decay, sustain & release stages
Notes: The Lifeforms ADSR is a four-stage envelope generator with independently adjustable attack, decay, sustain, and release stages. This module does one thing amazingly well. The ADSR smooths the shape of the incoming gates and triggers to produce a more expressive instrument. The ADSR output can be used to control the amplitude of an oscillator, the cut-off frequency of a filter or any other function on a module that accepts control voltages.

The functionality of the ADSR is simple. The incoming gate or trigger signal passes through each of the four stages to output an envelope. When the ADSR module receives a gate or trigger signal, the attack determines the amount of time needed for the envelope generator to reach the peak output voltage and move on to the decay stage. Decay sets the amount of time needed to transition to the level set by the sustain knob. The sustain level is maintained as long as the incoming gate remains on or high. Once the incoming gate goes low or off, the release stage takes over. The release knob sets the time needed to close the envelope and return the ADSR output to 0 volts.

Classic multi-mode filter module in 8HP Eurorack format
Notes: A deeper exploration of the Pittsburgh Filter sound, the Binary Filter is a voltage controlled, analog, state variable filter based on the filter of the Lifeforms SV-1. The state variable topology was chosen because it allowed us to produce a very smooth and natural sounding filter, in addition to offering several other modes of operation, each with a unique sound and energy all their own.

There Is No Sweet Spot:
The Filter defines the Jekyll and Hyde sound of Pittsburgh Modular. On the one hand, it offers a warm, organic sweep through the full frequency range. The low-pass filter is gummy and relaxed while the high-pass is clean and defined. On the other hand, switching into unstable mode turns the Binary Filter into a howling beast capable of chunky walls of overdrive and noise. The goal was to produce a filter that does not have a single sweet spot. We worked to make every turn of a knob or flip of a switch offer something new and musically engaging.

Filter Responses:
Multiple filter responses are available simultaneously including low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass.

Switch It Up:
The stability switch selects between Stable and Unstable modes. Set to Stable, the Lifeforms Bipolar Filter will not self-oscillate, and operates as a clean, organic filter. Set to Unstable and without an incoming audio signal, the Bipolar Filter produces a high-quality voltage controlled sine wave. Adjusting the Q while in Unstable mode modifies the shape of the waveform. Add an incoming audio signal to the Unstable mode and the output changes dramatically. At normal settings, the incoming signal modulates the self-oscillating filter to produce complex sounds. At more extreme settings, where the Bipolar Filter starts to struggle with self-oscillation, the Q adds anything from ringing fuzz to heavy distortion to the incoming audio.

Modular waveform generator featuring 2 precision analog oscillators with voltage controlled shape contouring
Notes: Designed to be the nucleus of a synthesizer, the Double Helix Oscillator is a modular waveform generator like no other. A set of beefy, analog oscillators paired with voltage controlled shape contouring, deep modulation, and a performance ready voltage controlled modulation matrix create a dynamic, analog waveform playground.

At the core of the Double Helix are two, wide range, precision oscillators. The primary oscillator includes a full complement of waveforms and multiple modulation options. The Secondary oscillator offers a more focused set of waves and frequency modulation. Both oscillators reach deep into LFO range and can be used as voltage controlled modulation sources.

The contour section of the Double Helix Oscillator features a highly tuned wavefolder paired with our exclusive dynamic impulse low pass gate. The contour signal chain starts with a two-channel mixer. This allows multiple waveforms or multiple oscillators to be combined before passing though the contour section. The first half of the contour section is a voltage controlled, 6 stage wavefolder used to add odd harmonics to the incoming waveform. The timbre and timbre CV controls set the density and amplitude of the folds. When processing a sine wave, the wavefolder creates a spectral change from zero harmonics to square, with an infinite harmonic series.

The second half of the contour section is a dynamic impulse low pass gate. The effect of the low pass gate is similar to pairing a low pass filter and VCA together. As the dynamics control is opened, the filter adds harmonics and the VCA increases the amplitude of the waveform. As the dynamics control is closed, the filter removes harmonics and the VCA decreases the amplitude of the waveform. This pairing mimics how sound behaves in the real world creating a more naturally tonal response. The impulse input adds the ability to strike or ping the low pass gate circuit creating a very organic, percussive sound. The decay time of the impulse input is set by the dynamics response control allowing the strike to be tuned to a specific musical context.

The modulation section includes an LFO offering simultaneous sine, square, and random waveforms. A noise source is also available for audio or modulation use.

A pair of voltage controlled routers manage all the CV inputs creating a dual, voltage controlled modulation matrix perfect for complex signal paths, experimentation, and live performance. The matrix consists of two voltage controlled amplifiers designed to control the modulation amount inputs that can be routed to any of the Double Helix CV inputs. Each of the CV inputs can be switched to channel a, bypass, or channel b and mixed with a dedicated CV input.

Dynamic impulse filter synth module in Eurorack format - 8HP wide
Notes: A New Species of Lowpass Gate:
Organic and percussive, the Dynamic Impulse Filter utilizes an entirely new, all analog design to replicate the impact transients and vibrancy of a percussion hit. The result is a versatile filter module that sounds natural and energetic. The Dynamic Impulse Filter works in one of three modes: resonant lowpass filter, high quality VCA, and a combined lowpass gate mode that manages both timbre and loudness at the same time. The core of the filter uses a Sallen-Key topology to produce a smooth two pole filter that will self-oscillate at high resonance settings.

We Love Vactrols Too...
The dynamics response control is the key. Historically, lowpass gates have used a light dependent resistor called a vactrol to impart a magical, organic response onto a sound. This unique signature has given the vactrol an almost mythical status in the synth community. However, the venerable vactrol is not without its problems. Vactrol response times can vary wildly, creating sonic differences from module to module that cannot be adjusted without replacing the vactrol. The fruit of over two years of research and development, the Dynamic Impulse Filter evolves the lowpass gate into the present by retaining the sonic characteristics we love about vactrols while solving all the problems that come with it. The unique design of the Dynamic Impulse Filter replaces the vactrol with a modern analog circuit created to replicate and expand on the signature sound of the vactrol. The response time of the Dynamic Impulse Filter is not static like a vactrol; instead it is tuneable allowing the response of the module to adapt to any musical context.

Used as a filter, the Dynamic Impulse Filter offers a wide sonic palate with smooth frequency sweeps and aggressive resonance. The Dynamics Response control is an essential part of the filter's unique ability to create rich, tuneable sounds. The impulse trigger input and the exclusive Dynamics Response control allow the module to add an organic, percussive quality to any sound or become a versatile analog drum generator. The Dynamic Impulse Filter will uniquely emulate everything from snappy deep kicks, woody toms, and expressive hand drums, to open up a new world of electronic percussive sounds.

Shared Response:
The Response output of the Dynamic Impulse Filter can be used to control other modules that utilize vactrols. The Response output superimposes the variable Dynamics Response onto vactrol based modules allowing the response of a static vactrol to become adjustable. This opens a range of new possibilities for other modules that use vactrols.

Dynamic Impulse Filter Controls:
- Dynamics Response Knob - Sets the decay time related to the impulse gate input and dynamic CV input.
- Dynamics Knob - In filter mode, the dynamics knob controls the centre frequency of the filter. In VCA mode, the dynamics knob controls the pass through signal level. In lowpass gate mode, the dynamics knob controls both the centre frequency of the filter and the pass through signal level.
- Dynamics CV Knob - Attenuates the incoming dynamics cv signal.
- Filter Mode Resonance Knob - Only active in filter mode, the filter mode resonance knob controls the amount of resonance.
- Mode Switch - Switch between the 3 module modes. VCA position (up) enables VCA mode, both position (centre) enables lowpass gate mode, and filter position (down) enables low pass filter mode.
- Input Jack - Audio signal input.
- Dynamics CV In Jack - CV input used to modulate the dynamics amount.
- Response Out Jack - Dynamics response CV output. This output if the dynamics response circuit is optimized to control the vactrol response of modules utilizing vactrols. It is designed to be patched into a CV input. The response out jack will respond like a gate when used with non-vactrol modules.
- Impulse Gate In Jack - Gate or trigger input used to strike the vactrol and quickly modulate the dynamics of the module.
- Out Jack - Audio signal output.

Four channel programmable drum controller
Notes: Welcome to the Eurorack Drum Machine:
The Pittsburgh Modular Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer is a seriously featured, 4 channel eurorack beat programmer with a classic drum machine style interface. The familiar interface allows for quick mastery of all the features leaving the focus on the music. Seamlessly move around the module tweaking patterns and effects without ever stopping the beat. Easily create new patterns using the live performance or step recording modes, then add one of the powerful pattern effects to each channel to take the sequence to a new level. Designed to integrate into any size eurorack system, simply patch 4 audio signals through the integrated high quality VCAs to create a set of unique percussion voices. Eurorack drum programming has come to life.

Anything is a Drum:
Traditionally, patching up a modular drum kit was constrained by the amount of envelope and VCA modules in a system, restricting the number and complexity of percussion voices in most systems. Another option was to use dedicated drum modules that offer a limited sonic palate and few modulation options. The Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer breaks through these barriers by including a percussion tuned analog envelope and VCA on each channel. Patching anything from a basic sine wave to heavily modulated and processed noise sources through the Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer will quickly create a distinctive drum kit that takes full sonic advantage of the unique synthesis options available in any system.

The Mind of a Modern Drum Machine:
At the heart of the module is a 4 channel, 32 step beat sequencer designed for live performance. Seamlessly move around the module tweaking patterns and effects without ever stopping the beat. Create and store up to 32 sequences using live performance or step mode recording with pattern lengths varying from 1 to 32 steps. Patterns can be copy and pasted to easily create multiple versions of a beat. The sequencer is driven by an internal tap tempo or external clock source. A dedicated clock in/out jack syncs the sequencer with other modules.

Four Integrated Analog Envelopes and VCAs:
Instead of limiting the drums to a few onboard voices or lo-fi samples, the Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer uses an analog envelope and VCA built into each channel to shape any audio source into a percussive instrument. The envelopes are designed with a razor sharp attack and variable decay/release allowing for maximum control over the output of each channel. The envelopes can also be used externally. A short envelope creates a trigger while longer envelopes can be used as a modulation source for oscillators, filters, or anything at all.

6 Adjustable Pattern Effects:
The Lifeforms Percussion Sequencer includes 6 unique pattern effects to expand the musical possibilities of traditional grid style beat programming. Effects include everything from swing and beat shifters to glitch and generative algorithms designed to manipulate the sequencer pattern. Each channel can run a unique instance of one pattern effect at a time. A master pattern effect channel is also available that affects all 4 channels of the sequencer. The combination of the channel effect and the master effect allows for up to two effects at a time on each channel. Each effect has one parameter that can be adjusted to dial in the perfect response.

- Shift Effect
Delays the trigger output of a channel by small divisions of the tempo. Use this effect to create half-step or stutter-step drum triggers. Effect knob controls the amount of channel shift. The range of shift is 1/8th to 7/8ths of a beat.

- Glitch Effect
Probability based glitch effect that creates chaotic gates based on a cascading chance algorithm. The resulting patterns are always in sync with some division of the clock, allowing for stuttering but not disjointed patterns. The probability is set using the effect knob. The range of the glitch effect is minimal to absolute chaos.

- Density Effect
Sets the number and timing of triggers created for each active step. The result can be anything from a doubling of the trigger to a rolling effect. The effect knob controls the trigger density.

- Morph Effect
Create evolving patterns. The morph effect is a probability based algorithm that modifies an existing pattern by adding or removing active steps. The effect knob sets the probability that the pattern will morph.

- Swing Effect
A classic drum machine effect meant to mimic the feel of a real drummer by shifting the timing of every other step. The effect knob controls the amount of swing.

- Add/Drop Effect
Temporarily add or drop steps from a pattern. The results are similar to the morph effect but changes to the pattern are not compounded as the pattern plays allowing the resulting pattern to stay anchored to the original sequence. The effect knob sets the probability that a step will be modified.

Because most mixes do not require each channel to have a full complement of features, channel 4, 5, and 6 share auxiliary, bus, and main mix controls allowing for maximum channels within a small footprint.

Three independent signal paths open the mixer up to complex routing possibilities. The auxiliary send can be used as an effects send or alternative mix while the bus is used to cue up sounds for live performance or to split the mixer channels into 2 independent mixers. The possibilities are deep.

Random voltage generator & noise module
Notes: The Chance is a random voltage generator and noise source. Its digital architecture allows for a fresh take on what random voltage can be. Four unique algorithms provide classic signals like smooth and discrete, while the wavetable and blend outputs take full advantage of its microcontroller core, utilizing lookup tables, and digital interpolation to create a one-of-a-kind modulation source.

Upon each successive clock pulse, coin toss seeds all outputs with new randomly chosen values. Freeze stops everything in its tracks and holds each output at its current state. After countless hours, the Chance will continue to surprise with new, unbelievable improvisations.

Hand-wired glitch, pitch & slice module - 14HP
Notes: Is it a distortion? Is it a ring modulator or a delay? We call it the Bad Comrade, the world's first hand-wired glitch, pitch and slice module.

The Bad Comrade will let you beef up every sound you will send through the device. Dull drums will be transformed into hard banging sounds. Acoustic instruments, as well as synthesizers, can be "spiced up" the same way. For the adventurous sound-researcher that craves unthinkable tones, the Bad Comrade lets you distort, modulate, glitch and slice on the fly like no other module.

There are three simple parameters for varying the sound.

The delay time can be set manually via the Time potentiometer and it is possible to influence it via the CV input. Altering this parameter during operation leads to pitch effects.

Turning the Glitch knob to the left will increase the threshold, cutting noise and clipping the signal.

To compensate the boost in amplification caused by the module, you can use the Level knob to bring it back to the desired volume. Turned all the way to the left, the sound will be completely silenced.

Pushing the Freeze button will lock the signal at the rate set by the delay time control knob.

The Bad Comrade is hand-wired in Seattle, Washington.

Versatile module featuring delay, modulation, freeze & stutter effects - 14HP
Notes: Cutting Room Floor is the most versatile release from Recovery Effects to date. Unlike any effect you've heard before, it offers mountains of wild modulation, delay, freeze and stutter. Anything from smooth lo-fi chorus to broken-tape-deck sounds can be achieved with this unique effect. First melt, then freeze sounds in place, or use it as a gritty echo or faux reverb.

The Time knob sets the delay time, which can also be influenced via CV. Altering this parameter during operation leads to pitch effects.

The Blend potentiometer acts like a Dry/Wet.

The level of the output can be controlled by the Volume knob.

It's possible to change the shape of the flutter modulation from triangle to square wave with the Shape knob. The speed of tape fluctuation can be set by the Flutter knob. This is to be used in conjunction with the Wow knob, which controls the level of melting modulation.

It's possible to turn flutter on and off with the Stability toggle-switch, enabling or disabling the fluctuation of the tape speed.

There is also a toggle-switch labelled S/M, which changes the effect from a single to repeated delays, acting like a simple feedback control.

The Freeze button temporarily loops the playback head and locks the audio signal. This mode alters the behaviour of the Blend potentiometer. - It sets twelve o'clock to zero. Rotating the knob to the left models the playback of an Ampex 456. Turned to the right, it models the playback of an Ampex 499.

The module is hand-wired in Seattle, Washington.

Modulated ladder filter Eurorack module with Variable Slope, Q Intensity Control & Q Level Compensation
Notes: At the core of the EVOLUTION Variable Character Ladder Filter is Dave Rossum's enhancement of the iconic Moog ladder filter from the original E-mu Systems 2100 LPF module (which, incidentally, Dave counts as his favourite sounding of all of the analog filters he designed).

For EVOLUTION, Dave has designed new capabilities that not only allow you to dial in all of the outstanding qualities of the original 2100, but combine to let you create the sonic characteristics of a wide variety of other filter types.

They include:

- A Genus control that allows continuous voltage control of the number of filter poles (from 3 to 6 poles), essentially allowing real-time variation of Evolution's effective cutoff slope from 18dB/oct to 36dB/oct. LEDs give continuous indication of the current slope.
- A Species control that lets you vary the signal level into the ladder, letting you control the intensity of the filter's characteristic distortion. When in self-oscillation mode, this control modulates the amplitude of Evolution's output.
- Voltage controlled resonance with a variable Q Level Compensation control that controls the balance of the resonant peak and the frequencies below the cutoff frequency (which would otherwise be attenuated as the resonance is increased).
- An extremely accurate and temperature-stable frequency control exponential generator (accurate over 10 octaves), rivalling the specifications of the best analog VCOs.

Taken together, EVOLUTION gives you everything from the platonic ideal of the classic ladder filter to a vast selection of alternative filter characteristics.

And like all Rossum Electro-Music modules, it's solidly built, with machined aluminium knobs and high quality components throughout.

Premium 14-pole stereo digital filter module
Notes: With our MORPHEUS digital filter module, we're finally able to unleash the full power of the 14-pole Z-Plane Filters that Dave invented for the E-mu Morpheus synthesizer.

The MORPHEUS Eurorack module includes over 280 filter configurations, what we call Cubes. Each Cube is composed of up to 8 complex filters that you can picture as being at the corners of a three dimensional cube (hence the name). Morpheus gives you the ability to smoothly interpolate between those 8 filters within the cube's three dimensional space.

Due to processor limitations back in the day, the original Morpheus was capable of real-time morphing in one dimension, but interpolation in the frequency and transform dimensions were set at note-on and remained static for the remainder of the note. But even with that limitation, Morpheus offered sonic capabilities that are unmatched to this day.

With the MORPHEUS filter module, you now have simultaneous real-time CV control of all three dimensions, for dynamic timbral effects unlike anything you've ever heard before. In stereo.

Compact programmable universal CV generator - 12HP
Notes: Satellite is a compact 12HP module that can be loaded with all (or a subset) of the presets and preset sequences from a Rossum Electro-Music Control Forge or other Satellite and then function as a completely stand-alone CV generator. Once the presets and preset sequences are transferred from the other module (via a patch cord connection), Satellite no longer requires any connection to the module.

With one or more Satellites, you can take advantage of all of your Control Forge presets and sequences in multiple cabinets or even different systems.

Multiple Satellites can be programmed from the same Control Forge and synced together via their Gate inputs to create complex polyphonic sequences and modulation contours.

In addition to direct connection with a Control Forge or other Satellite, presets and preset sequences can also be loaded via audio file archives that have been saved from a Control Forge or Satellite. And since those files can be posted online and downloaded, it’s a great way to share and exchange presets.

Modular synthesizer in Eurorack format - improved version of the Thru-Zero Oscillator module
Notes: Improved version of the high performance Thru-Zero Oscillator OMEGA-PHI.

What has been improved?

Firstly, the VCO core:
- Parasitic noise effect especially audible at low oscillator frequencies at the Omega-sine/tri outputs exactly when the thru-zero operation begins to start by FM-modulation through a sine modulator is reduced by 15 db and is so no longer audible! BTW: a similar noise at the Phi-sine/tri outputs was not reduced!
- Highly improved oscillator FM-stability;
a) New precision rectifier design leading to terrific in-tune FM synthesis over the full index over a very wide frequency range.
b) New core-symmetry circuit for a perfect balanced triangle wave eliminates tendencies to asymmetric tri/sine shapes even at high FM-modulation frequency/carrier frequency ratios. This leads to no more carrier-sine distortions and no detunes even at high ratios.
c) Improved thermal board design for better frequency stability and linearity at very high frequencies and thus more stable FM results, generally.
- Extended maximum FM index from 44 to now 50.

Secondly, the VCO environment:
- Completely new VCA design for FM and PM providing ultra-low noise and ultra-low control feed-through capability.
- Ultra low constant or transient frequency shifts with varying FM indices in both modes, DC and AC.
- Cleaner sound, especially for PM and also for FM at higher oscillator frequencies, where VCA noises become relevant.
- Smoother VCA-index curve for better control even around zero reduced potentiometer noises for PM Phi (-360- - +360-).

Highly versatile, fully analogue, programmable & voltage-controlled filter synth module
Notes: The CS-8 VCF02 is a very versatile, fully analogue, programmable and voltage-controlled filter (VCF). It is capable of processing all sorts of audio signals. It is designed for mounting into a 3U Eurorack with an internal +/- 12V power supply.

This module is capable of producing 121 different filter types (27 low-pass, 18 high-pass, 13 band-pass, and 63 all-pass/notch/phase-type filters). External control voltages can be used to control all functions, thus the CS-8 VCF02 can be remote-controlled by sequencers, foot pedals/switches etc. The CS-8 VCF02 features some unique and very powerful functions that are entirely new to voltage-controlled filter modules such as emphasize, 2nd harmonic distortion, and drop.

The CS-8 VCF02 features a unique "layer cake" design. This way, its installation depth is reduced to a minimum, compared to other Eurorack modules.

Design and implementation meet highest technical standards concerning usability, sound quality, and signal-to-noise ratio. The front panel is made from an anodised and printed piece of aluminium sheet metal of 2 mm gauge. The entire design and production work was done in Germany.

Complex noise oscillator module - 14HP
Notes: The Interstellar Radio is a faulty transmission line providing several varieties of destructive effects as well as acting as a non-volts/octave complex oscillator when no input is provided.

Interstellar radio converts an audio signal from the input jack to a high frequency pulse train and then back to an audio signal with voltage control over the clock for the up conversion (CARRIER) as well as the down conversion (DEMODULATOR), like a voltage controlled radio transceiver designed for poor reception.

Manipulating these clocks allows for a variety of aliasing, distortion, and frequency modulation type effects. The output is also sent to a comparator along with the input, and the result is available at the "ERROR" output for a ring modulation type effect.

When no input is provided a DC offset (controllable with the input jack) sets a frequency for the up conversion (which is effectively a VCO), the down conversion acts as a modulation oscillator allowing for a fairly radical form of frequency modulation. Two audio signals can be inserted into the clock input jacks and modulate each other in the same way.

Dual chaotic oscillator with 2 CV inputs, Gate output with adjustable threshold & two sets of X & Y outputs
Notes: The Dreamboat is a dual chaotic oscillator with 2x CV inputs, a Gate output with adjustable threshold, and two sets of X and Y outputs. There are two oscillator sections to the module, the top half is an audio rate chaotic oscillator and the lower half outputs LFO rate signals. With its five outputs, the Dreamboat allows you to connect to plenty of modules all at once, allowing all kinds of modulation and listening possibilities. When used with an oscilloscope or a scope program in X/Y mode, the Dreamboat allows you to view its chaotic attractors in real time.

Allowing for unique rhythms through the use of the gate output, a typical setup might see the Dreamboat involved in a few feedback loops while controlling an ADSR and a VCA with its gate output. When used with TIP-TOP's special dual cables, hearing AND viewing the Dreamboat at the same time is a snap.

The Dreamboat is easy to use, just turn the knobs until the Chaos starts, then add modulation, cross-couple the two sections, and bring in a VCO or Noise module. For even more far out sounds, we recommend the use of two or even three Dreamboats for a truly powerful setup. Though the Dreamboat is not an oscillator in a way you might be used to, it will push you into new musical directions.

From subtle to destructive, from scary to absurd, the Dreamboat is a strange bird.

Use the Dreamboat to create everything from strange fogs to banging pots and pans, use it to explore Chaos or simply to have a truly unique module in your setup.

Snazzy FX recommends Gleick's classic book CHAOS for those who want to know a bit more about what is going on behind the scenes in this module.

Dual multiplier equipped with two four-quadrant multipliers - 8HP
Notes: Not a multiple - a multiplier! A four quadrant multiplier is similar to the classic ring modulator. Use it to create sideband rich spectral soundscapes, create pitched noise, use it with DC for tremolo FX, or use it with integrators and summers to pull off analog computer patches! Really this module rewards those who enjoy experimentation.

Unique to the dual multiplier is the normalization of the top section straight into the bottom section, so even with just two signals plugged in, you already get a few different results.

Low-pass filter module - 8HP
Notes: Take advantage of the instability!

The Eternal Spring Filter is quite different than most filters. It belongs to that category of sound modifiers which could be called an "effect", which is to say that it doesn't just filter the sound in a regular manner but also adds a considerable amount of edge/personality. At times it sounds like a wavefolder and when you plug a nice slow LFO into the CV input, you can really get some intense sounds out of it.

At lower drive settings, this filter adds noise, grit, and harmonics, while at higher settings the sound of the filter takes over and replaces your input with sparks and sludge. It sounds great on synth leads, on basslines, and really adds a lot of movement to drones. It is a weird beast which is capable of some different sounds than other filters in your system. On top of all of that, this filter is not temperature compensated and has plenty of musical instability. The cut-off and Q move around nicely to add energy to your incoming audio.
