Eurorack multi-waveform syncable Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) module based on Electric Druid TAPLFO2D family of code - 4HP wide
Notes: Wave Runner LFO:
Wave Runner is a multi-waveform sync-able LFO based on the Electric Druid TAPLFO2D family of code, but with some significant additions and improvements. The TAPLFO2D-FC PIC and code is exclusive to Frequency Central and was developed specifically for the Wave Runner, and is not compatible with similar modules.

Eurorack digital voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) synth module
Notes: Waverider Digital VCO - here we go! Now in production, wavetable VCO with tons of features: CV'd interpolating waveforms, CV'd subosc waveforms and octaves, CV'd glide, bitcrushing and more!

Frequency: The Frequency CV input accepts 0-5V control voltages, quantized to semitones, to cover the MIDI note range 0-63. It is possible to limit the CV input with the CV attenuator. The basic frequency range of the VCDO is ten octaves from MIDI Note 0 to MIDI Note 120 (8.18Hz to 8372Hz), and can be selected by the manual Frequency knob.

Detune: The Detune CV input is not quantised, and allows for -5V to +5V CV to modulate +/-8 semitones. The manual Detune knob allows adjustments to be made +/-100 cents.

Waveform: The VCDO section has 16 waveforms which you're unlikely to have seen before, arranged as a wavetable. The VCDO is able to crossfade from one to the next, creating a wavetable which you can scan through under voltage control, -5V to +5V. It would have been easy to include standard waveforms like ramps and triangles, but there are many oscillators that produce those. This oscillator has its own character and provides something different.

Sub Wave: As well as the main oscillator, there is also a sub oscillator with 8 waveforms. Each waveform can be selected at one of four octaves, either +1 octave (above the main osc pitch!), in unison, -1 octave, or -2 octaves. Additionally, the Sub Wave can be selected externally by CV, -5V to +5V.

Glide: Waverider also includes a glide/portamento effect, glide times range from 12ms/octave to 2.4secs/octave. Turning the Glide knob to minimum switches the glide effect off. Additionally, Glide can be externally controlled by any gate source, 0V = Glide off, 5V = Glide on.

Crush: The Crush knob controls the sample bit resolution of the output (ie bitcrushing). This can be reduced from 8-bit down to 1-bit in eight steps.

VCDO and Sub Osc Outputs: 8-bit, 62.5KHz sample output rate. The internal waveforms and calculations are 8-bit, and new samples are output via the on-chip PWM modules at 62.5KHz. The PWM modules' outputs are at 125KHz.

4 channel mixer eurorack synth module - 4HP wide
Notes: The MX1 mixer module from FSS is designed to present a compact, affordable mixing solution for Eurorack users. The MX1 gives four audio inputs in as many HP, with both normal and phase-inverted outputs available.

The level controls of the MX1 are logarithmic, but the channels are DC coupled, so CVs can be summed together using the MX1 if necessary.

The MX1 provides unity gain of each channel when the level control is fully clockwise, meaning that there is no loss of signal level when mixing. This also allows for the MX1 to be overdriven, especially if the same source is multipled to the four inputs or the "normal" output is fed back into one of the inputs.

A set of expansion headers also allow for the FSS P.O.C.A. VAC1 and Whitehall SW1 modules to be used alongside the MX1 without any patching required, when using the MX1x expander accessory.

Eurorack module based around The Gristleizer
Notes: The Gristleizer Generator has been designed to replicate the original functionality of the Gristleizer's oscillator section, but with many new additions. With a brand new design from Roy Gwinn, the TG2 Generator is far more stable than its predecessor, featuring 1V/Oct tracking amongst other features. However, as with its original, the TG2 spans from low frequency ranges into the audible range, and makes for a killer bass oscillator as well as a fully featured LFO.

The core of the oscillator is based around a shape-variable ramp generator, with similar functionality to that found in the Korg MS Modulation Generators. Here, the Shape control takes the Ramp output from a descending sawtooth, through triangle, to an ascending sawtooth shape. This varying ramp waveform is then input to a wave-folder, which outputs both Fold and Pulse waveforms, based on how the Gain and Offset controls are set. Lastly, the original ramp waveform is fed into a comparator for the Clock output, the pulsewidth of which is variable using the Shape control.

The Gain and Offset of the TG2's wave-folder are both voltage controllable, as well as its Frequency via an attenuated control input and a 1V/Oct control input. The TG2 can also be reset by external sources via the Sync input.

Eurorack module based around The Gristleizer
Notes: The Gristleizer Filter presents one of the key components of the Gristleizer in a Eurorack module - its JFET-controlled multi-feedback band-pass filter. Its characteristics are not unlike a wah-wah pedal, whilst also being able to create other vocal tonalities, especially with several summed in parallel. Whilst originally controlled by the Gristleizer's oscillator, the TG3 can be controlled by any control source available in a Eurorack system.

As well as a couple of Frequency control inputs, the TG3 also adds Register and Resonance controls to the original filter circuit. The Register control shifts the resonant frequency of the filter core itself, whereas the Frequency control affects the gating of the filter's JFET. The Resonance control allows the circuit to self-oscillate easily, allowing for the TG3 to be used as a sound source as well as a filter. The TG3 also incorporates a Drive parameter (with final clipping circuitry added for taming the filter core) as well as an output Level control.

Eurorack module based around The Gristleizer
Notes: The Gristleizer Modulator presents another key component of the Gristleizer in a Eurorack module - its JFET-controlled voltage-controlled amplifier. Whilst originally controlled by the Gristleizer's oscillator to achieve tremolo (or amplitude modulation) effects, the TG4 can be controlled by any control source available in a Eurorack system and, therefore, be used as a conventional VCA with some added features.

The Bias control sets the initial control point of the amplitude modulation, whilst a control voltage attenu-verter for CV2 allows for full control over how the amplitude is modulated. On top of this, the TG4 features a Dirt control, which allows the user to alter the behaviour of the JFET stage. At zero Dirt, the Modulator offers a super-clean VCA, whilst at maximum Dirt, waveforms become drastically mutated, at times beyond recognition. With the Dirt setting at 12 o'clock, the Modulator behaves exactly like the original VCA circuit of the Guitar Effects Pedal design. Also note that the JFET tends to exhibit second-harmonic distortion, similar to that of vacuum-tube amplifiers. Therefore, the TG4 presents not just a VCA, but also a module for adding distortion and character to audio signals.

Eurorack module based around The Gristleizer
Notes: The Gristleizer Pre-Amplifier is a new addition to the existing circuity of Roy Gwinn's "Guitar Effects Pedal" design. After Chris Carter's suggestion of a guitar pre-amplifier for use with the rest of the Gristleizer series, the TG5 came into being. Based upon Jonny Reckless' FET-based discrete amplifier circuitry, Roy Gwinn has designed a pre-amplifier with a high quality VCA back-end which allows for any external audio source to become fully integrated into a Eurorack system.

The Guitar or Line input is firstly fed through one FET stage of the pre-amplifier, and then into a super-clean THAT VCA, the direct output of which is available at the Clean output. This source is then fed through two more FET amplification stages and a tone section (featuring the typical Bass, Mid and Treble controls found on many guitar amps) to the Master output. Bite and Boost controls allow for further control over the tone of the input signal.

An RMS detector (found as part of the THAT VCA) is employed as an envelope follower, as well as a gate detector. The Sensitivity control allows the user to set how the RMS detector reacts to the incoming signal's level. Access to the THAT VCA's Gain control input allows the two Envelope outputs to be used as control sources for the pre-amplifier itself, turning the module into a dynamic compressor (Inverted Envelope) or expander (Normal Envelope).

Analog bassdrum synthesis with sub-oscillator - 13HP
Notes: Not just another clone or continuation of the 808-esque, acid-style kicks of the Mutant Bassdrum - the Mutant BD9 seeks to explore uncharted bassdrum territory by having an integrated sub-oscillator for maximal auditory obliteration.

Parametric bassdrum synthesis offers creative control of the core sound:
- The primary analog VCO offers classic 909-esque sinusoidal bassdrums, but can also be switched to generate a square wave bassdrum
- The PITCH of the VCO spans several octaves, from about 30Hz to 240Hz, and can be modulated with voltage control
- A novel PITCH DECAY circuit allows you to adjust the duration and AMOUNT of the pitch-modulation envelope applied to the bassdrum, from short blips to exaggerated tom-like sweeps
- The AMPLITUDE DECAY allows adjustment of the length of the bassdrum, from short punchy kicks to massive booms. This parameter is voltage-controlled with a snappy CV response time, allowing you to modulate the duration of your kicks per step.
- The CLICK generator is responsible for the attack intensity of the BD9. A fair amount of circuitry goes into creating this subtle punch at the beginning of the kick. The level of this effect is adjustable up to a fairly dramatic extremity.
- The overall timbre of the BD9 varies with the DRIVE control from warm, analog bassdrums at low settings to speaker-shattering overdriven sounds at high settings. Output levels are modular-level signals, unlike many classic line-level percussive devices.

Still not heavy enough? Try the sub-oscillator:
- A square wave sub-oscillator derived from the primary oscillator's pitch can be mixed in (manually and with voltage control) to the BD9. The effect can be subtle deepness or extreme timbre changes.
- A jumper on the back of the module allows you to select between the sub-osc being a raw square wave or having some of the high frequency components removed with a lowpass filter.
- At high OUTPUT DRIVE and SUB LVL combinations, the sub-oscillator can be modulated with CV to saturate the BD9 output in evolving ways.
- The SUB OCT can be set to 0, -1 or -2 octaves down from the primary oscillator. A drop of 0 means that you can mix an equal-pitch square wave with a sinusoidal primary wave.

Designed for the contemporary modular synthesizer:
- Plenty of Eurorack-compatible control voltage inputs with bipolar attenuverters allow synthesis of dynamic percussion
- A practical analog trigger circuit allows activation of the BD9 from many signal sources (anything with a positive-going edge lasting 2ms or longer). Most electronic drum pads can also directly trigger the Mutant BD9.
- An accent input accepts analog voltage control (0 to 5V will fully modulate the volume from low to high)

MIX and DRIVE:

4 channel oscillator controller with integrated quantizer & chord generator - 15HP
Notes: Argos Bleak is a control voltage processor and oscillator driver with two inputs and four (count 'em, four) outputs. Its per-channel octave, detune, vibrato, and slew controls facilitate full performance control of four oscillators at once, with minimum patch cords required. It excels at bringing multiple oscillators from different manufacturers into full cooperation, with the flexibility to quickly switch between multiple performance setups. Processed control voltages are quantized to the scale of your choice, with the slew limiting able to be routed pre- or post-quantizer. A common vibrato control distributes the internal modulation signal to any of the outputs. A set of performance gate inputs allow instant modification of the fundamental channel settings (input selection/mixing, slew enable, quantizer track-and-hold), and a quantizer trigger output automatically fires when channel 1 quantizes a new note. Each channel may receive its data from either (or a sum or difference) of the CV inputs, so you may run two completely independent CV processing streams, or combine the input data and switch it around using the external gate input.

Each output may be offset (positive or negative) by up to 12 semitones. These semitone shifts occur pre-quantizer, effectively enabling chord construction from a single monophonic CV input. 2 banks of 16 chord presets may be stored, and instantly switched or sequenced by an external cv signal. A bonus CV mode rotates the output semitone shift data among all 4 outputs.

Argos Bleak satisfies many common performance situations that require a series of oscillators to respond to tuned control voltages. CV sequences are easily and precisely transposed. FM carrier/modulator ratios are quickly and effortlessly defined, and changed with the dedicated octave knobs and chord selection. Dedicate an output to managing oscillator sync frequency, apply vibrato, and your modular system is suddenly playing pinch harmonics. The calibration routine is simple, and your attached oscillators can be easily calibrated to each other by ear using the channel controls.

Three all-analogue oscillators, each with linear FM & sync inputs
Notes: When one oscillator isn't enough and two oscillators still aren't enough. Three is just right!

The Troika is an arrangement of three all analogue oscillators which can function completely independently or together via parallel pitch tracking utilizing cascading 1V/octave CV normal connections.

The foundations for many powerful subtractive synth voices often use multiple oscillators. Detuning these slightly from one another gives the timbral richness which helped define the original synthesizers of the 60s and 70s.

The Troika was designed to simplify the patching of layered voices in this manner with the benefit of having three voices with matched components and calibration for consistent pitch tracking.

The oscillators each have linear FM inputs with attenuators as well as oscillator sync inputs. This allows for FM operator configurations with first order and even second order modulation on a single module.

Sine, triangle, sawtooth and square waveforms are generated from each oscillator voice, with exception to oscillator three, which lacks triangle but gains CV controllable pulse-width modulation over its square wave.

The waveform control section of the troika utilizes switching between sliding potentiometers which allow for crossfading between the simple waveforms. The arrangement of the waveforms between the three oscillators allows for linear crossfading between any two basic waveforms.

Dual oscillator subtractive synth voice module, 40HP wide
Notes: The Atlantis is heavily inspired by the architecture and sound of the classic Roland SH-101. It has always been one of our favorite synths and we really liked how the seemingly limited architecture allowed for all sorts of creative and musically useful sounds to be easily generated.

Just like the 101 it is quick to dial in beautifully rich bass and lead sounds. However this module uses triangle core VCOs (based on the Dixie core) instead of Saw core which respond much more musically to FM. The modulation oscillator can be used as an LFO or VCO (audio rate) and both track very precisely over 8 or more octaves.

In the mixer section you can adjust the balance of the primary oscillators waveforms including a sinewave which is normalled to the EXT IN jack. You could also patch in one of the modulation oscillators waveforms into this channel and be able to operate the Atlantis as a proper two oscillator synth. There is a switch labelled "LINK" which enables the modulation vco pitch to be based as an offset of the primary VCO. This is useful when using it as a stacked dual vco or when you have the mod VCO acting as the linear FM source for the primary vco and wish to maintain the ratio.

The filter section is a Roland style cascaded 4 pole multimode filter with LP, BP and HP modes. The LP Boost switch engages a special mode useful for the LP that produces a much fatter and prominent sound that is not drowned out by resonance (unlike the original SH-101). The filter self-oscillates to produce a very clean sine wave which also tracks 1V/Oct. Between the Mod VCO, Primary VCO, Sub Oscillator and resonating filter it is possible to layer up to four different pitches at one time.

The Atlantis is heavily inspired by the architecture and sound of the classic Roland SH-101. It has always been one of our favorite synths and we really liked how the seemingly limited architecture allowed for all sorts of creative and musically useful sounds to be easily generated.

Just like the 101 it is quick to dial in beautifully rich bass and lead sounds. However this module uses triangle core VCOs (based on the Dixie core) instead of Saw core which respond much more musically to FM. The modulation oscillator can be used as an LFO or VCO (audio rate) and both track very precisely over 8 or more octaves.

In the mixer section you can adjust the balance of the primary oscillators waveforms including a sinewave which is normalled to the EXT IN jack. You could also patch in one of the modulation oscillators waveforms into this channel and be able to operate the Atlantis as a proper two oscillator synth. There is a switch labelled "LINK" which enables the modulation vco pitch to be based as an offset of the primary VCO. This is useful when using it as a stacked dual vco or when you have the mod VCO acting as the linear FM source for the primary vco and wish to maintain the ratio.

The filter section is a Roland style cascaded 4 pole multimode filter with LP, BP and HP modes. The LP Boost switch engages a special mode useful for the LP that produces a much fatter and prominent sound that is not drowned out by resonance (unlike the original SH-101). The filter self-oscillates to produce a very clean sine wave which also tracks 1V/Oct. Between the Mod VCO, Primary VCO, Sub Oscillator and resonating filter it is possible to layer up to four different pitches at one time.

At the core of this module is very powerful FPGA board that he has pushed to the absolute max of its capabilities and crammed full of features. We wanted to create a module that really worked well in the modular context so there are a lot of modulation and control possibilities.

CHORDS
Oscillator 1 can be operated in a CHORD mode, which runs 8 copies of the oscillator in parallel with adjustable detuning, leading to very fat, rich waveforms. The oscillators have extensive modulation capabilities including audio rate (98KHz) Frequency and Phase Modulation (FM and PM) via external sources. Nonlinear combination processes allow the outputs of the two oscillators to interact to generate complex timbres and sonic textures.
There are 64 user selectable chords.

WAVEFOLDER
The SHAPESHIFTER module also includes the analog wave folder circuitry from
module to add analog warmth and metallic rasps to the digital oscillator output.
External signals can also be patched in.

PRESETS
The module includes a sophisticated preset mode where panel settings can be stored. There are 12 user-programmable preset slots and another 52 volatile slots that can be used as a scratchpad. These scratchpad slots are initialized to interesting presets on module powerup. The capabilities of the preset mode is not limited to mere passive storage of settings, however. In this mode the user can also step through, or sequence, the settings, either in order or randomly in response to pulses input to the external sync input. This gives the user the ability to generate complex sequences of sounds. The preset mode also allows the user to morph between the current panel settings and a preset providing a very powerful real-time performance tool.

Physical modelling percussion synthesiser module - 12HP
Notes: Plonk uses a technique known as physical modelling to synthesize, with great realism, the way in which sound is produced by acoustic instruments. The Plonk module is, itself, focused primarily on creating percussive sounds - both pitched and un-pitched; natural and unnatural; acoustic-sounding or totally electronic.

Plonk does this by breaking sound creation into two distinct elements - the exciter and the resonator. The exciter is a mathematical model of the device used to strike a particular surface. Plonk, because it's percussion oriented, has two types of exciters: one modelled on a mallet, and the other providing a noise source. The resonator is a virtualization of the object being struck, which vibrates, resonates and creates the body of a sound. Plonk offers several types of resonators: beam; marimba; drumhead; membrane; plate; and string.

Plonk provides numerous parameters that let you shape, mould and design both the exciter and the resonator, thus enabling you to synthesize the sound of striking or scraping almost any type of object - real or imagined. In this way, Plonk can accurately model the sounds of kicks, snares, toms, cymbals, claps, tablas, congas and all manner of traditional percussion instruments. It can also model pitched percussive instruments, like vibes, marimbas, and even bass or guitar-like tones. Of course, it additionally excels at modelling instruments that heretofore never existed.

Best of all, the sounds created by Plonk are not static - any sound you design can respond dynamically to velocity, as well as four different modulation inputs. This means the sound of Plonk can change completely from note-to-note (or strike-to-strike). Because of this, Plonk is actually a duophonic (2-voice) module, which lets the sound of one note decay naturally when a second note (possibly employing an entirely different set of modelling values) is struck. Thus, hitting a new note does not choke the sound of the previously struck note (unless you want it to, of course)!

Plonk stores up to 128 patches in its internal memory, and ships with many presets programmed by professional sound designers and composers. You may overwrite these patches if you wish, and banks of patches may be transferred via MIDI System Exclusive over Plonk's built-in mini-USB port to facilitate offline storage by programs or websites that support this capability.

Plonk was developed in cooperation with Montreal-based Applied Acoustics Systems - physical modelling pioneers, and the creators of Tassman, Lounge Lizard, String Studio, Ultra Analog, Chromaphone and numerous other plugins. It is with great pleasure that Intellijel brings the potential of this physical modelling technology to a hands-on, CV-laden device capable of the sort of dynamic control and sonic exploration that modular synthesists demand.

Bass drum synth module
Notes: We are happy to introduce our new Jomox 19" euro rack module series.

In the 19" euro rack market we also want to keep our concept of storeable analog sound production because it offers just too many advantages.
In order to achieve this, we had to develop a complete new analog control system for our circuitries inside these modules.

We'd like to make these euro rack products interesting for both live drummers and modular people. Therefore, a CV/Gate control and trigger inputs for drumpad pickups are available.
For regular modular use, analog routable CV inputs and an analog output are accessible via 3.5mm jacks. The Gate can be configured as 0-5V (0-15V is accepted too), inversed or s-trigger.

Everything is storeable and can be recalled via encoder klick from 100 presets. But for the analog feel of modular, eight potentiometers give you the fine and precise editing of the most important parameters without stepping through menus.
E-Drummers can create complete E-drum setups, because there is an internal Jomox analog connection bus with a fast digital link which can do a submix and an FX send mix from each module hooked up to the bus.
With this system bus you won't need to use the audio outputs but instead you have a programmable bus system that can link to future master, sequencer and mixing or effects modules - which can take control over the single modules.
This makes the whole modular setup recallable and storeable from a center module like a drum machine.

Also, to link the ModBase modules to our other products, they all have a Midi interface on the rear that can be wired within the rack case and being cascaded from one module to another.
The menu selection is paged by two-colored LEDs for both sides of the menu.
Two internal LFOs which both control the tuning of the kick drum VCO expand the sound spectrum once more.

All analog parameters are either storeable and controllable via Midi. The Midi notes control the pitch of the kick drum VCO.

Too, the modules are controllable via CV/Gate and via trigger pads for live drummers. With the trigger input, the threshold and velocity dependend dynamics can be adjusted.

Four routable CV inputs let all internal sound parameters (incl. LFOs and metallic noise) be controlled by CV sequencers. Every CV input provides an own programmable amount which can be negative too (i.e. subtracting the CV value from the internal value). The range goes from 0..5V.
