The Lifeforms Foundation Evo is a deeply rich and creative laboratory packed with all the tools necessary for late night sonic diversions and inspiring live performances. A set of complex oscillators, pressure sensitive performance controller, multiple arpeggiators, multiple sequencers, voltage controlled analog delay, chaotic random cv and gate generators, and multiple filter types are just the tip of the iceberg.

East Coast Mastery:
Four beefy analog oscillators with a full complement of waveforms rich in harmonics and modulation options, three resonant filters, a pair of four stage envelopes, and deep midi options, the Lifeforms Foundation Evo is the perfect choice for maximum east coast style subtractive synthesis. The Lifeforms Foundation Evo can be patched up to create massive four-oscillator monophonic or true duophonic dual oscillator synth voices, and can be controlled with the built-in pressure sensitive keyboard, or with any combination of included sequencers and arpeggiators.

West Coast Chemistry:
The same set of complex oscillators that sing for the east coast open to reveal even more for the west. FM, non-linear wave-shaping, and a unique variable response low-pass gate drive the Lifeforms Foundation Evo deep into west synthesis territory. An additional low-pass gate, voltage controlled multi-function generator, chaotic random generators, pressure sensitive controller, voltage controlled analog delay, and a complete set of utility modules firmly plant the Lifeforms Foundation Evo flag on west coast soil.

A Eurorack Synthesizer:
The Lifeforms Foundation Evo is not simply a collection of Eurorack modules pieced together to fill a case. All of the modules in the Lifeforms Foundation Evo were designed simultaneously as a single, monolithic synthesizer to ensure that it sounds and feels like a complete instrument. While the Lifeforms Foundation Evo Synthesizer is designed to function as a standalone instrument, it is also a 100% Eurorack compatible modular synthesizer. Housed in our Structure EP-208 road case, the system is made up of 15 individual Eurorack format synthesizer modules which can be removed, reorganized, and replaced with Pittsburgh Modular or other Eurorack compatible modules.

We've designed the Lifeforms SV-1 to be patch compatible any eurorack synthesizer regardless of size. Creative Synthesis Design:

With our new temperature stabilized, dual VCA oscillator core, the analogue audio engine of the Microvolt 3900 feeds a set of timbral waveshapers crafted for deep harmonic shaping, enabling a layer of additive synthesis alongside the classic subtractive synthesis waveforms. Waveforms are fed into our binary filter, a custom state variable filter architecture offering near infinite resonance with or without self-oscillation. Sonically this creates a juicy, fluid filter adding depth and energy to the oscillator that can scream if you ask it to.

The heart of the Microvolt 3900's sound is our new dynamic VCA technology. Where a standard VCA works in two dimensions, the Microvolt 3900 dynamic VCA technology adds a third dimension. As the dynamic VCA closes, decreasing the amplitude, harmonics are removed from the source. As the dynamic VCA opens, the harmonics are restored. This mimics the behaviour of sounds in nature. The result is a lively, organic sounding synthesiser full of energy. The design of the dynamic VCA also allows the instrument to be plucked or struck, opening up another set of percussive musical possibilities.

Open Electronic Experimentation:

The Microvolt 3900 is patched internally and does not require patch cables to dial in a wide variety of unique and powerful sounds. For deeper experimentation, the Microvolt 3900 includes a 39-point Eurorack format friendly 1/8" jack patchbay for complete signal routing control over a full complement of audio and modulation options. Notes: The Pittsburgh Modular System 10.1 Synthesizer is huge sound hiding in a small case. Updated for 2015 to include the new extremely featured Midi 3 module, the System 10.1 offers direct access to a wide array of modern, analog monosynth sounds. Without a single patch cable, floor shaking bass and aggressive leads are just a few knob tweaks away. Plugging in a few patch cables opens the Pittsburgh Modular System 10.1 Synthesizer to complex experimentation by offering unlimited control over both the modulation and audio signal paths. The E44 and E66 overcome this by positioning a 1.25", silk dome high-frequency driver between two 4.5" (E44) or 6.5" (E66) midrange drivers. The two smaller woofers work in parallel to partially contain the dispersion of the tweeter, minimizing phase displacement. The result is incredibly detailed stereo imaging.

Both the E44 and the E66 feature two midrange drivers that cover the same frequency range. The drivers are placed so that their acoustic centers are less than one wavelength apart for any of the frequencies they reproduce; as a result, the combined signal of both drivers propagates forward like a single waveform. This makes the comparatively small midrange drivers in the E44 and E66 behave like a single, larger driver. This mutual coupling provides a highly dynamic output in a compact footprint.

Sound waves radiating from the two components in a conventional speaker design can interfere with one another, creating peaks at some frequencies and dips at others, and these will vary depending on where the listener is relative to the speaker. In an MTM configuration, component interference, and the sonic inconsistencies that go with it, are minimized. This affords listeners an ultra-wide sweet spot and a more consistent listening experience on- and off-axis.

The E44 and E66 utilize custom-woven Kevlar low-frequency drivers. This provides a more constant dispersion pattern throughout the frequency range, resulting in less time-smeared audio and cleaner overall sound. The weave and nature of the dual Kevlar woofers also helps break up reflected energy, so fewer delayed reflections reach the listener's ear. In conjunction with the MTM configuration, this works to create a transparent, cohesive sound.

Many MTM configurations must be arrayed vertically, rather than horizontally, because vertical placement provides a clear, interference-free midrange and treble reproduction to either side, expanding the sweet spot. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology that enables network cables to carry electrical power to compatible devices. With PoE, a single cable delivers both network data, such as digital audio, and electrical power. Four of the SW5E's five ports can provide PoE, a rare feature in the current generation of AVB switches. Notes: In 2016 RME released the ADI-2 Pro. With a lot of fresh ideas, innovative features and numerous useful functions it rolled up the AD/DA converter scene and quickly became a reference for both AD- and DA conversion. Equipped with two Extreme Power headphone outputs it also found its way into HiFi and home use, getting countless rave reviews for its sound, flexibility and technical prowess.

To address the home and HiFi users, RME exchanged some of the Pro's studio features with typical home and HiFi ones. With an adapted feature set and much simplified operation RME proudly presents the ADI-2 DAC. Built on the technology, concept and features of the ADI-2 Pro, the DAC concentrates on DA conversion in top high-end quality, along with two exceptional outputs for headphones and IEMs, and - a remote control.

Packed into the compact half 19" format factor, this little gem is filled with the finest high-end electronics, offering a reference class conversion from SPDIF coaxial, SPDIF optical (ADAT compatible) and USB to RCA, XLR, TRS and mini-TRS.

As the most versatile DAC available, the ADI-2 DAC offers balanced/unbalanced analog outputs, an Extreme Power headphone output, a super low noise IEM output, SteadyClock FS, 4-stage hardware output level control, DSP-based signal processing, external power supply operation, Class Compliant USB compatibility and sample rates up to 768 kHz as well as DSD and Direct DSD playback. The SPDIF input signal can even be recorded via USB - as one would expect from RME the DAC is a true 2 channel Full Duplex audio interface.

Improving DA:

With the DAC RME engineers took the opportunity to slightly enhance the DAC's analog output stage to be even more perfect as it already was. More relays, a different double symmetrical attenuator circuit and one additional buffer OP amp succeed in less noise and less THD. As the DAC-chip is the limiting factor here this is hard to measure, but nevertheless an important improvement, especially at lower hardware output levels typical for Cinch/RCA usage. The new hardware reference levels of +13 dBu, +7 dBu, +1 dBu and -5 dBu also add to this.

Super Low Noise for IEM lovers:

The headphone revolution not only brought headphones but also IEMs (in ear monitors) back into the attention of audiophiles and music lovers. Modern IEMs have a reference sound that easily competes with bulky over-ear headphones, making them not only a mobile alternative, but also an interesting solution in home.

Modern IEMs are extremely sensitive and operate on very low voltages. As a side effect they uncover the noise floor of the player, DAC or headphone amp. When RME developed its Extreme Power headphone stage the basic noise floor was taken care to be as low as possible. Which was then confirmed in many reviews (most black background...). Even when used with IEMs.

Lights Out:

A studio converter with all lights off? Defective. But on a DAC it was one of the most often requested features from our ADI-2 Pro HiFi customers. Here we go: display, function keys, volume knob, even the standby button - they all go off after 10 seconds of no user operation when AutoDark is activated in the unit's menu. Touching any button or control will turn on all lights for 10 seconds. Using the remote AutoDark can also be switched off/on, and using any button on the remote turns lights on for 3 seconds. Once again: we're sure you will love it!

SteadyClock FS:

The ADI-2 DAC is the first device in RME's range with SteadyClock FS. There is not much to improve with SteadyClock, it has earned its accolades over years of flawless operation in numerous RME devices, guaranteeing that using the internal clock will produce exactly the same sound as when using an external one. SteadyClock highly rejects jitter and handles all digital interface formats in an exemplary way. That's why SteadyClock's design and behaviour didn't change in the DAC.

Final Chord:

The ADI-2 DAC includes an improved SteadyClock, a fine-tuned to perfection analog circuitry, remote control, Extreme Power headphone output and a very special IEM output. It has all the bells and whistles that made the ADI-2 Pro famous, including its perfectly transparent sound signature and full DSP processing with Bass, Treble, Loudness, 5 Band Parametric EQ, Crossfeed and much more. Two-oscillator virtual synthesizer featuring an X/Y field for phase distortion control
Notes: At the Dutch Dancefair 2014, DJ Promo (aka producer Sebastian Hoff) and DJ Free-K (aka producer Freek Vergoossen) approached Rob Papen with the idea of a synthesiser that focused more on 'distorted' sounds with an easy to use layout.

Renowned for delivering fresh, cutting edge and musical plugins for producers, Rob Papen invited the DJs to his studio for a brainstorming session resulting in a list of 'must have' features and tools for a brand new synth. Armed with this list and several more brainstorming sessions later, Rob Papen and his development team created a powerful new virtual synth RAW.

RAW has two oscillators each with an X/Y field, (as included in Blade and BLUEII) to distort the waveform using Phase Distortion. But that's not all, you can also draw two of your own 'waveforms' and use them as LFO waveforms enabling the creation of unique 'wobble' movements that are perfect for for DubStep and other electronic music styles.

RAW has all the great Rob Papen filters to shape your sound further, but in a refreshing twist, 'EQ', 'Waveshaper', 'Distortion' and 'LoFi' have also been added on a voice synthesis level. Featuring a heavy duty metal body and internally shock mounted 1/2" condenser capsule mounted for end-address, the M3 is at home in the studio, on stage or on location and is equally suitable as a vocal microphone, guitar microphone, drum microphone or presenter microphone.
