Review: Swiss label Drumpoet has been one of those super reliable outlets that serves up good quality deep house. It has now been doing so for 15 years and marks the occasion with a bumper triple vinyl collection featuring 13 cuts from all the label's finest associates. There is brilliantly left-of-centre minimal from Roman Flugel and Frank Weidermann to kick off, then melody-rich deep house from Bubble Wrap, and an absolute classic from the one and only Herbert who supplies 'Air.' Plenty more lushness comes from the likes of Fred Everything and Ripperton to make this a fine collection.

Review: Marc Leclair may have become best known for his Akufen work in the 00s, but his Horror Inc work is surely some of his finest. Taking the slinky micro house he pioneered and turning it to more cinematic purposes, his last album under the name was 2013's incredible Briefly Eternal on Perlon. Now he revives the project with this expansive suite for Ohm Hourani's Anoma label, which is appropriately tipped towards jazzy subtleties within machine music. With each release, Horror Inc becomes a deeper, subtler concern, and so it goes on this record where the springy, swung patterns are offset by half-hidden melodic murmurs and a generous dose of mystery as Leclair takes his conceptual project further into the realms of playfully spooky micro jazz.

Review: It's fair to say that few other labels would retain such a degree of consistency and adventure over the duration of a compilation series as Cocoon have done with their alphabetized collections. Arriving at the letter N, Sven Vath's label once again draws together tracks from artists close to Cocoon as well as some less associated across six slabs of vinyl. If you graced Ibiza over the summer season you may well have heard papa Vath dropping some of the tracks contained within at Cocoon's residency at Amnesia. In terms of tracklisting, it's a typically diverse affair with the various shades of techno from Lucy, Ricardo Tobar and Truncate complemented by the presence of Aril Brikha, Markus Fix, Ripperton and more.

Review: Sven Vath's label belatedly celebrates the landmark of passing the hundred release mark with this triple vinyl box set. Given the scale - 3LP complemented by expanded 2CD - and those involved it's no surprise that the Cocoon 100 Box Set took that bit longer coming together and those of a techno and minimal persuasion will undoubtedly salivate at this tracklisting. Everyone from Ricky Villalobos to Lawrence and Nick Curly via Loco Dice and Extrawelt contribute previously unreleased productions and the mood is as diverse as you'd expect from this list. "Arild" finds Villalobos in typically restrained mood, whilst Dial boss Lawrence conjures up a hypnotic production in "Serpentine" that has a touch of the STLs about it. Deep acid, rowdy drum tracks, abstract and psychedelic productions follow (Secret Cinema's "Supertek" is a notable example) and that's just on the vinyl. Sven mate you're spoiling us.

Review: Despite Traum Schallplatten only establishing the Telrae sub label in 2010, the dub techno operation has been in remarkably prolific form, dropping some fifteen EPs from the likes of Salz, Martin Schulte, Reimut Van Bonn and Sven Weisseman. They close proceedings on 2012 in the best way possible with the rather dashing Archive Box Set, an 11 x 10" coloured vinyl package brandishing some 22 tracks. Most of the aforementioned artists contribute, as do Stefan Gubatz, Tobias Horberg and Deepchild for a Telrae showcase that will appeal equally to the dub techno completists and limited edition vinyl lovers.

Review: It's hard to know where to start with this one. Weighing in at a whopping six 12"s and some rather lovely packaging, Arkives Analog 1993-2010 is a super-sized Richie Hawtin career retrospective and then some. The timing couldn't be better - last year Hawtin revived the Plastikman pseudonym for a world tour that seemingly hasn't stopped for 12 months, and he has professed delight at presenting his seminal music to a new generation of electronic music lovers. There's absolutely no doubt that the Canadian has made some terrific techno, ambient and electronica in the last two decades, and Arkives boasts long-forgotten remixes to dancefloor classics, with the likes of Matthew Dear, Moby, Green Velvet, Dubfire, Francois K, Mathew Jonson and Carl Craig all appearing. In a word, essential.

Review: If you are part of the demographic of Art Department fans who like their tote bags to be leather then this ltd edition of the Canadian tech house duo's second LP is for you! When announcing the release of Natural Selection, Johnny White and Kenny Glasgow promised a more "mature and experimental sound". Certainly, the album is a more wide-ranging and atmospheric album than their club-friendly debut, The Drawing Board. While there are forays into dancefloor-centric material - see Seth Troxler hook-up "Cruel Intentions" and the analogue techno pulse of the delay-laden "Hunt" - for the most part the duo sticks to a slower tempo, drawing influence from IDM, new wave (see "Crazy"), maudlin trip-hop, ambient and downbeat pop. As a result, Natural Selection is a surprisingly varied and inventive full-length.

Review: Gorje Hewe serves up his debut album here on home label All Day I Dream, and it is a perfect fit for Lee Burridge's imprint. By now even passing house fans will know what to expect from this crew - ethereal soundscapes, dreamy pads and whimsical motifs that drift by like tiny insects on a hot day. Plenty of guests help to add subtle details that make the record standout, from longtime label mate Lost Desert on 'Aya,' to M.O.S on the mysterious and energetic 'Amulet.' Amonita, Makebo, and Volen Sentir also feature on three respective tunes and each one adds up to masterfully well paced and delightful organic house for those who like it heady.

Review: 32 years after their fittingly titled single 'Anthem' became one of the biggest crossover club hits of 1990, Food Music has decided to celebrate the career of leading rave-era duo N-Joi. It's a welcome development, not least because many of the pair's singles and cult cuts have lasted the test of time rather well. For proof, check out the bleep (and Unique 3 in particular) inspired 'Techno Gangsters', the bouncy piano-house rush of 'Jah Heaven', the raw, stab-happy breakbeat hardcore insanity of 'Manic' and the breathless, warehouse-ready acid techno stomp of 'Mindflux'. Review: Marc Romboy launched Systematic in 2005 and it has since gone on to release music from producers as diverse as Mike Dunn and Fur Coat, through to Robert Babicz, Pongo as well as Romboy's own productions - garnering a reputation for emotive strains of house and techno. Music From Space (Dimension A) is a nine track various artists compilation that is inspired by Romboy's Music From Space radio show, and features exclusive recordings. Croatian hypnotic techno expert Petar Dundov is in fine form always on the spellbinding groove of 'Andante', Mobilee staple Rodriguez Jr serves up some meditative and introspective polyrhythms on the ultra deep "Mare Serenitatis", while veteran producer Scan X creates deep space sonar transmissions on "Stellar Nebula" and Munich-based Julian Wassermann's "The Red Planet" is epic dancefloor drama at its finest.

Review: Rebolledo's brilliant 2016 album Mondo Alterado gets the remix treatment, with an impressive selection of production talents taking it in turns to tweak the Mexican's work. There's much to admire throughout, with highlights including a thrusting, low-slung and trippy revision by Maceo Plex, a deliciously woozy and loved-up interpretation from Superpitcher (think Balearic-meets-post-punk-meets-Teutonic tech-house), a thrillingly percussive take on "Pow Wow Wow" by occasional Optimo Music sorts The Fantastic Twins, and a pair of next-level rubs from Mike Simonetti, whose acid-flecked "Discotico Simonettico En Panico" version could well be the best of the bunch. Throw in a smattering of typically heavy and eccentric Rebolledo originals, and you have an essential, floor-friendly selection.

Review: Last year, East End Dubs ended his Social series after releasing 10 sought-after EPs in just under three years. "Social Part 2" is the second boxed retrospective of this work; while the first edition gathered together EPs one to five, this sequel boasts numbers six to ten. The 15 included tracks are all up to the prolific producer's high standards, offering an attractive late night blend of swinging tech-house rhythms, rich bass, spacey pads, intergalactic melodies and atmospheric aural textures. There's little filler or fluff, just quality peak-time grooves, occasional warm-up workouts and a sprinkling of loved-up anthems-in-waiting (see the delicious "Track 6" and glassy-eyed "Track 8").

It's thus a horizon-expansion for the international star DJ, who professes to many more influences on this project than just his house contemporaries.

Review: Innervisions presents the 14th edition of its Secret Weapons series. This breaks-inflected, glossy, and high-octane release is emblematic of what we might call experimental EDM, all of which is chart-worthy yet not overblown. Glowal's 'Encore' opens the compilation, Bicep-style, in which we hear rave-trance stabs complemented by military snare rolls in the pre-drop, before a triumphant breakbeat sets in thereafter. It gets weirder and weirder from there, as 'Olden Daze' opts for all kinds of experimental tomfoolery, and 'Ara' works jackin' house vocal science into a beat more fitting for '70s industrial music than the '20s charts. This is an eclectic yet euphoric dance compilation from the masterminds Dixon and Ame.

Review: Frost and Einzelkind's Pressure Traxx captures the evolution of minimal tech house over the past ten years, as the rigour of functional 4/4 gave way to different rhythms and motifs from the wider dance music lexicon. It was a smart move which helped reinvigorate the scene, and while they didn't do it on their own they absolutely fuelled the fire. Ten years in, their label is certainly due a retrospective which stretches out over eight sides of next-level workouts for long blends and marathon sets. The cast of characters hardly needs explaining - from Tobias and Villalobos to Edward and John Dimas, the quality never lets up and in one smartly arranged box set you're going to be gifted with the finest minimal in recent circulation.
