Review: Following his Sensory Deprivation full length back in 2017, which picked up plenty of applause, Tomohiko Sagae makes a similarly bold return with his brutal Entrainment EP. There are just 200 copies on gold vinyl including a hand-numbered art print, and each one brims with industrial texture and techno bleakness. 'Black Mist' is a flurry of white noise layered up over distorted drums. 'Tense Atmosphere' is a nightmarish speed over dose and yet 'Side Effects' manages to sound even more intense and impenetrable with its fuzzy, fizzing sonics making your ears tickle. 'Defensive Pessimism' is an uncompromising closer which makes all that went before sound genteel.

Review: Justin Francazio first emerged as Submersion with an album on Silent Season back in 2008, and that label affiliation should give you a strong idea of the realm his music moves in. There's a consistent thread throughout his catalogue, which now arrives at Lithuanian label Greyscale in evocative blooms of ambience which mask the consistent whispering pulses of dub techno. This is deep listening fare from start to finish, with patient ebbs and flows in the music and a steady rhythmic drift to guide your mind. Rarely has an artist's name so aptly conjured up the sound of their craft - an art they've been perfecting over an accomplished career, and sounding better than ever on this latest release.
