Fine-Tuning Problems (5:44)
Getting Closer To An Unknown Goal (7:53)
Review: Icelandic techno veteran Yagya enjoys a release on X/OZ that celebrates both new and old material. The tempo is noticeably ramped up on "One Weak Light" but never at the expense of that dark and mysterious Icelandic hue. "Existence Is Weird" is no slouch either, but Yagya shapes out his atmospheres with such a refined touch that you barely notice how quick the tracks are running. "A Very Long Daydream" is a gorgeous ambient track dug out of the archives, while "Getting Closer To An Unknown Goal" sees the re-release of a track Yagya released as Rhythm Of Snow back in 1999.

I Want You Back (2:04)
Review: More south Salento homeboys represent on Robert Crash's New Boy Shit Trax imprint; this time in the form of local stalwart Marco Erroi; the man behind the legendary Squat Party events (with Beppe Vivaz) and the Common Series label. Unpredictable as ever, Erroi presents four oddball grooves that defy categorisation but are pretty awesome in their own right. Starting out with the slo-mo, lo-fi techno of "I'm Just Getting' Fired Up", there's then some seriously tunnelling acid deconstruction on "Radio Interference" that'll really get you travelling without moving! On the flip, the title track presents an ensemble of rusty and dusted down drum machines working in perfect mayhem together. Finally "I Want You Back" is an odd recording from a wasted Sunday morning from way back, with some disco oddity playing in the background.

Viral Dread
Review: Ali Renault's techno bludgeon instrument Vivod gets another notch in its handlebar with this appearance from new Glaswegian venture UNI.OMNI. It's rasping, rabid stuff with distortion and noise in abundance, but these wild elements are actually wielded with a firm grip on opening beast "Acceptance Resistance". "Metaphysical Lives" meanwhile channels some wave influences while keeping up the sense of foreboding, "Sequential Self" gets into a death disco spiral complete with beyond the grave vocals and "Viral Dread" goes even further into the graveyard while keeping the stiff dancefloor pressure dial turned up to 11.

Last Moment Jam (5:40)
Drums Jam (with Grachov) (4:24)
Buchla 909 Jam (9:57)
Review: Cocktail d'Amore Music returns from a short hiatus with a new release from Russian producer TMO. The three tracks are tied together by a propensity for heavy rhythm construction and distorted acid lines, executed to great effect. Opening with "Last Moment Jam" , a searing main room projectile, TMO presents what is heavily inspired by early Chicago acid track. For those looking for something on the trippier end, "Drums Jam" provides a low bpm hallucination full of delays. Closing is, "Buchla 909 Jam", a 10 minute slow burn exercise in analog fundamentals for late night fantasies.

Track 4
Review: Blundar is a label shrouded in mystery, although it seems aligned with artists like Lowtec and those orbiting crews like Smallville. The latest transmission on the dusty house imprint comes from STL, whose disheveled sounds is a natural fit for what has come before on Blundar. "Track 1" peers through a thick haze of smoke, exhaling pads and drones and keeping the bass pulsing throughout. The rest of the EP is given over to experimental and ambient tones, with the second track on Side B being an especially arresting piece loaded with melancholic contemplation. It's another strong addition to the Blundar repertoire, and another example of STL's skills and adaptability in the studio.

Wars Of Truth (Reseen)
Review: Meanwhile returns having celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary, not by releasing a swanky box set, but by taking a year off. First release on the fully rejuvenated meanwhile is from Sen AKA John Shern who forms part of the Satellite Religion collective along with G.r.i.t, Future Thought Tapestries, Channel 73 and Space_ci. Here he delivers 25 minutes of deepest machine music spread over 2 tracks. A side Future Thoughts Jazz is a deep drifting Detroit infused journey through the far reaches of outer space, while the B Side Wars of Truth(reseen) is an epic slice of heavy clanking industrial rhythms and deep textures. The release is also the first to feature artwork commissioned by sometime Meanwhile recording artist Samuel Van Dijk aka Mohlao, Inward Content, VC118a, Multicast Dynamics. So, both sonically and visually this release sits perfectly within the meanwhile catalogue of quality not quantity.

Arise & Shine (6:09)
Review: Back once again on Hungary's singular Tape Hiss imprint, RDMA cuts a mysterious figure as per usual and, of course, bashes out some puristic techno waves like few others at the moment. Driven by a rugged and wholesome techno sound that owes much to the Detroit school of thought, tunes like "Passion Dance" and "To A Wild Rose, which dominate the EP's A-side, bounce and pounce with a forward mentality; the sound is dubby and dark, the only mission being to get people up and nodding their heads the blistering 4/4 showers. There's three more bangers on the flip, from the watery and disparate paths of "Blue In Green", to the minimal flex of "Arboretum", and the mechanical movements of "Arise & Shine". If you like you're techno raw and unfiltered, then you've hit the jackpot.

Review: Deep house don Brad Peterson started the Common Dreams label and alias back in 2014 as another outlet for his prolific strain of machine soul. Various artists have graced the label including John Shima and Dan Piu, but now Peterson returns to steer the ship himself with a new project entitled Ancient Trees vs Skyscrapers. It's not hard to ascertain the ideas bubbling away behind the release, and sure enough Peterson rolls out exquisite synthesis which ebbs and flows with a fluidity which feels inspired by nature, albeit still very much in the context of crisply rendered deep house and techno with a Motor City influence.

Review: Electronic pop act Penelope are the second release on fellow Swede Pjotr's label. The band offers up three 'dystopian pop songs' spanning from the futuristic, villainous R&B of "What I Gotta Do" to the trance-filled breakbeat of "Rattlesnake". Saarbrucken's finest Roger 23 delivers two versions of the title track; the "Under Influence Of Red Nasty Nyponsoppa Disco mix" is a dark and strobed-out epic while the second (Controversy Turning dirty Super dub) is jacking analogue house that would make even Jamal Moss or John Heckle stand up and notice. The killer EP closes out with a droning hypnotic techno version of "Rattlesnake" (Physical Therapy Watersports On Hard Surfaces Only mix).

Infiltrator
Review: ***B-STOCK: Record has very light surface marks/smudges with creasing to corner of outer sleeve, but otherwise in perfect working order***

After launching last year with Who, Get Your Copy returns to the fray with a little help from Italian powerhouse Steve Murphy. The producer gets plenty of action on labels like Hot Haus, Chiwax, Lobster Theremin and more besides, so you know you're going to get a solid dose of tuff house business delivered with that gutsy Roman attitude. "Everything U Know" channels an abundance of 90s vibes, from the nagging chord stab to the understated speech sample, while "Infiltrator" takes a tribal direction without losing the old-skool flavour. Both cuts are perfectly shaped for the dance, whether you want to hit a peak time note or take the crowd deep into the groove.

Review: Moon Temple is the new project of Gabriel Andruzzi and if the name sounds vaguely familiar; you probably know him from his involvement in a popular punk-funk band that was active in the mid noughties. This nine track album is Andruzzi's first release under this alias and follows up Moon Temple I, also released this week. According to WT, the album is a collection of "delicate interludes, acid stompers and weirdo spastic mechanical marches." Starting out with the early nineties, Plastikman sounding hardware techno jam "The Short Dance", there's the pounding and stripped hard techno of "Ocean Of Storms" (which calls to mind locals like Shawn O'Sullivan) and the deep and drifting hypnotism of "Lake Of Forgetfulnes".

Review: Zurich outfit Les Points have previously impressed by developing a distinctively lo-fi, do-it-yourself style of tech-house. That style comes to the fore on this Eklo-released 12", with each of the five tracks bristling with the sounds of outboard hardware and spontaneous sound processing. They begin with the acid-flecked, electro/techno fusion of "ProjectErzame", before showcasing the crunchy drum machine handclaps, chiming melodies and bustling acid bass of "IDM778". Elsewhere, they successfully go deeper and woozier via the head-nodding hum of "Projektsektork", pay a whirlwind visit to the Motor City on the unpronounceable "Projektjezmueschlueggend" (think early Model 500 dragged through a hedge backwards), and reach for the stars on EP highlight "Hescdolby".

Track 1 (6:53)
Track 2 (5:54)
Track 3 (5:03)
Review: Having just made a splash with a 12" of adventurous leftfield techno, Intercepts simultaneously emerges as an inventive force in the field of electro too. Again, we get three shadowy producers stepping out at a mean clip, with 'Track 1' running faster than average and revelling in razor sharp edits that split the difference between braindance, d&b and machine funk and come up with dark, sinewy gold. 'Track 2' eschews the kicks and works a few more melodic elements into the mix for a starry-eyed piece with an underlying spookiness. Then 'Track 3' locks into something much more upfront with a chunky lead hook and satisfyingly dirty drums. There's serious flex in the synth work here, suggesting someone that may have been honing their craft for some time already. Electro heads take note - this is something different.
