First out of the blocks is the nice and futurist 'Foreknowledge' with its beeps and pulses colouring steely tech grooves. 'Controversial Sequence' is more zoned out with balmy pads bringing some far-sighted cosmic ambiance and 'Experiment X' on the flip does as all B1 cuts should - gets more loose and weirder for the late-night crew with wispy melodies and panning synth drones. 'Revolution' shuts down with a nice rueful and melancholic feel in the pads.

Review: The Future Sound Of Sardinia follow hot on the heels of London, fixing yet one more cog to their prospective time machine with a new V/A compilation. 'Centuconcas' welcomes one contribution each from Claudio PRC, Agi Thoriu, Andrea Ferlin, and Jarpp. Each artist is caught exercising a deeper-into-their-own-pysches dub flavour than usual; PRC's sonic epigraph 'Uraki' is an impressive demonstration, unconsciously driving its sticky chording ricochets unto semi-conscious ears; Thoriu's 'Aressi' follows up with a neat fusion, yielding something between ambient future garage and a deep tribal entrainment; Ferlin's 'Hydra' is far more muted and operational in mood, veering more on lo-fi tech; and to close, Jarpp summons his inner MPC for 'Su Passu Turrau', taking its namesake from a traditional Italian line dance (but in actuality, the track sounds like nothing of the sort, unless we entertain the idea that this is the soundtrack to a line dance beamed in from the future...)

Review: Romain Reynaud is one of the most respected names in techno for the past 15 years and over the last handful, he has also evolved to dabble in other styles as well. One of those different names he uses to create other styles is Brako and tthis is the fifth record he's made under this newer offshoot. 'Bandit' on the first side should really work well on the dancefloor regardless of their experience level in dance music. The beat is catchy and the rhythm is ideal to work in any part of an up-beat house DJ set. The underlying melodic parts sneak up on you which adds and extra treat for the depth of the production. 'Try To Make' is a perfect opener, riding on a sweetly swung groove with heavy, subby bass down low and Mood II Swing style dub chords chopping in up top. 'Othirty' is a more delicate affair with some psychedelic sound sweeps which really elevate the track into exciting new realms - something which could send an after hours dance spiralling. 'Stripped' locks back into that heads-down bounce from the first track and then the 'M Groove' mix of the track slips some extra funky percussion into the blend to make it a sassy strutter for the ages.

He heads down a minimal path here with 'Dem Swing' a kinetic mix of dry hits and well swung kicks and tripped-out FX. 'Mind Designer' then gets deeper, with more lovely hits this time landing on tight drum patterns that are detailed with whirring synths and chopped-up vocals. The flip side is taken up by 'Trouser In The Heat', a more manic cut with dense percussive layers and edgy synths that never settle and always keep you guessing. Another fine statement from this top Thai talent.

Review: Who remembers Johhny D? Assuming it is the same one, he had one of the most standout tech house cuts of the second wave some 15 or so years ago on Nick Curly's influential Mannheim label Cecille. Here he joins up with Filou on Pleasure Zone for a trio of smartly designed and slick deep tech cuts. 'Esie' is one to zone out to in the dead of night, 'Static' has a more suspensory and edgy feel with its unresolved loops and 'Digging' shuts down with the best synth work of the lot - deft lines, neon hues and curious chords all add colour to the icy beats.

Review: It has been a while since we heard from Subb An, the Brummy beatmaker who arose on the crest of a new school house wave more than 15 years ago now. He lands on My King Is Light here with a nice and stylish EP that brings dub and minimal to his usual tech sounds. 'Hoarfrost' is an icy and frictionless opener rippled with soft melodies that soothe the soul. 'Hoarfrost' (Meditation dub) is a beatless lullaby, and 'Point Of View' then brings a little more drive but still has plenty of depth to its designs. 'Breeze' is the best of the lot - a nice Bluetrain-style dub-out for the afters.

Review: Standout Romanian producer makes a welcomed visit to the Rawax camp. The 'Metaphor EP' is a sublime example of superior primetime house music. 'The Wine Glass' is most optimal for dense crowds not worried about a little sweat and perhaps not enough foot space on the dancefloor. In fact, they love that! This is that kind of house music where you get happily drawn to the floor. 'Heal Dealer' adds a bit of acid and a beautiful underlying melody that is perfect for eyes closed listening moments. 'Doremi' is the ideal B-side as the deeper side to things, then the title track finishing off in style. Ali brings a great balance of techno and house to his sound. Review: Costin RP may be well entrenched in the Romanian scene, but his sound isn't particularly beholden to the assumed Rominimal sound. On his latest missive for Pleasure Zone he demonstrates this perfectly with the limber synth flex of 'Take Eat', the kind of stand out slice of after hours brain fodder which absolutely deserves its own side of vinyl to stretch out on. The flip side cut is pointedly titled 'Last Moments Of Sunset' and while the balmy, woozy sound may well sink into the horizon comfortably you could just as easily picture it working a warm-up slot in a club or lighting the way through a murky after hours set.

Review: Rupert Hartick made quite an impression with his debut release on Pleasure Zone in 2022, and the eagle-eared out there might have copped his drop on Konfus last year. Now he's graduated to the unstoppable Rawax with a four-tracker of sophisticated tech house for the discerning dancer. 'Sweet Dreams' has a meandering, hallucinatory quality helped no end by the amorphous synth tones shimmering over the top of the slinky, shuffling beat. 'Wiggle System' is an entirely different proposition marked out by snaking electro with a mellow demeanour. 'Smokin Kims' is also electro in its construction, but there's a very different flavour to the synths, which warp and writhe through some exquisite sound design. 'Leftback' maintains the thoughtful, original approach Hartick takes across the release, all while offering a different slant to his productions focused more on brittle percussion and FX tweaking.

Review: Soon, Real Gang Records founder Danny Miller will release a fine joint EP with long-serving West Coast tech-house hero Jay Tripwire. First, though, there's the small matter of this solo three-tracker, whose title - Dracula - references an alternative productive alias last used in 2021. He doffs a cap to hip-house on the devilishly bass-heavy and deliciously driving A-side, 'The Ways Are Mystic', which sounds like his usual brand of after-hours tech-house on steroids. Miller then reaches for creepy spoken word samples from vintage moves on flip-side opener 'F*ck The Future', whose bumpin' beats and bassline come cloaked in unsettling chords and minor-key electronics, before showcasing rumbling 'dark garage' bass, skipping beats and wonky noises aplenty on closing cut 'Groove Hammer'.

Review: Burnski's Constant Black kicks with yet more robust tech house for considered dance floors. This one comes from the ever-present underground stalwart Diego Krause and he opens with 'Bound', a perfectly driving and deep cut with slinky drums and smart vocals that are brought to life with sci-fi synth effects. 'Munro' is brilliantly lithe and elegant, with wispy synth motifs peeling off a super smooth and slinky groove. 'Phantom' ups the pace with a little more tech house urgency but still plenty of deftly designed cosmic pads. 'Flux' shuts down with kinetic, tightly coiled drum funk and popping neon colours. Great work all around from Krause.

Review: The latest release from the French label Zingiber Audio is simply called Split EP #001 and it features the label founder Cor100 (Thibaut Corsant) and the UK duo Acanalar. For the first side Cor100 gives us the super slick tribal builder 'Housetest 2'. The track takes through ups and downs that allow any DJ playing it to transfer perfectly to any direction you wish to take it. Nice groove! 'Vase De Chine' on the other hand, is an addictively sexy dancefloor heater. On the second side, 'PO144' is a deep chugging more minimalistic track with some nice melodic elements surrounding it. 'PO148' finishes the EP with a fun romp into a more tribal psychedelic zone. The label's 12th release to date brings us four classy tracks to enjoy.

Review: Slinky nighttime acid tech from Cirkel Square, laying down his debut 'Outside The Dome' EP for Subwax. Despite the title's focus on the hemispherical exterior, this is actually a two-track study on both the inside and outside of said dome. We begin life inside the hydroponic homestead, with surreptitious trance-acid and dimly lit pads suggestive of a secret plot to escape. The B-side's 'Outer Limits' responds with a more excitable jaunt, though by no means has our escape plan been scuppered by the authorities, with the mood continually driving, techy and methodical. Two remixes from Len Lewis and Magnus Asberg only add to the edge-of-your-seat excitement.

Review: Now this one's one to feast your ears on. After successful releases on Ba Dum Tish, What NxT, Dark Side Of The Sun and Interweaved Records, Boss Priester comes back strong with the 'Trixy' EP on Salty Nuts. A four-track bonanza of whimsical whackouts, the concept here could be described as speed garage blended with a sound effects board controlled by Mr. Oizo in a Banana Splits outfit. 'Trixy' is the right name for it; though not itself a word, the coinage captures something of the trickiness of 4x4 and the tricksy connives of a psychedelic con artist. Indeed, Priester acknowleges this one's 'Not 4 Every 1', but that doesn't stop him from engaging the lightest-footed and -hearted samples and one-shots, whether they're chimpunked aporias or springy fidgets.

Review: After a superb debut release, Forgotten Coordinates is back with a follow-up from the eponymous artists behind the label and once again this is a tasteful excursion into the realms of minimalism and tech. 'Be Good To Me' pairs a snappy tech house drum and clap combo with some spaced out and intergalactic pads and a stone code classic vocal that will cause dance floor carnage. Things get punchy for 'Let's Get This' with its warped low ends and amped-up beats all seven to get you on your toes and vibing. Two classy and effective tunes for sure.

Review: Melody Of The Soul continue to explore their melodically charged strain of minimal tech house on this fourth release on their label, which leads in with the prog-tinted seduction of 'Night Owls'. It's subtly epic, charged with sweeps of orchestration which tease at a big drop to come. 'Flame' has a slightly more intimate, heads-down approach, but it's no less detailed and dynamically produced. 'Igako' explores some pop touches in the context of a bigger room sound which still holds fast to the slick tech house framework and 'Ask The Universe' takes a more delicate approach with pattering percussion and melancholic piano which will set any set off on a sentimental trip.

Review: Just when you think you've heard the last of Covid in music, along comes this Covid 2020 EP from Yotsume Music label head Saki Hiroaki, indicating that it was written during those most weird and dark times, specifically in the city of Kurashiki. 'I Say' (part 2) is a seriously silky deep house with wispy and liquid chords rippling out to an infinite horizon as the persuasive drums get you into the groove. 'Improvisation' is a more crisp tech cut but is still unhurried and detailed with nice deft synth curlicues and the trio of escapist gems is completed with 'TRAP'. This one again sinks you into a pillowy and gentle groove with muted chords drifting up top like clouds.

Review: Tetsu Shibuya, better known as simply Tetsu or BRISA is a Japanese producer and DJ known for works on the iconic Japanese Jazzy Sport imprint, King Street sub-label Nite Grooves and his own BRISA Music. Leading the EP is title-track 'Stir', in collaboration with Turbojazz BRISA delivers a classic slice of deep house built upon layers of bright stab sequences and loose organic percussion. Detroit's beloved Jon Dixon turns his hand to 'Stir' next, encapsulating the soul of his hometown in reshaping fragments of the original composition. The original of 'Reverie' opens the B-side, laying down a broken rhythm, low-pitched vocal hooks and elongated bass grooves for a more bruk tinged feel. Byron The Aquarius then extracts the core of 'Reverie' and spins it into bumpy, subtly nuanced house workout. Lastly the third original 'Flux' rounds out the release, shifting deeper in funkinfused realms with a playful plucked bass groove and heavily swung drums.

Review: The always-quality Lempuyang is back with a scorching pink vinyl that packs a deliciously deep dub techno punch. It is a collaboration between Hidden Sequence and Milly James that opens with the super smooth and aquatic 'Legends' which rolls along the ocean floor with sparse chords and alluring vocals drifting way up above the surface. The 'dub' strips them away and allows things to move even an even more heady manner while 'All I Need' has a little more drift but no less depth to it and a Paul Simmons Off Curve Re Rub brings upright drum kicks and a little extra skip in the beats to close out a heady EP.
