Review: It should take about two seconds to realise, if you didn't already know, that Eddie Vedder is the voice of Pearl Jam, one of the finest rock bands to come out of the US in the late stages of the 20th Century, and one of the outfit's four (yes, four) guitarists. Ranked by none other than Rolling Stone magazine as the seventh finest lead singer of all time, it's safe to say he's the kind of pedigree you want to venture out as a soloist.

Now four albums in his own name deep, Earthling may not be rewriting any rule books or pushing boundaries and our perception of what's possible, but it is an incredibly well conceived and executed heavy rock 'n' roll album, showcasing a man with seemingly infinite creative energy, here unleashing a combination of heartfelt alt, breakneck garage-grunge, and searing big room stuff that you'll struggle to forget after hearing just once. Review: You'll have to go pretty far to find anyone who doesn't crack a smile at the ever-so-slightly nasal tones of Tom Petty. The late-Earl of heartland and blues rock originally unveiled this record as his second solo full-length, back in 1994, and it earned triple-platinum sales for very good reason.

At times carefree and driven by a celebration of abandon as much as any time signature ('You Don't Know How It Feels', 'Wildflowers') in other moments reflective ('Don't Fade On Me'), and occasionally redemptive ('Crawling Back To You'), it is quite literally packed with the gamut of human emotion. And some very handy guitar work. Here extended (hence the All The Rest bit in the title), you also get an additional four discs of bang for your buck, including rare home recordings, live takes and alternative versions. We'll leave you to explore those, though.

Reissued and remastered for 'extreme sound quality', Joe Jackson's 'Body And Soul' finally gets the look back it deserves. Named ironically after Johnny Green's classic American jazz standard of the same name, Jackson's music at this point wasn't straight-up jazz, but rather jazz-intoned pop and latin, carefully constructed to only merely allude to the style. And than whirling uninventively through standards, too, the solo vocal wizard here crafts his own songs, from the sultry buzz of 'Loisaida' to the drum-clattering, brass-bursty hit single, 'The Verdict.'
