It found him working with his trusty New Power Generation and features the 'damn near 10 min' mix of the song 'Gett Off' which is sure to fire up any dancefloor. It was originally a single - also served up as a one-sider - to promote Prince's new band with a cover that boldly declared that "Nothing can stop Prince and the New Power Generation" and was only issued on 1500 copies, so this is a great treat for fans to own all these years later.

Limited edition, hand-stamped white label 12"s from Smoove, reworking as though each of its remixed originals were axiomatic expressions of sonic perfection. 'Dance', for example, has a well known 80s classic reworked to stomping, heavyweight perfection - stretching its vocals to breathy ecstasy. Meanwhile EWF's 'Can't Hide Love' and 'Playing Your Game, Baby' by a certain Mr White, unite over a similar subject matter; there's no point in hiding your love. All aboard the underground love train.

Review: This new, special recording of Mark Knopfler's anthemic 'Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)' has been recorded to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America. The iconic soundtrack cut was included as the central theme tune to the Film4/Bill Forsyth classic film, starring a young Peter Riegert, Peter Capaldi and Jenny Seagrove as would-be oil speculators stationed in a Scottish town, whose unfortunate proximity to such crude liquid capital spells doom, if not for the lead character's tearjerking change of heart. Knopfler's theme has gone down in history as a rare slice of new age/instrumental jazz-rock film music and few Local Hero watchers, in fact, fail to notice its special charm.
