Notes: Roucha Legio is a 12 dB /octave state-variable stereo multimode filter available on the Legio DSP+oscillator platform.

Noise Engineering received tons of requests for NE filters over the years, and Roucha Legio is their first dedicated release. The filter features lowpass, bandpass, and highpass settings and tracks frequency via the dedicated encoder and extremely accurate 1v/8va CV input. Roucha Legio's CV-controlled resonance parameter can go from clean to acidy-squelchy for bassline joy. Add CV for filter sweeps that will knock your socks off. Of course, because it's a Noise Engineering module, there's a Fold knob. Add wavefolding to the signal chain before, after, or both before and after the filter.

Noise Engineering have made it easy to carry out dramatic buildups and cuts with Roucha Legio. Just tap the encoder to bypass; tap again to turn the filter on again. Want to automate it? Send a gate into the Bypass input. The filter will remain bypassed as long as a high gate is present.

Roucha Legio is also a DSP and oscillator platform: users can change the firmware on any Legio module, 100% free, to any other firmware in the Legio series.

Notes: A Juno-inspired oscillator module? We're flattered, but credit has to go to Roland for this one. Based on the Juno-106's digitally-controlled analogue oscillators, the Castor & Pollux modernises the 80s design with a built-in LFO and hard sync.

Castor & Pollux is a dual oscillator that echoes back to the legendary Roland Juno but shines with its own unique, massive voice. Notes: Any signal can be expressed in terms of a few parameters: frequency, phase, amplitude and timbre. It is through modulation of these aspects that synthesists create electronic sound. With Generate 3, it is now possible to create a signal and control all its parameters by through-zero modulation within a single 12 HP wide module.

Everything starts with the exceptionally precise triangle-core voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) at the module’s heart. Through-zero linear frequency modulation (FM) enables rich yet pitch-stable FM sounds, by allowing the oscillator to run backwards into ‘negative frequencies’.

The resultant triangle wave is then processed by the through-zero phase modulator, providing a total phase shift range of 900°. Phase modulation offers an interesting alternative for FM, as it enables deep FM-type tones without actually changing the oscillation frequency.

The timbre of a signal is determined by its harmonic content. This full set of harmonics can be grouped into three main parts: the fundamental, even and odd harmonics. Generate 3’s harmonics generator separates out these three timbral ‘channels’. By adjusting their relative amplitudes, a vast array of different waveforms can be created, including but not limited to the classic sine, saw and square waves.

While the amplitudes can be adjusted manually, each timbral channel supports through-zero amplitude modulation, also known as balanced or ring modulation. When audio-frequency modulation signals are applied, the harmonics become ‘split’, enriching the spectrum.

In addition to all the usual analogue synthesis techniques, the extensive set of modulation options makes Generate 3 especially suited for exploring multiphonic synthesis: a monophonic source creating a complex timbre, much like throat singing, yet by electronic means.

Notes: Introducing SUM0, a voltage-controlled oscillator with expanded harmonic possibilities, in a Eurorack format.

The 4 classic waveforms are generated by a meticulously designed oscillation engine.

You can modulate its frequency and its pulse width thanks to its integrated LFO, capable of reaching audible frequencies to achieve expressive modulations with the simple touch of a switch.

Expand the voice of your system by creating complex waveforms and high harmonic content thanks to its output mixer. This mixer also has an input to integrate an external signal to the mix output.

Of course, all its parameters (FM, PWM, SYNC, V/OCT) are at your fingertips through its patch points on the front panel.

And of course, assembled with a load of passion in Bocuma's studio-workshop in Guadalajara.

Notes: Moonwalker is a versatile signal generator that performs as an envelope, lfo, and audio oscillator, with attack and decay time controls

Phase offset is continuously variable from 0 to 360° and inverts the waveform without changing it’s amplitude, and with or without changing it's polarity.

Unipolar mode preserves the output range by offsetting the starting voltage, so it always stays between 0 and +10v

Bipolar mode preserves the starting voltage by offsetting the output range, so it always starts at 0v. The output range will shift from +unipolar, through +bipolar, to -unipolar, through -bipolar back to +unipolar.

The reference waveform does not change phase, but the timing of the rate change between Attack and Decay shift with the phase offset, to ensure synchronous movement.

The phase offset output is half-normalled to the phase offset cv input and skews the waveform from triangle to saw or ramp without changing frequency (when attack = decay).

Koszalin is a full stereo frequency shifter with two inputs and four outputs. If offers simultaneous exponential and linear through-zero control of the amount of frequency shift in 3 carefully scaled ranges (up to +/- 5kHz). Frequency shifting results in linear translation of signal spectrum producing all kinds of atonal sounds. It should not be confused with frequency scaling, also known as pitch shifting. Several stereo feedback topologies are offered with additional density control besides feedback depth, which results in spectacular stereo barberpole effects.

Through-zero modulation allows for using Koszalin's input as an FM operator. Koszalin is a digital module with a DSP behind an analog interface.

Based loosely on the Buchla 100 series Gates, each channel boasts a discrete VCA with a rich overdrive sound, stereo panning, a tilt EQ and an easily accessible mute switch. Notes: Hue is an audio colour processing effect, in 6HP eurorack format. Hue is comprised of a chain of 5 effects (Drive, Filter, Tape Saturation, LoFi, Compressor). Each effect imparts a particular coloration, tone, distortion, and/or texture to the source audio. With Hue, Drums bang with more intensity & melodies morph into lush LoFi tones.

Hue's goal is to simply colour your sound. The initial concept was born of a debate about the techniques and processes used to make drum machines sound big, bold, and delicious. The sounds that tug at the hearts of boombap, LoFi, and subsequently modbap, enthusiasts are those that have great texture, lush degradation, soft distortion, and big bold strokes of colour. The classic beloved drum machines were often processed with outboard gear, recorded to tape, pressed to vinyl, played in big booming systems, sampled, and resampled and on and on. Ultimately, those are the sounds that become nostalgic and reminiscent of all that we love about classic LoFi boombap production. Hue is Modbap's attempt at bringing that vibe into eurorack with a cute little 6hp package.

The effects chain audio signal path is as follows; Drive, Filter, Tape Saturation, LoFi, Compressor. The panel layout allows for the DJ style filter knob to sit in first position for ease of tweaking. Drive boosts and lightly distorts the signal, while shift+Drive adjusts the Drive tone. The Filter is a low pass filter to the left and a high pass filter to the right. Tape effect is intended to impart cassette tape saturation, while shift+Tape adjusts the intensity. LoFi adjusts bit depth, while shift+LoFi adjusts sample rate. Lastly, the one knob compressor mini pot serves as the final glue in the signal path that brings it all together.CV inputs for Drive, Filter, Tape Saturation, and LoFi opens loads of creative possibilities. Notes: Zadar is a powerful, four-channel envelope, modulation, and transient generator, in a compact yet very complete, feature-rich package. It is capable of synthesising a vast palette of envelope shapes starting from hundreds of shapes stored in the memory. These starting shapes are not mere wavetables, but flexible vectors that can be stretched (from a fraction of a millisecond to half an hour), flipped, warped, distorted, delayed, shuffled, repeated, and amplitude modulated in real time. 'Akemie's Taiko' is an authentic complete FM synthesis based drum voice created using original Yamaha IC's. It builds on the same technology used in the mighty Akemie's Castle but in a more complete triggered voice form featuring both signal generation and envelope shaping.

The module provides CV and direct control over a number of FM parameters including algorithm selection, operator release envelopes, ratios, waveforms & feedback. This gives a massive range of unique sounds.

The voice is able to track 1 volt per octave allowing it to be used for melodic lines as well as percussion. Also optional 'frequency ramps' can be enabled for additional audio effects.

The drum voice includes a trigger input as well as accent and choke trigger inputs to add further expressive and rhythmic control.

Notes: Most musicians use their feet as an extension of their playing, either pushing piano pedals, sustain pedals, guitar pedals.

However, feet have been underrated while using modulars. In the past ADDAC released a series of modules using sustain and expression pedals for triggering or controlling signals to help breaking the ice. While these are small and still useful for simple uses, ADDAC wanted to create something more specific this time.

This new solution features 5 footswitches and 5 inputs for external expression pedals with independent controls for each.

The aim was to save HP rack space and so created an external floor pedal with all the footswitches and controls, keeping the module HP to the minimum possible featuring only the 10 outputs and the connector to the external floor pedal.

There are many expression pedals in the market and although the most common one is the TRS pedal there are 2 other standards: RTS and TS.

All five ADDAC311 inputs expect TRS pedals, if you're looking into buying one choose a TRS pedal.

If you already have other pedals channel 4 features jumpers that can be switched in order to be used with a RTS pedal.

Notes: The successor to Dinky's Taiko, Tyso Daiko is a 12-bit dual digital drum voice, with built-in analogue tilt EQ and wavefolder, plus extensive CV control. Intuitive, powerful and versatile.

The 'Tyso Daiko' is a dual 12-bit digital wavetable drum voice with full voltage control and an analogue EQ output path.

The twin voices are independently triggered and output, but share pitch, envelope and other parameters of a swept wavetable oscillator. One voice is output through a voltage controlled analogue tilt EQ emphasising upper or lower frequencies.

The other voice is output through a digital wavefolder which adds increasing timbral complexity (to noise).

Both voices respond independently to an accent input and the first voice is able to be 'choked' . A surface control allows for fine control of additional transients from a click to a slow attack. Notes: A couple of years back, Frequency Central developed Cosmic Background as a standalone percussion voice. The concept was to bundle all required sub-modules behind one panel, pre-patched, yet also fully modular, with each sub-module having its own inputs and outputs. This proved to be a very popular product, but Frequency Central decided to replace Cosmic Background's noise generator with a VCO (and do a few other tweaks), creating a cute little fully modular synth voice ripe for sequencing - and that's how Dark Star was born!

Dark Star consists of 4 sections:

Here are some useful patches to try:

Notes: The Ar Merc'het Brao module is comprised of two filters and two overdrives.

As usual at Touellskouarn it has a Breton name: Ar Merc'het Brao means "The pretty girls".

It can be used with a stereo signal or with two mono signals. The module is modular as well as guitar friendly.

The filters are resonant with a slope of -12dB. A switch allows to switch each filter from LowPass to HighPass. The filter cut-offs are voltage controlled thanks to dedicated CV inputs. Additionally, the Ar Merc'het Brao features global controls for cut-off and resonance.

Both overdrive sections offer the classic and well known TouellSkouarn distortion sound.

Notes: The Ensemble Oscillator is a unified polyphonic voice of sixteen complex oscillators combining additive, FM, phase-distortion and wavefolding synthesis techniques in new unorthodox ways. By quantizing the oscillators to scales or series of harmonics, the Ensemble Oscillator allows you to explore the sonic boundary between musical chords and rich evolving textures. Easily create a wide variety of sounds ranging from aggregates of pure sine waves to pulsar synthesis or pristine harmonic tones and lush wide chords to rich dirty drones and rumbling glitches. Custom scales can quickly be "learned" and saved using a CV keyboard or by manually entering notes with the controls.

Notes: The Triple Waveshaper (TWS) is a non-linear modifier which can transform a sawtooth wave into a sine wave. This classic module incorporates three independent waveshapers for modifying synthesizer waveforms or for processing signals from preamplified instruments. Although originally designed as a waveshaper for early Serge oscillators, this module has been found to be a excellent modifier of electronic and acoustic sounds, and is highly recommended for subtle timbral modifications beyond the range of simple oscillator/filter patches.

The R*S version extends the classic TWS concept:

+1: An additional (4th) waveshaper has been added (right after the first / bottom waveshaper) that can be dialed in smoothly using the +1 knob. Turned down (CCW) the bottom section acts as in the original (as if that additional waveshaper would not exist). Turned up (CW) the bottom section is actually 2 waveshapers in series.

Switches to link the 3 sections - bottom to top. Using these switches all sections can be set to act in series, starting at the bottom and ending at the top, providing the combined effect of 3 to 4 waveshapers (or anything in between) using the +1 knob.

Linking only the middle and top section and turning the +1 knob up (to have 2 sections in the bottom) allows you to use the module for isntance as two independent 2-stage waveshapers (using bottom in and out for one and middle in and top out for the other) - e.g. for stereo processing.

Notes: Erica Synths Black Spring Reverb is a different take on spring reverberation units. Remarks:
As the LFO frequencies can go up to moderate audio range (~ 5kHz) even audio FM effects of VCO (pitch and pulsewidth), VCF and ADSR are possible.

If the VCO is turned off (waveform switch = center position, pulsewidth control = fully CCW) and the VCF resonance is set to maximum the module can be used as a sine oscillator. The sine can be modulated in a linear manner from the triangle wave of the VCO and by LFO2 in an exponential manner at the same time !

From the factory the socket labelled "LFO1" outputs the inverted LFO1 signal. But as the module has several internal pin headers available even another signal may appear at this socket by changing the internal module patch. These six pin headers are available: LFO1 output, LFO2 output, ADSR output, inverter input, inverter output, output socket. The internal default patch is LFO1 -> inverter input, inverter output -> output socket (i.e. socket = inverted LFO1). But even another signal can be patched to this socket (e.g. inverted ADSR, non-inverted LFO1, inverted or non-inverted LFO2). It is also possible to add a blind panel next to the A-111-5 with a couple of sockets that are connected to the corresponding pins of the A-111-5 pc board. The in- and outputs of the VCO, VCF and VCA are not available as pin headers because the VCO, VCF and VCA are internally connected in the circuit which is used in this module.

Notes: Digitally-controlled full-analogue path Granular + Multimode VCF

The Grainity brings a unique and never-heard-before concept to the world of analogue VCF.

While being based on analogue filtering only, the Grainity expands and enriches the sound in creating subharmonics, harmonies, unison, flanging effects and formant filtering all at once.

The module presents two sections, the granular filter itself and a typical multimode filter, each with its own output.

A third output offers a mix of both filter paths. Numerous controls and CV allow a very wide palette of results.

What is the Grainity

Granular?

The word granular was chosen for this filter module in relation to the concept invented by the composer Yannis Xenakis, and which is described as assembling small chops of sounds - he called grains - according to a pattern.

This is exactly what the Grainity does, no more no less ... but, digital control allows doing it in ways that are decades away from what tape and scissors allowed at the time.

Technology wise ...

In the granular section, the incoming sound cycle is determined in order to step through various filtering and phase variations of itself according to predefined patterns called structures.

The controls allow alterations to the cycling phase, cycling frequency offset (tuning), structure selection and frequency division of the filters cycling. This comes in addition to the usual filter frequency and resonance controls.

What the Grainity is not

Technology wise ...

Despite relying on a microprocessor, the Grainity is not a digital audio processor. At any time, the sound remains in the analogue domain and goes through analogue circuits from in to out.

The digital processor does not convert or generate audio signals; it is there to control the analogue circuitry and manage the interface and display.

Sound wise ...

Several digital modules offering granular processing rely on the layering of sound grains, which leads to blurry and cloudy textures.

Layering of the grains is a late addition to the concept of granular synthesis and is not a mandatory feature of the concept.

The Grainity does not use delay lines or sampling memory but is nevertheless true to the foundations of the granular synthesis concept.

The granular VCF in the Grainity is unconventional in that, most of times, it is not filtering the sound in the common expectation of removing something. Typically, the granular process adds more than it removes by expanding both the lower range, creating subharmonics, and the upper harmonic contents in multiples ways.

VOLTAGES mode:

Up to 16 voltage storage locations (grid) with 8 voltages stored at each location.

You have the choice to record and playback your recall of these locations in a looper style (just play freely and spend arbitrary amount of time at any location) or as a clocked sequence (SH-101 style). Additionally you can traverse the matrix using the X and Y CV inputs to get Cartesian style sequencing.

There is also variable slew that allows you to morph/glide between the values.

NOTES mode:

You can create sequences or loops in chord, scales or keyboard mode. The isomorphic keyboard grid can vary from 4 notes to 12 notes max. There are real-time performance looping, transposition and inversion capabilities via the CV inputs and dedicated loop button. In sequencer mode each step can be a tie, rest, or gate with size 25/50/75%. Basically we have created a way to very quickly and intuitively make chord sequences that are very musical and easy to manipulate. It is difficult to summarize in words but we will be sure to create some videos to demonstrate how easy and fun this is to play with. It definitely represents something unique in the landscape of Eurorack sequencers.

COMBO mode:

In this mode you can loop record your performance on any combination of the following functions:

fader, bipolar fader, drum hit, switch or LFO. Kind of like Elektron style parameter locking but all of the motions is recorded continuously instead of just in slices. Instantly turn a simple patch into a highly animated and complex beast.

With all of the above mentioned loop recording modes you can very easily overdub since the Tetrapad detects pressure/pressing. In combo mode you can erase individual channels.

All modes allow for internal or external clocking and configurable syncing.

All of the modes have special XYZ CV modulation assignments and make use of the dedicated CV outputs.

For example, in Looper mode one of the CV outputs generates a continuous ramp that represents the position in the loop. This can be used with devices like the Planar 2 in Interpolation mode to sync the recorded patterns together no matter what tempo.

Notes: The Tone Science Triple Cross module is a design collaboration between electronic musician/composer Ian Boddy and AJH Synth.

It features three independant cross fader and panner channels, and it can be used with both audio and CV signals. Each of the channels can be configured in one of four different ways:

1) One In, One out Linear VCA

2) Two in, One out crossfader

3) One in, Two out panner,

4) Two in, Two out cross fader & reversing panner combined.

Audio rate modulation can also be used on the CV inputs to create Ring modulation and Cross modulation type sounds. Each channel has a dedicated Fade control, CV input, and CV Level attenuverter. These can be used together to bias incoming CV signals.

The L1 and L2 outputs from channels 1 and 2 are normalised to channel 3's inputs, which also have their own level controls to balance incoming signals. This allows very interesting, complex fading and panning between four different input sources, to either Mono or Stereo outputs..

The Triple Cross is very versatile, yet relatively simple to understand and use. However, as they say "knowledge is power", so do spend a little time reading about how to configure the channels in the four different modes, and how to combine all three channels together to create a super-powerful Four to Two to One cross fader.
Each of the three channels can be configured in four different ways, and all three can be used simultaneously. They do not all have to be in the same mode, so we could for example use channel 1 as a cross fader, channel 2 as a Panner for completely different signals, and channel 3 as a Linear VCA, again for different signals.

Notes: The WaveSwarm is a waveform animator and all analogue dual channel device.

Each channel simulates up to six VCO's beating in unison with a different beat frequency between each animation. The fixed beat frequencies are generated by twelve onboard LFO's, and the front panel pots control the level of each of the six animators, along with the level of the dry signal to the final mix. In addition to independent channel inputs and outputs it also has an A+B output, which sums the outputs of the two channels, creating an effect similar to twelve VCO's in unison! This is possible because channel B uses slightly different beat frequencies to channel A, they are not identical.

The input waveform can be saw, triangle, sine or wavetable/complex waveforms, in fact most waveforms with the exception of square or PWM waves will give some form of animation.

A soft clip circuit is built in so that at higher signal levels the signal magnitude is limited by rounding the top and bottom of the waveforms, thus slightly softening the sound. There are soft clip LED indicators for both channels.

It can produce huge, fat drones or supersaw type waveforms from a single sawtooth or triangle wave input.

The module has 5 MODES of operation that can be selected via the pushbutton LED switch with the status indicated by the five LEDs above:

Normal Envelope - Gate signal at the GATE/TRIG input, fires the ADSR.
Trigger Mode - Trigger signal at the GATE/TRIG input fires the AD portion of the envelope. The sustain control determines the final value the envelope rests at after the decay portion has ended.
Gated Looping Envelope - ADSR loops whilst gate signal is high.
Looping Envelope - ADSR loops regardless of gate signal.
LIN response (Hold switch to select between LIN/EXP Mode) - Sets the envelope response to be Linear. The response is Exponential when the status LED is off.
When the envelope is looping, all 5 controls affect the output. Attack and Decay operate, as one would expect. The Sustain control sets the minimum voltage the decay part of the envelope will decay to. The Release sets a release time from the end of the Sustain period to the beginning of the next cycle. When the Sustain is set to 0 you can use the Release control to add a delay between the Attack and Decay cycles.

In Normal Envelope mode the Sustain CV input can be used with an LFO source to add amplitude modulation that gradually increases as the Envelope transitions from the Attack/Decay part of the envelope into the Sustain part. The Level CV is also a useful point for amplitude modulation or can be used for Velocity Sensitivity via CV.

The Time CV is set so that increasing voltage shortens the overall envelope time to better mimic the sounds of percussive instruments.

Notes: Scales is an 8hp dual-channel note quantizer and step sequencer. Fundamentally, it takes an input voltage, quantizes it to notes in a user-defined scale, and sends that quantized voltage to an output, where you can use it as a melodic pitch source for oscillators or any other module that expects to see discreet note values at its input.

Scales goes far beyond the fundamental, allowing you unprecedented control of the pitches and intervals hiding inside your control voltages; turn LFO's into arpeggiators; random voltages into harmonic counterpoint; and unquantized external CV sequencers into chromatically tuned note sequencers.

Quantization can be locked to an incoming trigger. There are a number of trigger output options as well, ranging from no triggering (good for pitch shifting drones); through triggers that sync with either of the two outputs (or both); to a trigger or gate transmitted in sync with one sent to the module's TRIG input.

Shift:

Scales features two independent outputs, enabling you to create shifted harmonic intervals within your chosen scale using only a single pitch input. Using the SHIFT input you can modulate changes on OUT A and/or OUT B.

You can also use the shift input to switch between scales or to change the root of any existing scale pattern or split Scales into two quantizers - each conforming to a common scale, but fed entirely different voltage sources.

Sequence:

Scales also features a 128-step SH-101 style step sequencer (complete with storage for up to 35 fully programmable patterns) - allowing you to feed OUT B with sequenced notes and rhythm patterns, while OUT A continues to function as a standard pitch quantizer for external voltages. To reduce excess materials, screws will no longer be included with Noise Engineering modules beginning in 2023.

Notes: The updated "Skiff friendly" design of the mml filter now features bipolar "Attenu-verters" for the cv controls as well as an all new red mode!

This new mode activates a feedback distortion circuit capable of actually changing the pitch of the notes coming in to the filter in a musical way that adds instant variety to acid basslines, creates weird and strange alterations to drones or adds some nice overdriven distortion to whatever goes into it!

The multi-mode ladder (mml) filter is based on the classic transistor ladder low pass filter by dr. Robert a. Moog. This filter updates the classic 4-pole ladder design to provide band pass and high pass filter responses as well as the traditional low pass filter. There are 2 bipolar controls with attenu-verters for the cut-off frequency plus a cv input for the resonance.

The core of the circuit features a fully discrete transistor design with an op-amp buffered output, this allows soft saturation of the input signal to get the classic overdriven tones of the ladder filter. A bass compensation circuit has been included to retain the bass response in low pass mode when the resonance is increased. The bass compensation also helps to improve the response of the high pass filter.

The red mode is activated/de-activated by holding the mode button for 0.3s. In this mode the filter cut-off, input volume and resonance all interact and the effect is to produce alterations to the incoming frequencies. The pitches of the audio coming into the filter also affect the alterations as well selecting between low pass, band pass and high pass filter modes whilst in red mode.

IDUM is a gate processing effect that turns its input effortlessly into IDM. Making complex electronic music with the modular usually requires meticulous sequencing done in advance or a large ecosystem of modules. Unfortunately, the level of expertise needed to accomplish this is not accessible to the average modular user. IDUM aims to make this process easier and put Intelligent Dance Music, also known as IDM, into the hands of people with average intelligence. IDUM does not require much knowledge to get immediate and compelling results; but with some extra familiarity, this module can enable innovative music making techniques. Instead of generating musical patterns on its own, IDUM acts like an effects processor for the sequences that run through it. For example, a filter or a delay allows the user to alter their sound by twisting the knobs or modulating the parameters. Similarly, IDUM manipulates the actual gates and sequences of connected modules, but with a level of playability normally inaccessible to a sequencer. IDUM can vary carefully crafted sequences or turn your music into an onslaught of controlled chaos. Its open source code and hardware based on the beginner friendly Arduino Nano Every encourage users to tweak their modules to taste or to add new features all while ensuring future improvements as IDUM makes its way into the wild.

IDUM has eight effect modes:

HOLD - Alter the length of incoming triggers.

BURST - Generates a ratcheting effect with timing determined by the clock.

MULTIPLY/DIVIDE - Generates a ratcheting effect with timing determined by incoming triggers.

BALL - Generates a bouncing ball effect.

ROTATE - scrambles the connections of inputs and outputs.

DELAY - postpones incoming gates by a dynamic amount of time based on incoming triggers.

BREAK - preset rhythms that turn incoming triggers into breakbeats.

SKIP - manipulates the clock output to multiply the clock speed or skip forward multiple steps.

In addition to these modes, IDUM features an eight step looper that loops incoming gates as well as any effects that were active on those steps.

To control when IDUM's effects are active, the CHANCE slider sets the likelihood that on a given step an effect will activate and the LENGTH slider sets how many steps the effect will last for. The PARAM knob controls a parameter unique to each effect while the MODE knob selects the mode. All of these controls as well as the LOOP status have their own CV modulation inputs.

Unique to IDUM is its ability to manipulate external sequencers using the clock output. This includes functions like: pausing the clock when an effect is active for dynamic clock division, skipping forwards or multiplying the speed of the clock in SKIP mode, and looping a sub-section of sequencer steps in the looper. To keep everything tamed while manipulating the clock, the CYCLE switch will send out bursts of clocks to catch your sequencer up with its original sequencer position after an effect has completed. Keep in mind that not all sequencers like to be clocked fast enough to work with these features, so for best results pair your IDUM with a TREE/ LEAVES combo from Mystic Circuits.

All inputs are buffered, we use stereo potentiometers (similar to those used in high quality studio mixers) for panning, IN4 is a stereo input with simultaneous level adjustment for both channels, IN3 has a CV controlled auto-pan function. There is also a 6.3mm jack for the balanced outputs and headphones.
