Notes: Roucha Legio is a 12 dB /octave state-variable stereo multimode filter available on the Legio DSP+oscillator platform.

Noise Engineering received tons of requests for NE filters over the years, and Roucha Legio is their first dedicated release. The filter features lowpass, bandpass, and highpass settings and tracks frequency via the dedicated encoder and extremely accurate 1v/8va CV input. Roucha Legio's CV-controlled resonance parameter can go from clean to acidy-squelchy for bassline joy. Add CV for filter sweeps that will knock your socks off. Of course, because it's a Noise Engineering module, there's a Fold knob. Add wavefolding to the signal chain before, after, or both before and after the filter.

Noise Engineering have made it easy to carry out dramatic buildups and cuts with Roucha Legio. Just tap the encoder to bypass; tap again to turn the filter on again. Want to automate it? Send a gate into the Bypass input. The filter will remain bypassed as long as a high gate is present.

Roucha Legio is also a DSP and oscillator platform: users can change the firmware on any Legio module, 100% free, to any other firmware in the Legio series.

Synamodecs Levitate is a desktop synthesizer that is made for noise and experimental music making.

It's divided into three blocks Legus, Neura and Nxpctd. Legus consists of two delays in series. Those delays offer time, level, feedback and dry/wet parameters. Due to it's layout it is capable of generating sounds without any input signals. The ouput of the first delay can modulate the delay time of both or just the other one. The Neura section is a sound and noise generator with frequency, texture and waveform controls and outputs on two different independent outputs. Last but not least the NXPCTD block is a third delay through which the Legus ad Neura pass through. It gives control over dry/wet, time and feedback control.

Additionally the Levitate offers an external audio input for extra fun.

The Vestax VCM-100 is a portable rotary MIDI controller and audio interface system, designed for laptop DJ performance. Controls

Time: Controls the delay time, with numbers labelled in milliseconds. In the Red Zone, the delay chip is pushed to the extreme. The signal decreases in fidelity as the time increases.

F-Back: Controls the number of repeats in the delay circuit, anywhere from one to an infinite to a wall of oscillation.

Mix: Controls the level of the delayed channel in comparison to the dry signal, from fully dry to an equal mix.

Send/Receive: Plug out of the Send jack into any additional effects, then back into the Return jack to introduce new sounds into your vocals. This loop is before the delay line, allowing you to affect your dry vocals as well as the delay generated by the Echo Master.

Notes: Any signal can be expressed in terms of a few parameters: frequency, phase, amplitude and timbre. It is through modulation of these aspects that synthesists create electronic sound. With Generate 3, it is now possible to create a signal and control all its parameters by through-zero modulation within a single 12 HP wide module.

Everything starts with the exceptionally precise triangle-core voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) at the module’s heart. Through-zero linear frequency modulation (FM) enables rich yet pitch-stable FM sounds, by allowing the oscillator to run backwards into ‘negative frequencies’.

The resultant triangle wave is then processed by the through-zero phase modulator, providing a total phase shift range of 900°. Phase modulation offers an interesting alternative for FM, as it enables deep FM-type tones without actually changing the oscillation frequency.

The timbre of a signal is determined by its harmonic content. This full set of harmonics can be grouped into three main parts: the fundamental, even and odd harmonics. Generate 3’s harmonics generator separates out these three timbral ‘channels’. By adjusting their relative amplitudes, a vast array of different waveforms can be created, including but not limited to the classic sine, saw and square waves.

While the amplitudes can be adjusted manually, each timbral channel supports through-zero amplitude modulation, also known as balanced or ring modulation. When audio-frequency modulation signals are applied, the harmonics become ‘split’, enriching the spectrum.

In addition to all the usual analogue synthesis techniques, the extensive set of modulation options makes Generate 3 especially suited for exploring multiphonic synthesis: a monophonic source creating a complex timbre, much like throat singing, yet by electronic means.

Phase offset is continuously variable from 0 to 360° and inverts the waveform without changing it’s amplitude, and with or without changing it's polarity.

Unipolar mode preserves the output range by offsetting the starting voltage, so it always stays between 0 and +10v

Bipolar mode preserves the starting voltage by offsetting the output range, so it always starts at 0v. The output range will shift from +unipolar, through +bipolar, to -unipolar, through -bipolar back to +unipolar.

The reference waveform does not change phase, but the timing of the rate change between Attack and Decay shift with the phase offset, to ensure synchronous movement.

Koszalin is a full stereo frequency shifter with two inputs and four outputs. If offers simultaneous exponential and linear through-zero control of the amount of frequency shift in 3 carefully scaled ranges (up to +/- 5kHz). Frequency shifting results in linear translation of signal spectrum producing all kinds of atonal sounds. It should not be confused with frequency scaling, also known as pitch shifting. Several stereo feedback topologies are offered with additional density control besides feedback depth, which results in spectacular stereo barberpole effects.

Through-zero modulation allows for using Koszalin's input as an FM operator. Koszalin is a digital module with a DSP behind an analog interface.

Based loosely on the Buchla 100 series Gates, each channel boasts a discrete VCA with a rich overdrive sound, stereo panning, a tilt EQ and an easily accessible mute switch. Hue's goal is to simply colour your sound. The initial concept was born of a debate about the techniques and processes used to make drum machines sound big, bold, and delicious. The sounds that tug at the hearts of boombap, LoFi, and subsequently modbap, enthusiasts are those that have great texture, lush degradation, soft distortion, and big bold strokes of colour. The classic beloved drum machines were often processed with outboard gear, recorded to tape, pressed to vinyl, played in big booming systems, sampled, and resampled and on and on. Ultimately, those are the sounds that become nostalgic and reminiscent of all that we love about classic LoFi boombap production. Hue is Modbap's attempt at bringing that vibe into eurorack with a cute little 6hp package.

The effects chain audio signal path is as follows; Drive, Filter, Tape Saturation, LoFi, Compressor. The panel layout allows for the DJ style filter knob to sit in first position for ease of tweaking. Drive boosts and lightly distorts the signal, while shift+Drive adjusts the Drive tone. The Filter is a low pass filter to the left and a high pass filter to the right. Tape effect is intended to impart cassette tape saturation, while shift+Tape adjusts the intensity. LoFi adjusts bit depth, while shift+LoFi adjusts sample rate. Lastly, the one knob compressor mini pot serves as the final glue in the signal path that brings it all together.CV inputs for Drive, Filter, Tape Saturation, and LoFi opens loads of creative possibilities. Hue is a textural beast when creative modulation is thrown at it.

Most of the features, like the AccuBell spring tank (type 9), the TONE control as well as in and output stages are equal.

What has been improved is the way EFFECT STOP is working. Compared to its predecessor VSR 3.2 offers the possibility to determine where EFFECT STOP cuts the signal path: PRE or POST the spring tank. In the new PRE mode the input of the spring tank is cut from the signal path, so the reverb's decay isn't abruptly stopped when pressing EFFECT STOP and still can fade out.

Notes: The TT-78, from Cyclone Analogic, is the next step in their collection of classic reproductions of iconic drum machines. The TT-78 is modelled after the classic CR-78 drum machine from Roland, produced in 1978. Andy Timmons' mysterious sounding "Halo" effect is a modulated dual echo sound that has long been kept a secret by the tone wizard himself. Andy spent decades combining and crafting the sounds you can now get from the HALO. Notes from the HALO dance rhythmically, almost creating a reverb diffusion. Those notes are held together with tape-style effects like modulation, saturation and compression. The results are stunning!

The pedal comes loaded with his signature delay tone and you can program your own sounds and save them as presets. Easily bounce between Side A and B on the fly, essentially giving you two delay pedals in one. In addition to Andy's signature "Halo" sound, there are numerous other rhythmic delays including: quarter note, dotted 8th, stereo rack mount analogue delay, and a vintage multi-head tape echo. Stunning stereo and pristine sound quality are further enhanced with controls for saturation, tone, and shelving filters that give you the ultimate delay pedal.

Think of HALO as two delay pedals that work in tandem, letting you switch between your main delay (side A) and an alternative (side B). Following the adventures of the crew of Bebop, a bounty hunter ship that chases criminals and turns them into the Inter Solar System Police for reward, Kanno's zany fusion of rock, blues and jazz oozes cool. The opening track 'Tank!' has been hugely influential, informing innumerable title sequences, from 'Danganronpa' to 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'. Focusing, as the Japanese often do, on Americana hallmarks, there is a distinct New York slant in the horns with some Afro-Cuban percussive influences as well, most notably on 'Rush' from the first 'COWBOY BEBOP' album. This boxset serves as a comprehensive rundown of all things SEATBELTS, an 11-vinyl boxset featuring all 7 albums the band have made for the legendary franchise housed in a box with art from the show.

Notes: Most musicians use their feet as an extension of their playing, either pushing piano pedals, sustain pedals, guitar pedals.

However, feet have been underrated while using modulars. In the past ADDAC released a series of modules using sustain and expression pedals for triggering or controlling signals to help breaking the ice. While these are small and still useful for simple uses, ADDAC wanted to create something more specific this time.

This new solution features 5 footswitches and 5 inputs for external expression pedals with independent controls for each.

Notes: A couple of years back, Frequency Central developed Cosmic Background as a standalone percussion voice. The concept was to bundle all required sub-modules behind one panel, pre-patched, yet also fully modular, with each sub-module having its own inputs and outputs.
