After some spookily sensual ASMR action on intro 'The Code' he continues to build the suspense on the beatless Subarctic Soundscape of 'Darkness Falls' before dropping the power on the cavernous and glacial beats of 'On The Moor'. Flip over and take on more of the frozen seascape on the deeply hypnotic groove of "Empty" before one more emotional ambient outro in the form of 'Endgame'.

Review: Format is the allies of the assured veteran Orlando Voorn and now one of his many classic EPs gets a solid reissue treatment from Back To Life. This is lively club music that comes from the place where house and techno meet. 'Damn Right' will get you up on your toes with its busy drum programming and soulful synths. 'Reckless' is then unhinged soulful techno with mad chords and bleeps, 'Dance' is an old school, euro-tinged house anthem with big chords and bigger vocals and 'Soundclash' brings a more twisted late night rave sound - all of these tracks are true weapons.

Review: Enduring Detroit maverick Omar-S celebrates 20 years since he released one of his most iconic 12"s by pressing it up as a new double pack with two new versions of two originals and one bonus unnamed track. The standouts of this EP were always 'U' and 'Set It Out'. The former is a raw as-you-like drum track with bounce in the kicks and pure machine soul in the vamping chords, and the latter shows Smith's other more tender side with smart 80s samples and new school r&b vibe on a dusty house beat. He has mashed them together perfectly on the new cut 'U Set It Out' and added extra weight to 'U 2023.' Add in the other two originals and heavy beatdown 'Track 3' and you have an essential new double pack.

Review: Suoni Incisi is very ably marking itself out as a new school leader in tribal, trance-tinged new age and mind-melting deep techno of the sort that Need and Voices From the Lake have mastered before now. The eponymous artists steps up again here with two more long-form cuts - the first being an undulating, rubbery cut with heady flutes and super-deep bass rotations that sink you into a mindful state immediately. 'Track 2' is no more hurried and again takes a slow-burning approach with languid synths and liquid details peeling off the linear but loose drums. What an EP.

Review: DATA17 is back with more of that irresistible hand-stamped white label minimal and tech house goodness. 'Pour Toi' kick off this particular party with high speed tech funk loops and crashing hits that demand you dance while wonky synth lines unfold up top. The clipped and kinetic funk continues on 'C La Vie' which has distant playground found sounds and balmy pads and 'Sous Influence' that slips down into superbly icy and economical minimal grooves, with nagging leads hooking you in as the militant drums march below. It's an eerie and futuristic sounds completed with some spoken words from Blade Runner.

Review: The fledgling Pamela label hits release number three with Anthony Teasdale the man charged with taking us on a sonic trip. He kicks off with a gorgeous cut that pairs breezy grooves with flamboyant keys that sound like they come from a theatrical moment in a play. It is a super symphony that sweeps you off your feet while 'A Pavement In Palma' is a humid and sundown gem, 'Deep In The Forest Something Stared' is layered ups with retro-future synths from a band like ELO and 'It's 5am Somewhere' then has more slick kick to it, but no less a majestic sense of melody which seems to be Teaseale's calling card.

Review: Tsuba's ten year anniversary - that's right, it has been that long already - has been marked with hit after hit from a wide selection of artists from across the house kingdom. In fact, for this 2nd instalment of the festivities, we have White Material frontman Galcher Lustwerk remixed by the inimitable Jimpster, with the latter putting a more starry-eyed mechanic onto the original; For Romeau complete the A-side with a vintage-sounding remix of "Pinball" by Williams. On the flip, Roy Comanchero drops the Chicago bass over a minimal sort of percussion groove on "Hypba". Kevin Griffiths adds a little acid to the jingly 707 beat of "Satori", and completes a stellar EP from the magnetic Tsuba.

The German label serves up another Windy City classic by the legendary DJ Skull here - under his birth name Ron Maney - with the 2 Entities EP, originally released back in 1996 on the seminal Relief Records. A classic for those that know, it's got the spooky and minimalist shuffle of "Bring It Home" and the heads- down stomper "Reborn Souls" which is classic DJ Skull all the way, complete with its heady loops underpinned by skipping rhythms. Review: After launching last year via an arguably overlooked EP from Obsidian, Parallel Connection has made us wait a little while for the London label's second release. It comes courtesy of Sela, a 25-year-old French producer who apparently honed his soon to be trademark sound while living in the UK. There's much to enjoy across the four track missive, from the alien electronics, loose-limbed broken electro beats and chiming lead lines of '2020 Connection' and sub-heavy, acid-flecked stomp of 'Animal Kingdom', to the pitched-down electronica eccentricity of 'Really Get Fucked' and the psychedelic late-night tech-house hedonism of 'Mr Rabbit', which boasts bleeping melodies reminiscent of both mod-90s ambient techno and Yorkshire bleep and bass.

Review: The album 1982 stands out as one of the finest moments in A Certain Ratio's story. When you're talking about a band that started half a decade before the year 1982, that's saying something. Following on from the landmark ACR Loco, the outfit's 2023 record is packed with multidimensionality - dipping toes into everything from gritty post punk (a sound from whence they first came) to Afrobeat, all realised with exceptional attention to detail and the highest possible standards. 2023 EP, as the title suggests, builds on the impact of that latest long-from release. Opening on the jazzy late night club workout 'Day By Day', a brand new number, the package then jumps into work from the aforementioned LP, redone by contemporary dons. So that's Werkha on a stepping, garage-hued version of 'SAMO', Emperor Machine emphasising the exotic disco grooves of 'Constant Curve', and Jade Parker offering a highly percussive cosmic take on 'Waiting On A Train'.

Review: British producer, party set designer and DJ Angel D'Lite is known for her sickly sweet and high energy mixes and solo work. An avid vinyl collector and happy hardcore indulger, '303 Dalmations' feels like biting into a sour sweet and the headrush from the sugar high thereafter. 'Just Trippin' and '7am' are evocative of the 90s records that D'Lite digs for in her local shops and collection and are bubbly dance tracks with classic breakbeats (Producers will recognise the opening amen break vocal sample on 'Liquid Skies' very well). The feel of the EP is a classic club experience, and you can't help but dance along and smile - as D'Lite says herself "Happy Hardcore is good for the soul".

'Data Society' is perfectly supple and seductive bleep techno for mind-melting 4am trips and the rest of the superb EP touches on lo-fi dub techno on '3D Bingo', peak time cosmic cruises like 'Child Wave' and bumping party pumpers such as 'Fashion F.' Review: Constant Black is one of the numerous labels in UK artist Burnski's orbit. He's been a man on form on all fronts in recent years and here he snaps up Retrospect for a trio of super slick and funky minimal house cuts. 'Ay-up!' is a cheeky opener with subtle northern welcomes hidden in the mix as the lithe bass and 2-step tinged drums do their thang. It's reet good. 'Schneebly' gets more pacey and balmy, with silky and oily bass and kinetic drum work all underpinned by a sick bass tone. Last of all comes '4 U' which has something of an upright garage skip and downright irresistible groove. These are high functioning, charismatic cuts to pump up any floor.

'Xtra Tall Tee' has a physical, unrelenting low end with just the right amount of distortion to make it sleazy, and is overlaid with hurried synth sequins that bring neon light and curious energy while some scratchy background vocal and raw as hell snares finish it in perfect style. Review: Some six years after the label's last outing, Moody Grass returns via a rock-solid outing from lesser-known producer Valentin Zad and - on the two A-side tracks at least -collaborator Klatt. EP opener '42' is wonderfully hard to pin down, with fuzzy coldwave synth sounds and glacial electronic melodies riding a beat that sits somewhere between relaxed electro and IDM, while 'Answer' adds icy synths and heady electronic string sounds to a locked-in tech-house beat. Review: The undisputed godfather of Australian techno Cam Bianchetti aka DJ HMC has enjoyed a deserved second coming under his Late Nite Tuff Guy guise but this is where it all started with these two classics. First track "6AM" originally released in 1996 is a true mid-nineties zeitgeist that could have been spawned during an evening at the Packard plant in Detroit, but actually conceived in Adelaide. It's overdriven acid backed by the pounding kick and metallic hiss of a 909 just like Plus 8 Records were doing back in the day. What can be said about 'Marauder' that hasn't already? Review: Don your space suit and hop onboard another trip to Planet Rhythm. This one is at the hands of techno troubadour Klint who is a master of achieving a lot with a little. HIs perfectly designed flops could roll for days if you ask us. And that's whether they are edgy and restless as on the unsettling 'Your Fault' or the more intensely layered 'Organic Rewind' which sounds like an automated factory at peak production levels. The tunnelling techno of 'Carbone' is a real mind maze and 'Dust' is from the Mills school of minimalism.

Review: Looks like we have another Digwah white label in this week. The label first appeared on our radar several years ago with its second release 'Something Else' by an anonymous artist who threw down a sublime vocal by Cuba Gooding over a pumping acid tech house groove. Fast forward to DIGWAH 07, the formula remains the same and is still rather effective. In this case, the vocals are taken from a rather legendary early '90s pop collaboration over a hypnotic, bass-driven minimal house groove aimed squarely at the afterhours dancefloor.

Review: We're not sure what the first six are but the 7th Power of Dance is a strong one, if this EP from Chachi Romero is anything to go by on the Japanese-US label Dailysession. It kicks off with the majestic original - a future Body & Soul classic, surely, with its funky guitar riffs, gloriously spiritual chords and jazzy keys all topped off with a properly steamy vocal. After that comes a series of versions starting with a Pablo Cruz Midnight Drive mix that is more smooth and traditional in its deep house approach. Monchan 90's Saturday Night In Village mix is all about the funky riffs and soft focus bells that glow bright and then his Monchan Luv A dub mix brings jumped percussion and extra layers of drums.
