Notes: Drawing inspiration from the MMI Maxima, the MMI Helios is intended as a middle ground between the gestural control surface of the Maxima and the fingertip control of the smaller MMI.

Less density, but a much higher degree of patch control is the key point of the Helios, which complements other MMI devices very well, and can be joined with other Helios (Helii?) to form larger and creative control surfaces.

The design is greatly simplified compared to the original MMI, with only two I/O jacks - either can function as input and output, and their interaction with each other is determined by touching both plates simultaneously to form a connection, or in cooperation with other MMI devices.

Available in a "right" and "left" version - one is an exact mirror image of the other, which makes it suitable for having two units adjacent to one another.

Notes: The Herzlich Man Machine Interface - a beloved instrument, but what if there was even more of it? An MMI with more than one dimension? An MMI arranged in a manner of... matrix?

With operation identical to it's little brother, the MMI Matrix allows the user to patch inputs to outputs by connecting zig-zagged patterns together with fingers, fruits, cables, pizza slices or any other conductive source. The labyrinth patterns will immediately connect the zig-zags immediately adjacent, whether above and below, or on each side. Furthermore, the two labyrinths within labyrinths will connect ALL adjacent inputs and outputs, which may lead to beautiful disasters or otherworldly insights.

As with its predecessor, the MMI Matrix is fully touch and pressure sensitive, reacting to the amount of pressure exerted, the amount of skin connecting, and the resistive quality of your body. Incredibly easy to perform with, the MMI Matrix offers new and far more advanced ways to patch your performances, whether CV, triggers or audio signals. Create reverb swells that vary between different types of reverb, use multiple fingers and labyrinth patterns to mix trigger signals into complex polyrhythms or create beautiful chords by combining various pitch inputs with a chord oscillator. The MMI Matrix also integrates very well with it's little brother, so there is absolutely no need to hold back!

Oh, and as always, it uses NO power! But it will take up 10hp of space in your system. A fair deal!

Notes: The MMI Maxima is the final word in MMI technology. Beautiful gold patterns form gradients of touch sensitive surface areas, each connected to an input/output. Drag, rub, pinch or tap your fingers across to form connections, and create evocative and unique performances. Utilize the various pattern densities and shapes in your performance, or create installations with whatever conductive material is to hand.

Operation is easy: simply plug any audio, LFO, CV, trigger, gate, offset or clock into any of the inputs on the front panel, and connect one or several outputs to destinations in your system. The symbols near the sockets correspond to the shapes on the panel, and all that remains is for you to form the connection between the desired symbols with your hand, or any other conductive object you may have. Connect multiple at the same time to achieve liquid, gradual mixing, evolving rhythmic patterns, mixed LFOs and more. Furthermore, touch the pressure plates more firmly or in more dense areas to form stronger connections - in practice, this means a signal will pass with more or less intensity, based on the pressure you apply.

There are countless possibilities here: the shapes make it easy to memorize your patch, and the many inputs and outputs allow for enormous creativity. Eight inputs and one output? No problem. Maybe you want eight outputs sharing one input? Also no problem. Why not patch in an offset voltage, and then use the pressure sensitivity to sweep a filter with the offset patched into the filter resonance CV control? Or maybe create volume swells by patching audio into a VCA, or even an effect, for reverb or delay swells. Maybe you want to create chords, crescendos or chaotic and swiftly changing drum patterns?

Although practice helps, there are no rules for playing the MMI Maxima. Use it upside down or downside up, rack it, tape it to your body or drill it into your guitar and use it with the expression input on your pedals (yes, this is actually possible. Seriously.) With no external power needed, it makes an excellent performance companion for any system, big or small, modular, semi-modular or even not-modular-at-all.

Intended as a controller for musicians and non-musicians alike, the purpose of the MMI Maxima is to put emphasis on your performance and expression, rather than your competence at the ivory keys or dexterity at a drum pad. Let your hands, slices of pickled cucumber or other conductive everyday objects do the talking, through a combination of clever patching and expressive play - with the MMI Maxima, you have a performance tool unlike any other at your disposal.

Notes: The Om is a slim, passive 2hp LPG with characterful resonance. Taking notes from its bigger brother, the Omen, the Om offers similarly beautiful resonant LPG action in half the size and skiff-friendly depth.

In a convergence of old-school LPG design and more modern components, the Om boasts a single -6dB resonant filter, custom hand-built vactrol and no less than three cutoff modes designed to inspire your next sounds.

Although the little brother of the Omen, the Om brings a distinct sound to the table. Do not mistake the Om for an Omen sawn in half, as they will both provide musically interesting and useful sounds to your setup.

Exactly as with the Omen, care has been taken to create a circuit with near-zero audio bleed and the best possible characteristics for a passive LPG. Of course, many of the natural features of vactrols remain, such as subtle memory effect when engaging the vactrol for long periods.

Finally, you receive maximum blinkenlights as an LED on the front panel simulates the action of the vactrol, so you'll always know what's going on under the hood. No collection of fancy LPG's is complete without the Om(en)!

Notes: You want less sound, and you want it fast. You want a mute that doesn't take up any power, a mute that doesn't take up a lot of space, and a mute that accepts three signals. You want a mute that's nice and clicky, and a mute that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Notes: In recent years, stereo signal paths have increasingly found their way into the wonderful world of Eurorack synthesis - so naturally, utilities should follow suit. Introducing the Herzlich PSA, a simple solution to a problem you might not even realize you had. Far from just useful as an attenuator for audio sources in mixdowns, the PSA can also be used to bring audio down to more managable levels (such as line level), attenuate multiple signals simultaneously (like increasing the modulation depth of two LFO's at the same time! It's like having two hands, but with one hand!) and even function as a multiple: Attenuator 1 is normalled to Attenuator 2, so multing your stereo signal (or two mono signals) while attenuating the two signals individually is easy as pie.

There's not much else to say, except that it's passive, and draws no power - and it looks great!

Notes: You've been up all night in a bidding war on eBay to win a prized 80s rack effect unit - you can't wait to add some serious cheese to your tracks, and the sound of gated reverbs ring in your ears. Your heart sinks, as you realize there is not much you can do that doesn't involve a lot of messing around with complicated and weird mono modules. That is, until now: introducing the Herzlich SFXI.

The Stereo FX Integrator was designed in response to my own need: owning several cool stereo FX units, and having no easy way to integrate them with an easy send and return, in my Eurorack system. Attenuate your Eurorack signals down to line level, or even all the way down to instrument level, and get a nice, clean boost back up to modular levels, with this dead simple and highly useful device from the R&D department at Herzlich Labs.

You can even use it to integrate external stereo line level signals into your Eurorack, which is both nice and convenient, and also useful. Finally, you have an easy way to get the sound of your JV1080 into your Clouds.

The scientists have been working overtime to produce this unit, and were fed extra rations of maize and millet gruel just to bring you this circuit. Notes: When patching, you might feel inspired to add an effect mid patch - but how do you audition your new sound compared to the baseline, without a lot of continuous plugging and unplugging? The Bypass offers a solution. Quickly switch between the dry and wet signal output AND immediately hear the impact of your dynamics change, FX or EQ, switching back and forth at will.

The best part? It's a completely passive solution, drawing no power and requiring only an Intellijel 1U row. An invaluable tool for the studio, or the creative performer. The Bypass works similarly to an FX return circuit, taking a signal input and multiplying it to an output. A switch then allows the user to select either the dry input or the returned, wet input, for the final output.

Notes: Mix it up with the Micro Mix, a dual passive mixer in 2hp that functions as both a 3-to-1 and a 6-to-1 passive mixer, allowing you to perform acts of minor sorcery in your modular system (or maybe outside with your Volca and Pocket Operator jam?).

Nothing knobs or buttons here to confuse you, plug in either audio, CV, clock or triggers, and get the mixed signal out. The best part? Notes: The 2CVADD-HQ is a dual precision adder especially for adding 1V/octave (pitch-controlling) CVs. This makes it possible e.g. to transpose a sequence. Compared to general purpose CV mixers (like POLAMIX), this module does the summing of the CVs very precise (within a few millivolts), so the desired pitch is not affected.

The module offers three CV inputs for each of the both units; the first unit has an additional fourth input where the CV is subtracted - meaning "transposition downwards".

If you would like to have transposition buttons to shift by one or two octaves (or a free offset), take a look at the CVADDER-HQ module.

The ADSR module offers the classic four-stage envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) that is not only loopable (patch the end output into gate input) but also accepts CV control over each of the stages! For the time values (A, D, R) the value set by the knob can be increased to five times the duration by the corresponding CV value. For the Sustain value the knob and CV value are simply added.

Notes: The CVSHIFTER module is the AE version of the well-known analogue shift register modules that are around in the modular world since a long time. It works like this: The CV input is sampled with each trigger input signal and this CV is sent to the CV 1 output; at the same time, all CV outputs 1-4 are shifted by one.

Compared to the "classic" circuits, this module is digital based and therefore doesn't suffer from drift as some analogue ASRs and S&Hs do. The result is, that you can e.g. control the pitch of up to four oscillators which is a first step into polyphony.

The CVSHIFTER module offers three modes:

Classic: Each trigger shifts the CV outs by one position, the new CV goes to output CV 1
Cycle: Each trigger sends the CV to the next output channel, restarting at out 1; additionally a gate signal at the according output.
Random: The CVs are sent in random order to one of the four outputs, plus a gate at the according output.

A characteristically unique take on mixing from Buchla, with six mono inputs and a built-in mic/guitar pre-amp. Each channel can be cued to a monitor mix, while the first and last channels also include voltage-controlled panning.

The Tiptop 207t is a modern reimagining of the classic Don Buchla 207 Mixer/Preamplifier from the 1970s 200 Series. This stereo mixer comes with a built-in preamp that allows you to boost external instruments and microphones, making it a versatile tool for any modular setup. The 207t also features a six-channel mixer with a variety of signal routing options, including the ability to route channels to the monitor and L&R signal outputs, with per-channel control over loudness and panning.

Each channel has a Mon switch that sends the channel's signal to the monitor outputs, which are always full-volume and summed to mono, making it useful for basic monitoring applications or rudimentary mixing. The Prog switch sends the signal to the L&R signal outputs, with loudness controlled by the Level Adjustment slider and panning determined by the Channel Assignment knobs. The first and sixth channels offer voltage control of panning; these channels are hard-panned when no CV is applied.

The preamp section features a 1/4" input and multiple gain settings, making it suitable for use with external line level instruments, electric guitars, or dynamic microphones. The continuous amplification control provides added flexibility for your audio needs. Finally, the Expansion In is a stereo input that sums to the left and right main outputs, which is great for chaining multiple 207t modules or adding another stereo source at the final output.

While the 207t's functionality may be simple, it is an essential part of any 200t system, serving as the glue that holds everything together. The Tiptop 207t is a fantastic mixer/preamp option that delivers quality sound and reliable performance.

The Wave Transformer is a complex single oscillator with 7 audio outputs. Its method of wave shaping differs from other complex oscillators in that it is not based upon classic wave folding such as is common in West Coast synthesis, or filtration such as is common in East Coast synthesis.

This analogue, vintage-voiced, voltage-controlled oscillator features over 8 octaves of accurate pitch tracking. Its 7 simultaneous wave outputs include a unique Complex output. This strange and novel output varies between a simple waveform (triangle, unless you patch a signal into the Shape Insert jack) and a complex transformation of the harmonic structure of the original waveform. It contains a unique mixture of the fundamental frequency, odd order harmonics, even order harmonics and subharmonics. The Sub Octave panel control will determine whether the sub harmonics are derived from one octave down, two octaves down, or are muted altogether. It will vary from a simple waveform to a silhouette of your cat watching you as you react to a "present" that it left for you on the counter. No, seriously.

The module's Transform control morphs from a basic waveform through many strange iterations into a complex, gnarled mass of audio mutations at the Complex output using an asymmetrical multi differential audio transmutation circuit. You can yield countless variations on these permutations by combining this novel circuit with Hard Sync, Soft Sync, Linear FM and Exponential FM.

Additionally, you can mute the source waveform to use the circuit as a harmonic gate/VCA, rendering the Wave Transformer a voice unto itself.

If that is not enough, there is a Shape Insert that allows you to transform external oscillations and modular-level audio sources.

The 'Mega Milton' is a smorgasbord of handy all analogue utilities in just 8HP that will greatly extend the functionality of your Eurorack system.

It includes a stereo line input converter for incorporating line level external sources into a Eurorack system, a fixed 4 input mixer with breakout attenuator for combining signals, a gated slew limiter for adding slides to sequences, a sample and hold with analogue white noise with a myriad of uses such as generative melodies or producing percussive textures and finally a buffered mult for droop free signal distribution with handy LEDs to monitor.

All sections are normalised to help with typical use cases such as generating random CV from the sample & hold section, a smooth random source from the slew output and breaking out a standalone attenuator from the fourth mixer input.

Notes: The Dreadbox PSYCLOP is the ultimate modern utility device. It's an Effects Chain Loop with Dry/Wet mix control, Signal Attenuator and Boost as well as Expression to CV (Control Voltage) converter, all in one easy to use package suitable for string instruments or synthesizers and is also Eurorack compatible.

PSYCLOP is not your average Effects Loop Mixer. Capable of managing any type of signal from instruments or effects pedals, PSYCLOP seamlessly blends them with its parallel effects loop.

Its features include Input Attenuation of up to -20 dB and an Output Gain Boost of up to +20 dB in order to match any signals. For unity gain, simply set the Input Attenuation Amount to 100% with the IN control and using the OUT knob, adjust the Output Gain Level to 0%.

To avoid phase cancellation issues between the dry and wet signal paths, the PSYCLOP also features a simple but effective Effects Loop Phase switch, which is easily accessible on the pedal's side.

Additionally, PSYCLOP is capable of converting TRS Expression signals to CV and makes them usable with most Eurorack gear, making it a perfect device for synth fans and sound design enthusiasts. The pedal's EXP knob attenuates the CV output. When nothing is connected to its CV IN jack, the CV OUT jack will output 0-5V depending on this knobs' setting and a connected EXP pedal's position.

The usual idea is that you put all your DROID controllers into a skiff case and mount your DROID master, X7 and G8 into another case, together with all your fancy Eurorack sound modules.

While you could do this with the typical 6-pin ribbon connector (e.g. the 80 cm version that we offer), using the R2M/R2C combination has some serious advantages:

The connection cable can be almost arbitrary long (20 m have been tested and works perfectly).

Since the connection is done on the front of the modules, you can quickly disconnect your skiff for the purpose of travelling to a gig.

You can use a standard 3.5 mm stereo TRS cable for the connection.

These modules are not just passive connectors but contain special driver ICs that transform the electronic voltage levels, which run in the 6-pin ribbon, to something more stable and reliable that is fit for longer distances in a more hostile environment.

The controllers do not receive their power from the master but from the R2C module, which has a power connector and a voltage regulator for that purpose. Each chain of the R2C module provides the same power to its controller chain as the master does (it contains the identical voltage regulator). That means that you can connect up to 32 controllers (!) to one R2C.

Another nice thing: The R2M/R2C combination allows for two of these master / controller connections in parallel. That means that you can have two masters being attached to their individual controller chains. That does not mean, that each of the masters can access each of the controllers at the same time, however. Both master / controller connections work completely separately.

Our take on this classic pedal pushes the chip's limits so you can explore all the gritty elements drifting at the edge of long delay rates. It already outperforms other bucket brigade style echoes, but just to be sure, we added 2 momentary switches, Zone and Warp.

Dark, rich sounds with the analogue vibe of a tape echo.

Uses the PT2399 IC, a bucket brigade style emulation. This IC has 16-bit sampling for 30-300 milliseconds. After that, the sample rate goes down in relation to the delay length. This results in artifacts and noise being introduced into the audio for weird, cosmic, psychedelic sounds.

Delay length: 30ms-1,250ms

3 knobs: Feedback, Mix and Rate. The Mix is a wet-only control that attenuates the amount of delayed signal in the signal chain. The Rate controls the number of repeats in an organic-sounding way.

Warp button: Momentary pushbutton switch that gives a bright, "small speaker" tone.

Zone button: Momentary pushbutton switch that introduces feedback into the circuit momentarily. Great for adding rhythmic feedback and other strange sounds. The Zone amount can be adjusted by an internal trim pot.

Micronova is a miniature 100x30mm power supply with a big soul. It can provide up to 18W of power for your modules and multiple units can be easily daisy chained to power larger systems.

Despite being adorably small, Micronova provides lots of flexibility for custom case builds. It can be powered through an attached DC barrel jack, screw terminals, or through an optional front entry panel.

Micronova is equipped with two Eurorack power headers that can be expanded using a busboard or flying bus cable.

Micronova also has critical safety features including reverse polarity protection, a resettable polyfuse, and over-current shutdown.

Notes: Further pushing the boundary of clock-defined pedals, the latest entry in Old Blood Noise Endeavors' BL series is a Phase Repeater, in the process making a genre entirely of its own.

Phase repetition takes the modulation of a phaser and applies it to the realm of time, creating a completely unique sound and more like delay or reverb than its namesake phaser. First used in the OBNE Dweller pedal, the BL-52 Phase Repeater represents a new spin on the sound, with simple controls including a Clock slider that enlightens the timing of everything in the pedal.

At a point, describing sound feels like describing time: the fourth dimensional perplexity of it all! Of course, this makes sense in that time being intermingled with sound and frequencies only existing over a period of time, whatnot. We spend a lot of time thinking about all-pass filters, you and I. How they pass all frequencies, but at different times. How this, in the digital realm, can create a phaser or a reverb, depending on how much memory you allow it and thus, how much of the fourth dimension it's playing with at any given... well, time.

BL-52 is what we call a phase repeater pedal. It's an effect we stumbled upon in our Dweller pedal development, living somewhere between phaser, delay and reverb, as it creates a series of repeats both unexpected and pleasing. It's digital trickery to do something quite unfamiliar and once you've bonded with it, is irreplaceable.

The BL-52 Phase Repeater is solely focused on that effect, with the Clock control setting the timing of the entire system: the sample rate that determines signal fidelity, the timing of the phase repetition and the speed of the LFO that shapes the diffusion of the repetition.

In short, it is an effect that does not require exactness, but rather openness to where the repetition will lead you.

Notes: Expandoor

The Expandoor gets you quickly and simply using AMP's Melody Oracle, Star Song, or Touch Tones (as well as other possible future devices) as a CV and Gate controller. It outputs Eurorack-compatible CV and GATE signals, transforming your AMP device into a versatile and novel modular synth sequencer or controller. The Expandoor can be used as a standalone tabletop box, or mounted in a 3U 10HP rack space.

Three independent GATE outputs:

Just as the three "Register" zones on your AMP device gate the audio for the three octaves of the built-in synthesizer, there are three corresponding gate outputs on the Expandoor. The 1/8" jacks labelled "BS" "LH" and "RH" output ~11V DC gate signals whenever those zones are gating "ON" on your AMP device.

CV output, tuners and LED indicators:

The jack labelled "CV" outputs a tuned set of CV values (0-11V), tuned independently but correspondingly, to the set of tuners on your AMP device. The row of multi-turn tuners on the front panel allow fine tuning of each CV state. One tuner is active at a time, depending on the state of the "INTERVAL" zones on your AMP device. The active tuner is conveniently indicated in real time via lights found to the right of the tuners. The indicator lights serve a second function of showing you which tuner on the controlling AMP device is also active in parallel.

AMP LINK jacks

The AMP LINK jack on the bottom left of the front panel (with the arrow pointing IN) connects your controlling AMP device into the EXPANDOOR. Use only shielded CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables and connectors (the correct cables will have metal end connectors). The AMP LINK jack on the right outputs a signal identical to the input, allowing chaining of multiple Expandoors and/or Wave Expanders. Do not plug more than one AMP controlling device into a single Expandoor simultaneously, or damage to the devices could occur.

Each controlling device requires its own Expandoor or Wave Exapnder, but multiple expansion modules can be chained from one controlling device. One potential benefit to chaining expansion modules is the ability to output multiple tuned, corresponding but independent, CV channels. Meaning multiple sets of harmonic values could be tuned and accessed at the command of the single controlling AMP device, or accessed via other modules in your system.
