Jungle Hardcore (4:47)
Pulp Fiction (4:45)
Pulp Fiction (remix) (5:43)
Review: One of the most iconic labels in jungle history, Ibiza Records continue to dig deep into the vaults for cult classics and unreleased gems. Now 12 editions deep into the series, this time we're treated to collaborations between 2 On A Tip (Jay-Cee and GT) and the bossman himself. 'Jungle Hardcore' hits first with its late 92 style hardcore riffs and oceanic breaks and sudden cosmic bridge while 'Pulp Fiction' comes in two different versions. Sampling the classic Tarantino film (complete with a bit of Dick Dale's surf guitars) both cuts go in hard with amens and chops with pure 95 fire. History on wax.

Bait (3 Stripes remix)
Fakin Jacks (3 Stripes remix)
Cell Therapy (3 Stripes remix)
Bet I (3 Stripes remix)
Review: Two bros fresh from LA giving hip-hop acts a royal dubstep seeing too. Could life BE any better for 3 Stripes? We sincerely doubt it. Here we find them getting lively over a number of tried and test heaters. Wale's guitar-strumming "Bait" gets the most savage bass beasting with its stadium-splintering half-step naughtiness. B.O.B's "Bet I" comes a close second with the epic saw-tooth giving B.O.B's fast-swagger rhymes a little extra room to breath. With Saafir and Goodie Mob treats elsewhere on the release, this is the most comprehensive 3 Stripes release to date. Heavy.

Screwface (5:07)
Jungle Love (4:56)
Champion Of Champions (4:47)
Bonus Beat #1 (4:58)
Review: Back to 1994: Kemet off-shoot 3rd Party dropped this raw jungle four-tracker. Apache & Unknown's Brain Killers take the A with two chest-pressing rave bombs. "Screwface" lives up to its name with surging euphoric chords, slamming amens and melodic percussive riffs while "Jungle Love" takes us back to the roots of the genre with minimal breaks and guttural toasting. Flip for a seminal jungle soul cut from 3rd Party bossman Family Of Intelligence as "Champion Of Champions" really captured and drove that more restrained sound of the dominant ragga stand at the time. "Bonus Beat #1" closes the 12 the same way it did 24 years ago; rattling percussion, a classic vocal sample and a scat breakdown that was tailored for the bravest of DJs. 3rd Party on dudes.

Stand By 4 Fast Beats (5:14)
Drop (KZ1 remix) (5:47)
Review: Reissue! Brent Newitt's Vinyl Fanatiks has become a key player in the reload game as they continue to excavate pivotal pieces of wax from the 90s in order to preserve the foundations and make sure the stories of the often over-looked early artists are told. 3rd Rail is a great example; the brainchild of Bournemouth's Ben James - he only released this one record on Delirious in 1992 before getting on with his life.... Only to realise that almost 30 years later, the OG copies of "Look No Further" have been known to fetch over L200! Although you would be better off with this crisp, remastered version instead. With all four tracks, including the original remixes from KZ1, this is a fitting reload of 3rd Rail's short-but-powerfully formed legacy. Watch out for those 4x4s on "Stand By 4 Fast Beats". Woof!

Cassette_ A (4:46)
Review: Since founding UVB-76, Ruffhouse, Gremlinz and close allies such as Overlook, Pessimist and Clarity have taken us to some unfathomably deep and extraordinary places, rising the label's reputation as one of the most explorative and experimental imprints in the 170 game with every release. Now they hit new heights as an unnamed collective. Any or all of the label artists could be behind any given 4625 production. A multi-tendrilled hive mind that has potential to take us even deeper into the unknown, they make their statement clear across this four track debut; the live drum rawness of "Non-Citizen", the submarine electroid jolts and spasms of "Proles", Loxy-level 3am stepper business "The Barrens" and the ambient / textural homage to the MC on "Cassette A". 4625 thumbs up.

Sedition (6:32)
Crown Of Nails (6:26)
Review: One year later, UVB-76's shadowy collective 4 6 2 5 strike again with two more unique startling schematics. Flexing across the tempo axis, "Sedition" leads with a fast 170 twist as hard pneumatic kicks cut through the dense foggy atmospherics before doubling up the momentum and taking unpredictable twists midway. "Crown Of Nails" maintains the hunchback pressure and that heavy foreboding sense synonymous with each member of the collective, but does so at a cool 105BPM pace giving space for each percussive element to ricochet around your purdy little pranged-out soul.

Your Only (feat Phoebe White) (5:34)
Review:  London jungle collective 4am Kru only debut back in 2021 but soon got plenty of attention. Now they are back with another vinyl EP that showcases their punchy sound. 'King Konger' is a high energy drum work out but with some pensive chords softening the edges, 'High Time' is a jostling and body-popping workout with restless drums and plunging bass. Then '4AMK3'picks it up with some grimy bars over the top of a tight, kinetic and prickly beat and 'Your Only' (feat Phoebe White) is a more silky and thoughtful soulful roller.

What Is Jungle (feat Phoebe White) (4:21)
Stay Puffed (5:15)
It's Alright, Baby (5:28)
Samantha (5:18)
Review: 4AM Kru are just great aren't they. Carrying the tongue-in-cheek essence of jungle in these 4 extended mixes which include an Alison Wonderland 'High' sample in 'Stay Puffed', as well as a vocal sample of someone ripping into jungle over the massive amen break in 'What is Jungle?' - if you like the Massive amen break, this EP is for you. The relatively new London-based jungle crew have been around only 2 years but have picked up a quick following on Bandcamp, this being the third vinyl EP in the time series, following 'Good Time' and 'High Time', which also features the vocal stylings of Phoebe White. Breakcore and jungle fans have a lot to look forward to from the collective, and this EP is a great way to dip your toes into their sonical water. Jungle is massive (amen break).

Just Saw Johnny (5:20)
I Don't Wanna Stop (5:02)
Review: Bristolian drum n' bass collective 4am Kru is a recent founding, owing to jungle's 'never say die' popularity in the city. Following up a strict vinyl-only release style, the kru's latest EP 'Lost Time' as ever fuses rollicking breaks with soulful samples and cheeky spinbacks, curveballing the d&b equivalent of technosoul while miring everything else into a nice crunch. These sonic speculations on the junglist retrofuture are nevertheless all you need to lay down a solid party for the present.

Hurt Me No More (extended mix) (6:03)
Review: Stamina crew represent - the 4AM Kru are back with more of their life-affirming jungle workouts for the tail end of the night when the ravers need a little extra juice. This is their fifth drop on Embrace The Real, and once again they've done a bang up job of bringing some fresh ideas to a classic approach. 'Nobody Else' does wonders with a sample which sounds like it could belong to 80s soul diva Stephanie Mills, bringing a powerful dose of melody into the mix before cutting into needlepoint drum funk. '4AMK4' is a relatively chill roller, while 'Fire Is Our Friend' dices up jazzy breaks at a mean clip and dances nimbly on top of the subs and 'Hurt Me No More' swerves directly towards hardcore euphoria, pianos n' all.

Earshots (extended mix) (4:32)
Review: Sir Hiss and 4AM Kru set up a dialogue between London and Bristol, a stellar dialectic giving rise to a supreme form of lo-fi jungle. 'Earshots' samples a bhangra vocal cry, mixing it up with the scratchy factory movements of cut-throat jungular breaks. It marks a break from Sir Hiss' usual grime parlance, and adds to a refreshingly-named new series handled by their parent label Embrace The Real, called 'No More Mailouts', an explicit callout of PR in the electronic music industry which aims to lead by example. Power to em.

Before You Go (4:16)
Review: Fresh from her Med School missions, Moscow's A.Fruit maintains the leftfield beat heat with another savage session, this time on Om Unit's evergreen Cosmic Bridge. "Make Them Shake" is a loopy ghetto/technoid mutant barbed with all manner of strange squelchy textures while "Polykarp" flips the motion sensors with a surprise drop into iced soul chords and skippy breaks. Meanwhile on the B we're struck with more beguiling gold: with its jazzy chords and pneumatic kicks "Deep Insight" stalks like a cat but punches like a bear while "Before You Go" brings us home on more of a mystic, percussive spacious trip. Crucial through and through, neither A.Fruit or Cosmic Bridge are messing around here.

Review: Adam Shelton returns to his breaks/electro alias A-Future once again with "No Era". Taking off where the launch release "Cybernetic" left us, it's another tense rolling jam that nods back to the very foundations but with added 2020 production punch. Think Tim Wright jamming with Ed DMX and you're on the right path. Remix-wise Alex Jann lays down a pacier, more layered set of rhythm logistics while mysterious alias Secret Universe closes with an authentic jungle reversion, imagine Tim Reaper in a chilled mode and you're on the right star-path.

Review: A Sides and Sun And Bass go together like gin and tonic. The perfect, long-standing tradition between an OG and the true mother of D&B gatherings, once again their connection levels up with this crucial quartet. "Arctic" (with Fats, another certy SAB soldier) hits the spot instantly. Sweeping, emotional and super soulful, it's yet another precision collab from the pair. Deeper into the wax we hit dubby rolling gold on "Follower", get bouncy in the jazzy depths of "Need" and get torn to pieces on the moody halftime steps and warps of "Conscious Dub". High grade as always from all concerned.

Review: It's been a while since we liaised with the Kniteforce camp, but since a new generation of music lovers has reignited interest in the hardier and ravier edges of UK hardcore and drum n' bass, we're stonked to welcome A-Sides and Nut-E-1 back to the fold; two producers at the pinnacle of this classic label's continuous roster of star artists. Freshly riding the hype of drum-drilling heater 'Underwater Fireworks', Nut-E-1 brings amplified heat on new track 'Tonight', blending Peshay-style, minimal, sciencey breakbeats with a chopped-out djembe slap and 808 pulse. A-Sides rightly holds up the A-side, bringing a synth arp to dreamy elysium via sloshing, chrome breakbeats, in what might truly be a wisecracking head-nod to Bukem's Atlantis.

It's been some time since the legendary imprint let fly with some wax, but they've kicked off the From The Vaults series to go back over some of the most important releases in their massive catalogue and give the most worthy a fresh moment in the sun. Following on from landmark EPs from Chase & Status and Total Science, here's a VA disc featuring absolute devastation from Absolute Zero & Subphonics, gnarly acrobatics from the imperious Noisia and The Upbeats, an icy stalker from Digital and Spirit and classic 'Horn Track' sampling hi-jinx from Gremlinz and Overlook.
