Review: Paradox dons his arctic guise for the second time this year with two more glacial jungle adventures. Following "Venera" and "Criterion" come "Hold On" and "The Vortex". The former is an enchanting vocal cut that wafts with far-away charm over some classically springy breaks while the latter takes us down a darker path with crushing breaks that get coated with layer upon layer of atmospheres, arpeggios and pads. Wrap up warm.

According to label legend, Ego Scene is a very well established producer operating under a secret alias. Names are by the by, the music speaks for itself: "Hold On" is a lush liquid stepper with jazz-tinged keys and a lavish double bassline tickling the groove's underbelly. "Aiden's Tune", meanwhile, is a perfectly executed homage to the formative hardcore days. Powered by nothing by amens and raw emotion, it will have you hugging the nearest person and offering them some water before you know it. Highly limited, everything about this is Horrifically good!
