The Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers Lifeforms SV-1 is a complete dual oscillator synthesizer, designed to be the core of your eurorack modular system. Building on the sound and legacy of our celebrated Waveforms oscillator, the SV-1 module features two full-range independent analog oscillators; sound sources that are perfect for dynamic and inspired performances. In addition to these two high-performance oscillators, we stuffed the SV-1 with a perfectly curated set of modular synthesis tools including dual, chained mixers, a plucky, four stage envelope generator, and of course, our legendary analog state-variable filter.

The Lifeforms SV-1 is a synthesizer powerhouse, providing absolutely everything you need to create gigantic and iconic synth sounds: roaring bass, shimmering leads, lush pads and warm drones are only a few knob turns away. Instantly, out of the box, a rich feature set with a fluid, easy to understand interface empowers you to create vibrant, thick tones. Notes: MANTHER is a full featured, tabletop monosynth with an analogue signal path, an advanced 64-step digital sequencer and onboard delay. The heart of this beast is a coveted CEM 3340 based VCO IC chip. The analogue filter is based on an ssm2044 chip. A modern, semi-modular synthesiser inspired by the instruments designed by our heroes. The Pittsburgh Modular Microvolt 3900 takes a new approach to building a raw, analogue monosynth with a host of unconventional and inspirational features. Patch cables optional.

Creative Synthesis Design:

With our new temperature stabilized, dual VCA oscillator core, the analogue audio engine of the Microvolt 3900 feeds a set of timbral waveshapers crafted for deep harmonic shaping, enabling a layer of additive synthesis alongside the classic subtractive synthesis waveforms. Waveforms are fed into our binary filter, a custom state variable filter architecture offering near infinite resonance with or without self-oscillation. Sonically this creates a juicy, fluid filter adding depth and energy to the oscillator that can scream if you ask it to.

The heart of the Microvolt 3900's sound is our new dynamic VCA technology. Where a standard VCA works in two dimensions, the Microvolt 3900 dynamic VCA technology adds a third dimension. As the dynamic VCA closes, decreasing the amplitude, harmonics are removed from the source. As the dynamic VCA opens, the harmonics are restored. This mimics the behaviour of sounds in nature. The result is a lively, organic sounding synthesiser full of energy. The design of the dynamic VCA also allows the instrument to be plucked or struck, opening up another set of percussive musical possibilities.

Open Electronic Experimentation:

The Microvolt 3900 is patched internally and does not require patch cables to dial in a wide variety of unique and powerful sounds. For deeper experimentation, the Microvolt 3900 includes a 39-point Eurorack format friendly 1/8" jack patchbay for complete signal routing control over a full complement of audio and modulation options. A four-stage envelope generator, multi-purpose function generator, wide range LFO, chaotic random source, arpeggiator, sequencer, and MIDI to CV control are also available to create dynamic sounds unique to the Microvolt 3900.

USB to MIDI to CV converter synth module - 12HP
Notes: Shuttle Control is a 16-channel MIDI/CV interface which can receive USB-MIDI at a number of inputs simultaneously. For instance control signals from a tablet/PC/Mac at the "to device socket" or USB-MIDI-Keyboard or controllers via the "to host" sockets.

As the sockets provide for a +5V voltage you can use them for example for a LED lamp. An editor allows you to create and save up to 16 different mappings which can be recalled directly at the module. Those mappings can be for example 8-voice polyphonic setups with different CV scales (1V/oct, 1.2V/oct ot Hz/V). This makes it possible to use VCOs with different CV scales simultaneously to integrate them in a polyphonic setup. Besides this you can assign LFOs, triggers, Control Changes and random to the outputs.

Additionally the module can be used as a power solution for a small modular system and has an input for an external laptop brick power supply (12-20V). Also it can pass the Eurorack operational voltages via a long ribbon cable with a number of Euro connectors, both male and female sockets.

The note CV and gate signals generated by the MIDI/CV interface can be sent to other modules internally via Doepfer's internal bus. Endorphin.es' own Terminal and Furthrrrr can read their signals so you can create an entire Endorphin.es system easily.

All analog dual filter bank - 42HP
Notes: The FUMANA is an all analog dual filter bank with various control to access dynamically these bands. Each filter bank is composed of an array of 16 independent 48dB/oct bandpass filters. Having two identical filter arrays, allows you to use one of those for spectral analysis (of a modulator signal) and the other for spectral re-synthesis (of the main signal). Each array is sub-grouped in odd and even bands (numbering these increasingly from 1 to 16 from left to right). It is possible to apply different signal to odd and even bands, both for main and/or modulator arrays. This, together with the 16 envelope followers connected to each band of the modulator filterbank, and the 16 VCA connected to each band of the main filterbank, allows the FUMANA to perform a single 16 bands or a dual 8 bands analog spectral transfer.

While the upper section provide access to each main filter's direct output, the lower section has 4 voltage controllable parameters to manage two independent functions for further spectral editing: tilt and parametric scan.

The tilt, as the name suggest, tilts the spectrum, adding and subtracting amplitude to the 16 bands, emphasizing lower or high bands, and attenuating high or lower bands: this is managed only with the green potentiometer.

The parametric scan, instead, works with three parameters: peak/notch, band selector and width. Like in a parametric equalizer, where is possible to set peak/notch gain, frequency and slope, the FUMANA uses three parameters to set which is the centre band to perform this manipulation, then if that band should be emphasized or attenuated, and how this action is extended to nearby bands.

In addition to the 16 bandpass outputs, there are other 4 outputs provided: the all bands output, the all envelope followers output, the odd bands and the even bands output. These two have the options to be inverted in phase with two switches, in order to obtain even more combination when summed together, maybe/also with the "all bands output", using, for example the 333 module.

Since a spectral transfer tool may be used as a "vocoder-like-effect", the FUMANA provides an input for an external noise which may be used for unvoiced (fricative/sibilants) sounds as words containing or starting with s, f, z, ch and other fricative sounds.

Notes: Rossum Electro-Music Software Architect Bob Bliss (who also, as it happens, fathered E-mu's famed "EOS" Emulator Operating System) has created Panharmonium, a unique music and sound design tool that analyses the spectral content of any audio signal and uses that analysis to drive a bank of from 1 to 33 oscillators. Depending on various control settings, Panharmonium can accurately reproduce the input spectrum in real time or modify it in a multitude of wildly creative ways. All with an interface whose immediacy encourages performance and interaction.

Panharmonium input can be anything from a single oscillator to an entire mix (including vocals). From dense, swirling pads and drones that evolve with the input's changing spectrum, to clock-syncable spectral arpeggiation, to as-yet unnamed harmonic effects, Panharmonium opens up an entirely new world of sonic possibilities.

Additionally, Panharmonium can take a snapshot of an instantaneous spectrum and use that as a complex harmonic oscillator, which can then be modified and modulated by all of Panharmonium's other controls.

Panharmonium accomplishes its magic though a combination of functional submodules:

Spectral Analyser:

The Spectral Analyser provides tools for defining the analysis process.

- The Slice parameter sets the rate at which the incoming audio is transformed to spectral data. It can be set by the Slice and Multiplier controls, the Tap button, or by an external clock signal. Very short slice times result in real-time spectral data, while longer times can create rhythmic spectral patterns.
- The Centre Freq and Bandwidth controls (and associated CV inputs and attenuverters) control the range of frequencies to be analysed. The Bandwidth control allows the selection of narrow to wide pass bands on the left side of the pot and narrow to wide notches on the right side of the pot. The ability to sweep the frequency and modify the bandwidth under CV control opens up a wide range of sonic effects.
- The Freeze button lets you freeze the spectral integrator, sustaining the currently analysed spectrum.

Spectral Modifiers:

These controls allow you to creatively modify the analysed spectra.

- The Voice parameter lets you select from 1 to 33 oscillators to resynthesise the spectrum.
- The Blur parameter (and associated CV input) is a spectral lag processor that controls how quickly the spectrum can change.
- The Feedback control (and associated CV input) lets you route the re-synthesised audio back into the entire processing chain for subtle or dramatic feedback effects. At its max, the output becomes self-sustaining, even if the input is removed.

Oscillator Bank:

The Oscillator Bank resynthesises the analysed spectra.

- The Waveform parameter selects the oscillators' waveform. In addition to the usual sine, triangle, sawtooth and pulse waveforms, two special crossfading sine and sawtooth waveforms are included.
- The Freq control lets you tune the oscillators over a +/-7 semitone range. The frequency is further controlled by the 1V/Oct input and the FM input and attenuverter.
- The Octave control, not surprisingly, shifts the pitch of the output by octaves.
- The Glide parameter sets the amount of polyphonic glide (i.e., each oscillator has its own glide circuit).
- The Mix control (and associated CV input) sets the balance between the original input audio and the resynthesised audio.

Optional Functions:

A number of optional functions can be selected by using the Output Mode and Tap buttons.

- Holding the Output Mode button and adjusting the Slice control enables Drums Mode, which optimizes the spectral analysis for drums and other percussive inputs.
- Holding the Output Mode button and adjusting the Centre Freq control allows you to instead set the lower frequency of the analysis range.
- Holding the Output Mode button and adjusting the Freq control enables Spectral Warping. In contrast to conventional frequency adjustment, where the harmonic relationships between the spectral elements are preserved, Spectral Warping shifts the harmonic elements individually, producing a variety of clangourous, swarming textures.
- Holding the Tap button and adjusting the Freq control quantizes the resulting frequency adjustments to semitones.

Spectra Memories and Presets:

Panharmonium provides 12 user Spectra memories and 12 user Presets (in addition to 12 each factory memories).

- The Spectra memories let you store up to 12 frozen slices. When selected, a spectrum (up to 33 oscillators wide!) replaces any live input and can have its pitch controlled by the 1V/Oct input and FM controls.
- A Preset is a snapshot of all of the module settings, along with the value of any CVs present at the moment the preset is saved.

Panharmonium is 26HP wide and 25mm deep.

The global look has remained the same, but there have been added several strong functions. To summarize :

The inner electronics have also been adapted to achieve an EVEN BETTER SOUND-QUALITY

What's new?

There are 5 extra switches and 2 extra LEDs, and on the back panel there's one pedal input jack. A reworked front-panel lay-out and the grey metal color.

The pedal input allows foot control of freq1and bypass/effect switching. You can rewire an old wah (because they have a switch on board) as shown by te diagram in 'extra stuff'.

A 3-way switch on the input stage allows Hi boost as well Hi cut (both boosting high frequencies at input)
Another 3-way switch allows "Sensitrig" (which makes the triggering twice as sensitive for, e.g. clean string pad filtering) and "Limit", which leaves the filters more "breathing room" for self-oscillation if the input stage is extremely overdriven.
A 3-way switch has 2 general transpose functions : +1 Octave and + Quint which works nice with monophonic signals, and has a specific dirty character.
A 3-way switch for the really powerful and quite revolutionary "Tracking" function - a monophonic pitch follower, that tunes filter 2 to the incoming pitch, and makes filter 1 slave of filter 2 via the harmonics switch. E.g. in position 2, filter 1 will be pitched one octave higher than filter 2, but still following the pitch. This extra switch activates the "tracking" in a normal or deep "track low" position, with stunning basses as result.

The "revolutionary" aspect of this function is that never before any similar system enhances "on the spot" harmonics and creates new harmonics with fat analog circuits.
An extra white LED indicates when the tracking system is "locked on".
At last there is an 3-way function switch in the LFO section, allowing sawtooth wave shape OR AR retrig : this forces an LFO restart from the AR trig with pumping grooves as unavoidable result. If you want to receive a new brochure, please ask your dealer first.

The Sherman Filterbank is now also midi controlable via kenton control freaks (a small portable hardware console, including sliders)

Operational safety:
The entire internal construction is elastically mounted to attenuate any structure borne noise that could interfere with the TLM 103's operation. Furthermore the capsule is set on an elastic mount. The Sinfonion comprises of three independent quantizer channels, a four-note chord generator, an arpeggiator and a complex progression sequencer in one. Thanks to a vast array of buttons and knobs placed around a sharp OLED display, it is easy to use and come up with musical ideas.

The Sinfonion is meant to be the control centre of your modular system.

With a total of 8 pitch outputs, 4 gate outputs, 11 CV inputs and 9 gate inputs, it offers a large number of controls. Its plethora of buttons make it an actual instrument you can play. Furthermore, the Sinfonion features an expansion port to add modules and expand functionality in the future.

The three quantizer channels provide direct access to harmonic scale notes via dedicated buttons per channel (Root, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th). The buttons are made for jamming, controlling the sequences on the go. A fast processor allows quantization times below 1ms.

A chord section generates four pitch outputs, allowing to create four-voiced chords. It offers a lot of options directly accessible from the front panel. Thanks to dedicated knobs for pitch and spread, buttons for selecting the notes chord inversion and optional slew, you can get the chord you are looking for in no time.

All these sections are under control of the Chord Progression Sequencer. It is the brain of the Sinfonion and is operated easily thanks to the display. Notes: The Dual State Variable VCF consists of two multimode filters with high-pass, band-pass, notch and low-pass outputs. The circuits feature an edge steepness of -12 dB per octave. Notes: We are proud to present our newest workpiece: The ACL Multifunction Discrete VCO combines a massive single saw tooth core with a strong sub oscillator - each of them with its individual wave shaper. As usual, we didn't spare any effort to bring you the best quality - from the inside right to the outside.

The module comes with saw, inverted saw, PW rectangle, triangle and sine - all important waveforms of a proper modular unit are featured. We constructed all signal paths in fully discrete design up to the outputs - but it is much more to it than just a clone of a classical VCO:

If you play with the linear detune, it is possible to create awesome "beating effects" between two or more VCOs. The direct relation between the linear detune and VCO response makes it possible to use the same frequency at every pitch - for an atmospheric, rich and alive sound.

If you play the VCO in LFO mode, the module enables to control the speed in the same way as in VCO mode. If you leave V/Oct CV, you can generate very long lasting sweeps.

Another strong feature are the big syncing capabilities: Adjust the sync amount manually or via CV between the range of sync and no sync - and surf through variable degrees from soft to hard sync.

The core should sync to all repeatable waveforms - approximately exceeding 1 V pp - but in case sync wave is important for some applications, it is possible to choose between falling and rising edge sync in order to hold the proper phase relation between the syncing and the synced wave.

The Gate Input gives you the option to reset the VCO core at the beginning of every note. This feature is highly recommended for the creation of bass and percussion patches if every attack should sound equal and systematic at each time the notes are played. The Gate Input can be used as hard-sync input as well, even in the same time with the Sync input.

You are free to modulate both the oscillator and sub oscillator rectangle wave pulse widths through their separate PWM Ins and PW pots.

On top of this, you also have the possibility to choose between different PWM "carrier" waves to change the PWM-behaviour: Rising and Falling Sawtooth will create an unsymmetrical PWM, while Triangle will create a very musical sounding symmetrical PWM.

Analogue Sequencer:
Three channels of 16 steps, each providing true analogue CV outputs. These run in parallel. Total pattern length can be changed, or the pattern reset.

Gate Outs:
Gate output, with an inverted 'flipped' output (positive voltage, but the 'state' is inverted. So this output does the opposite of the main Gate output).

Voltage Generator:
Six 'note' interval voltage generator keyboard. Use to transpose the sequence, reset, start and other things too! Can be clocked by the End Pulse creating a mini-sequence that changes once per bar. Can be used independently as a mini keyboard!

Voltage Controlled Internal Clock:
The internal clock is analogue using an analogue LFO. Speed can be changed using CV. The sequencer can also be clocked using a MIDI note or even using an external clock signal from a modular.

The Multi-Delay Processor is a creatively usable echo effect with eight taps. The module's sound may remind you of classic bucket-brigade devices. - It even generates distinctive pitch effects when altering the delay time. An input mixer gives audio material a crisp, analogue character. Thanks to feedback channels with pitch shifter and reverb processor, shimmering echoes and other atmospheric effects can be achieved. A total of nine envelope followers and 14 audio outputs invite you to do extensive feedback patches and other edgy experiments.

The Multi-Delay Processor isn't just a high-quality echo effect but was designed to be a fundamental ingredient of patches. Its core is a bank of eight digital delays, which are wired in series. Together, the circuits form a multi-tap echo. The volume of each signal repetition as well as the raw material can be adjusted via faders. Furthermore, there are individual audio and envelope follower CV outputs for the dry signal and all taps. An analogue clock is used to control the echo circuits. The delay time can be set manually via a potentiometer plus there are two CV inputs with bipolar attenuators. Altering the delay time parameter during operation leads to pitch effects. At this point at latest, you'll realize the superiority of the serial memory design used by Mark Verbos over average effect chips. Despite its digital core, the Multi-Delay Processor offers charming sound reminiscent of a classic bucket-brigade device. - Only cleaner and more transparent.

A three-channel mixer with dedicated level potentiometers adds analogue character to signals before they are fed to the delay circuits. Without patch cables plucked into the second and / or third input, you can use these channels as feedback paths with additional effects. In detail, a pitch shifter calibrated to +1 octave (channel 2) and a reverb (channel 3) are available. - A perfect setup for creating shimmering echoes and other atmospheric effects. High feedback values make the module self-oscillate. In contrast to the multi-tap delay, which consists of individual components, an FV-1 chip is used for pitch shifting and reverberation. This processor is well-known, as it is the main component of multi-effects modules like the Erica Black Hole DSP and numerous guitar pedals. Here, the FV-1 is "just" a creative addition to the main effect.

In addition to the manual mix output, which emits the mixture of raw and effect material dialled in via the faders, there are four other audio outs. Two of these connectors provide signals derived from summing up all even respectively odd taps. The other sockets emit preset mixes with increasing or decreasing level. - Very cool for quickly creating special effects.

The Mini Horse from Verbos Electronics GmbH is a multi-dimensional touch activated voltage controller. At 42HP wide and ultra thin, it can be added to a synthesizer system either inside the Eurorack or out front in the forthcoming Black Box extra low profile powered enclosure. Twelve keys run across the front, each with its own Gate out, Pressure out and Position out. In addition to the individual keys' outputs the master section presents the parameters of which key was last pressed in addition to a tuneable from the knob behind the key and a "Fixed" voltage, spanning from 0-10v across the keys from left to right. Position outs have memory of their position when last touched, allowing the user to draw a mix across the keys when connected to voltage controlled mixers as in the Harmonic Oscillator or Bark Filter Processor.

Why Do I need this synth? What's So Special?

CLA10 is Avantone Pro's keenly reworked take on the classic Yamaha NS10M design known from recording studios around the world. The speaker's role is to highlight shortcomings from any mix to appropriate the sound for consumer listening devices such as TVs, radios and in-ear headphones.

The CLA10s are not the easiest of speakers to listen to. They provide a mid-heavy, almost fatiguing sound with limited bass shelving and can, at times, sound clinical to the point of chilliness. However, the benefits of mixing with CLA10s for engineers who stick with them are bountiful, such that if a mix can be made to sound pleasing on this speaker it is almost guaranteed to translate well whatever system the track is played on thereafter.

Avantone Pro took every measure in the design of the CLA10 to physically and sonically match the frequency response, resonance and power of the classic NS10M. The tweeter dome uses the same phenolic resin doping technique to match the original performance curve, whereas the woofer is composed of the same original pulp - sourced from the same original manufacturer. Crossover network capacitors are also set at the same value, and the MDF chassis matches the resonance of the original NS10 exactly.

To ensure uniformity across each new CLA10, Avantone opted for a machine-pressed technique for the AV10LHF woofer (in place of the lapped seam design). Also, whilst the capacitors have been carefully matched, higher quality components for the crossover have been selected for increased life. The speaker's banana plugs have also been upgraded to ensure extra stability and longer-term guarantee.
