ALM Eurorack cases are available in a range of sizes all including an integrated powered bus boards.

The cases all feature anodised aluminium construction, an on/off switch, rubber feet, and high quality switched powered bus boards with numerous keyed headers and ample power capacity.

These are simple and compact Eurorack cases, perfect for small, focused systems, taking along on travels, or as a tabletop addition to a larger setup.

Cases are available in 4 sizes; 3U 84HP / 6U 84HP / 3U 52HP / 6U 52HP sizes. They all offer 1 Amp on both the -12V and +12V rails per row.

Great modern cases

The ALM powered Eurorack case was originally designed for the System Coupe. Wider interest has seen it evolve into a range of different sized cases being made available by themselves.

A fixed solid bus board provides quality ample power and plentiful keyed power connectors. The shielded DC/DC power converter is low noise and includes overload and short circuit protection. Fixed, quality mounting rails are used over sometimes frustrating sliding nuts. The case has a great looking all anodised aluminium construction that is both strong and light.

The case proportions are designed to look great on a table or desk (not too deep, just enough) and also be easy to fit in a bag and transport.

Decksaver case covers are available currently for the 3U/84HP, 6U/52HP, and 6U/84HP cases.

Notes: The D-ENV is a 10hp Eurorack Envelope Generator with the addition of Delay and Hold functions for gates. As a "utility-effect" of sorts, it allows for delayed dynamics, which can provide more spacial or dimensional sounds within many configurations, including drum beat delays, or part of an echoic soundscape. Exponential envelope generator (ADSR/AR) with independent delayed gate/trigger processing (up to 1 second), and delay-hold (up to 1 second).

Delayed Gate/Trigger can be routed internally at the push of a switch, and is "OR'd" with any income gates or triggers entering the envelope generator's gate and trigger input jacks.

Delayed gates only accept new gate signals once the entire Delay and Hold cycles are complete. Delay cycle starts once a signal at the D-G IN jack is received (rising edge -or- positive-going). Both the Delay and Hold cycles are minimum 12 ms, and maximum 1050 ms, each, and are sequenced from Delay to Hold.

Accelerated Transient Response Delivers the Knockout Punch:
It takes huge pulses of energy (current and voltage) to propel a woofer cone out fast enough to match a bass beat. That's called Transient Response and it's the holy grail of amp design. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely high slew rates and optimizing other proprietary parts of our circuitry, our amps are able to react instantly to even the most demanding electronic bass impulses. If the woofers in your PA system can keep up, your audience will hear a tighter, crisper, more natural sound. Instead of operating relatively continuously like most power amps, the EPQ2000 features rail tracking for effectively modulating the power supply rails with only the peaks of the input signal. When combined with switching-mode power supplies that do away with heavy toroid transformers, our new designs provide more dynamic punch and, since they are so much more efficient, run cooler and don't require huge, heavy heat sinks.

Sublimely Simple Operation:
The front panel controls and indicators provide your system's vital signs at a glance. After pressing the Power button, the Power LED lights to show the amp is ready for action. All channels feature positive-detent Gain controls with Signal LEDs that light when a signal is present, as well as Clip LEDs to indicate when the signal is distorted and you need to reduce the input signal. Just as elegant as the front, the rear panel is home to the balanced XLR, 14 " TRS, and unbalanced 14 " TS and RCA connections. Take your pick of professional locking speaker Outputs or touch-proof binding posts to securely connect speakers. The same panel contains the switches that put the EPQ2000 in Mono, Stereo (two channel mode) or mono Bridge mode. Flick the Limiter On/Off switch to activate the built-in overload protection.

In order to achieve this perfect combination of sound quality and appearance, the Turbo series enclosures were designed as a non-regular hexagon. After careful calculation and experiment, we found that the non-regular hexagonal structure is most effective in minimising standing waves inside the enclosure. We chose high quality MDF for the enclosure to not only damp out unwanted resonances, but to ensure a solid and inert structure to mount our drivers to. All internal surfaces are lined with blended wool to further damp the structure of the cabinet.

Using high quality pure silk from Europe for the tweeters, the patented dome shape perfectly articulates the high frequencies out past 20 kHz. It is designed to have a low resonance (for a low crossover point) but also high power handling.

Using patented technology from the Aviation industry, the PP carbon fiber / ceramic composite cone for the woofer provides a perfect balance between strength and weight. This lightweight yet strong cone ensures an extremely fast transient response from bass notes all the way through to the midrange.

The custom made amplifier design uses only professional grade multi layer PC boards (compared with the single sided PC boards used in other speakers). This ensures that the circuitry and components have better reliability and better performance, which in the end means higher fidelity sound.

Notes: cDVCA or class-D VCA is a new kind of VCA based on an entirely novel concept that is inspired from class-D amplification technology. This is not a transparent VCA and brings a lot of character to the sound.

The first VCA that tracks 1V/oct

Concept: The input signal is turned into an ultrasonic PWM signal (~34kHz). The PWM is scaled to the desired amplitude and then filtered back down to the original signal.

The twist: The PWM frequency can be lowered down into the audio spectrum and the frequency can be controlled via its 1V/oct input allowing for crazy waveshaping that tracks your melodies.

The drive controls an innovative clipping method that does not rely on overdriving any circuitry and therefore results in distortions with a very defined character.

The signal then goes into a 1 pole VCF/tone circuit that allows to keep things under some amount of control as the harmonics produced by this module can be very aggressive.

With no input the module generates a simple square wave and therefore can be used a simple synth voice (VCO->VCA-VCF)

Loose Fruit is a new kind of waveshaper, more accurately, it's two waveshapers and a crossfader combined in one module to give you an arsenal of tonal possibilities. The input audio is processed by inverting it specific points - a little like a 'hard sync'. In this manner harmonics are created - not just regular 'infra' harmonics but also rich subharmonics - yes, the Loose Fruit adds bass.

Each waveshaper features 10 preset patterns which seamlessly fade into each other via the state control knob or the CV control. The resulting audio is mixed together by the crossfader. The three sub sections - waveshaper 1, waveshaper 2 and the crossfader - are normalled together but can also used independently of each other.

Notes: This has two LFOs, each with variable waveshape from Saw to Triangle to Ramp waveforms, or variable Pulse width on the Square wave output. LFO 1 has the addition of a low range and a Sync input. The nominal maximum frequency of the LFOs when in Triangle shape is 20Hz, but under certain combinations of settings they will go much higher, well into audio range.

Also included is a DC coupled VCA, the input of the VCA is normalised to the output of LFO 2, so a 0 to +5V input to the VCA CV input gives control of the LFO waveform amplitude. It can also be used as a stand alone VCA.

This module is very useful for controllers such as the Waldorf KB37 where the modulation wheel gives out 0 to +5V, this can be routed to the VCA CV module so the level of the modulation waveform can be easily controlled. This makes it very easy to add VCO vibrato or filter 'wah' with control of modulation amount from the modulation wheel or other controller.

Folding waves, space, time & laundry?

West Pest utilizes a custom wave folder to shape the sound. It adds additional dimensions to West Pest's already unique sounding oscillator core.

A wave folder shapes sounds differently than a filter. Instead of removing harmonics, the wave folder increases the harmonic content of the oscillator by folding the wave in on itself to create sonically rich waveforms.

West Pest's wave folder takes what traditional wave folding circuits have done for years and ups the ante, allowing the user to fold previously unfoldable waveforms.

Notes: Messor is a stereo compressor with lots of tricks up its sleeves. From gluing a mix together to squashing drums, sidechaining kicks and sculpting transients.

It's a VCA based feed-forward compressor with a high quality low noise signal path. The magic happens in the internal sidechain that shapes the gain reduction envelope.

There are the familiar controls of a compressor, attack, release, threshold, ratio and makeup gain, as well as a switchable high-pass / low-pass sidechain filter.

The ratio can go past limiting and into over-compression, which can completely reshape transients, a great tool for sound design.

Being modular, of course there are CV inputs for Attack, Release and the Filter cutoff.

The Gain CV controls the makeup gain, but also doubles as a Stereo VCA with the Gain knob off.

The gain reduction envelope is also available, for turning filters or other VCA's into compressors for example.

There's a bypass switch, and another Warm/Pure switch, that can bring in a bit of additional saturation and compression in the form of analog tube simulation circuitry.

Lastly there's the possibility to insert an external sidechain, for that classic kick sidechain compression.

With tap tempo and a versatile subdivision knob, you have all of your rhythmic proclivities on board and easy to get. We loaded the tap function into the standard footswitch so it won't eat too much pedalboard space.

Just hold down the footswitch for two seconds, light turns green, and you can tap the tempo you want.

After that, use the Subdivision knob to give your tremolo the right rhythmic stutter, befitting the situation.

Trim the Surf with TonePrint:

Using the mini toggle switch you can unlock a wealth of chilled-out TonePrints from our local tribe of tone surfers.

Using TonePrint Editor will fold out the Pipeline like a toolbox of tremolo.

For example, you can mix two different tremolo pulses for super gnarly and eccentric curve shapes.
Each pulse can have its own individual shape, speed and phase.

This makes it possible to emulate the classic light bulb based opto-tremolos, like the Shin Ei Univibe, with its "double dip"-shaped waves.

The Keeley Electronics Super Rodent is a 4-in-1 pedal that gives you two well-known distortion circuits and two brand new sounds by way of the toggle switches! Tone Control

If the Tone Switch is up and in the SD Position you have an active low pass filter and more bass and treble frequencies are available.

Diode Clipping

Hard or Soft Clipping: The Super Rodent gives you both styles of diode clipping. Diodes are used to create hard clipping distortions or smooth overdrive sounds. If the Clipping Switch is in the RT Position it features Hard Diode Clipping which is an edgier, more aggressive tone. When the Clipping Switch is in the SD Position that uses Soft Diode Clipping, like a softly overdriven tube amplifier.

Buffered and True Bypass

Notes: AJH Synth have had quite a few requests for a variant of MiniMod contour generator with Release added to the envelope so that it is full ADSR but still with the characteristics of the Model D - so this is what they have done!

The DH-ADSR is exactly the same circuit as the original Model D envelope and therefore features the same contour shape and retrigger behaviour, but with the addition of a release control. However, they have also added a pulse delay and pulse stretch circuit, along with a re-trigger facility (both of these can be switched out of circuit so that the envelope is a simple ADSR unit).

The addition of pulse stretching and retrigger makes it into an LFO module and it can perform in a similar way to the EMS Synthi A and VCS3 Trapezoid generator, with a variable delay between each trigger and a variable "on" time - however it can also have full ADSR envelope on each retrigger too!

Notable Features:

- PREDELAY - This control determines how long (up to 10 seconds) the start of the envelope is held off, after a gate is received. This ability to delay the onset of the envelope is especially useful when used in conjunction with a standard ADSR: With both envelopes receiving the gate simultaneously complex envelopes can be produced as the DH-ADSR only starts running through its stages after the standard ADSR has completed. Once their outputs are mixed together in a mixer a single evolving envelope with multiple stages is produced!

- Use of the bipolar mixer found in the MINIMOD CV MIX-OFFSET-VCA module can enhance this technique even further, with more precise control over the polarity/offset of the envelope mix possible. Using the VCA of this module could allow for external modulation over either/both of the signals. It goes on...

- HOLD - When in Del-Hold mode (switch down) the HOLD control determines the gate length applied to the envelope, and thus controlling its length/overall shape. When the switch is up, normal ADSR action is produced.

- RETRIG - In this mode the DH-ADSR becomes an LFO, which can mimic the "Trapezoid" function of the vintage EMS designs. HOLD controls the length of the trapezoid shape, and PREDELAY allows for adjustable gaps between each repeat of the shape produced.to an LFO module and it can perform in a similar way to the EMS Synthi A and VCS3 Trapezoid generator, with a variable delay between each trigger and a variable "on" time - however it can also have full ADSR envelope on each retrigger too!

Notes: This Box of Rock simulates Zachary's favorite amp turned up all the way, a 1966 Marshall JTM45. The tone control adjusts brightness and there's a high-headroom low-noise boost.

Notes: The goal in creating the ZIO Analog Front End + Boost was simple yet ambitious: "Make Everything Sound Better!" ZIO is an all-analogue preamp/boost pedal that includes a choice of four distinct preamp circuits, each with up to +20dB of additional output boost. ZIO is Source Audio's first all-analogue effects pedal and designed in collaboration with Christopher Venter, the owner and sole engineer at SHOE Pedals.

ZIO is a deceptively flexible unit that can serve many different purposes at various places in your signal path. Use it at the front of your chain of effects to shape the rest of your outgoing tone, after your drive pedals as an overall tone sweetener or clean volume boost, or at the the end of your pedalboard to drive a long cable run or as a restorative device to recreate the sound of your guitar going directly into the input of your amplifier. You can also use the ZIO in your amp's effects loop if you want to drive your power amp even harder, or to compensate for a level mismatch between two channels.

"The Better Box"

The word "ZIO" is an acronym for Impedance ("Z" is the electrical symbol for impedance), Input ("I"), and Output ("O"). The pedal is designed to take a guitar's high impedance signal, sweeten the tone with any of its four preamp circuits, and output a strong, low impedance signal that won't be altered by the buffered dry tones of effect pedals further down the signal chain. High fidelity, noise-free Burr-Brown op amps help give ZIO extreme clarity and responsive pick dynamics, while maintaining ideal body and warmth. ZIO has four distinct preamp circuits. JFET offers a completely transparent signal boost with zero colouring or distortion. LOW-CUT reduces "tubby" bottom-end for a tighter sound with added headroom. STUDIO finds inspiration from the time-honoured "Pultec Trick," a studio technique that adds clarity by cutting the "mud frequencies" and adding mid-range articulation. E-PLEX captures the focused and subtle grit of the preamps found in vintage Echoplex Tape Delay units. The ZIO's TONE toggle offers three different levels of capacitance (or simulated cable length) to brighten or darken the tone.

JFET

This preamp mode is similar in character and behaviour to a clean tube amp input with very low distortion. Using high quality JFET Input Burr Brown OP Amps, this mode is transparent and will not add any harshness or excessive brightness. JFET mode is also very helpful in a studio or home recording environment for delivering a more natural sound to the DI or line inputs found on many pieces of studio equipment. Due to its design, JFET mode can also interface with lower impedance line inputs without excessive loss of bass content.

LOW-CUT

The LOW-CUT mode is designed to remove excessive low frequency rumble and build-up that makes it more difficult to get guitars (and sometimes basses!) to sit well in a mix. The LOW-CUT preamp has no impact on the low midrange or presence frequencies, and, instead, reduces the "low lows" to improve headroom and provide a tighter sound. This is especially useful on guitar neck pickups, some basses, synths, and any other sound that may be too "boomy" and overpowering in a live or studio mix.

STUDIO

STUDIO mode is based on a pair of popular studio mixing tricks used on guitar and bass. It combines an EQ curve based on the famous "Pultec Trick" (used on records since the 1950s and still today) in combination with other tried and true methods to improve clarity. This mode provides a low mid cut to remove "mud" frequencies, a gentle presence boost in the upper midrange, and a natural-sounding high pass filter, to reduce low frequency rumble. With this mode, you can achieve a more "polished" sound that is intended to fit guitars and basses more clearly in a mix. Without all of that extra bass and mud, you also will gain more volume in the most useful frequencies. This mode works very well after fuzz and overdrive pedals for tone shaping as well!

E-PLEX

A recreation of the feel, character, and frequency response of a classic early 1970s tape echo unit, the E-PLEX mode offers a vintage-style FET buffer/boost tone that is warm, clear, and a little bit dirty. Many players used to turn off the echo on these old units and simply use the dry preamp for its tone and feel as an always-on effect. In the original units, the output impedance was quite high, and this led to a high frequency roll off with long cable runs. This was difficult to control, but also part of the unit's top end character.

Notes: KNOBI is a multi-tool able to mix, attenuate, invert, display and multiply any kind of signal.

Knobi can serve a wide range of purposes - not only to pass butter - and this is true thanks to its internal signal path that makes use of some of the most useful building blocks of analog synthesis: a 4-channel mixer, a three-range offset, an attenuverter, a fixed manual gate and lastly a cascading multiple derived from the output stage of Agogo.

a, b, c and d are Knobi's inputs while r is a fixed 5v reference output. The toggle switch next to d sets the range of the offset - the big knob below the meter. Connect a signal into one of the inputs to visualize its voltage value in the three digits meter. Keep in mind that this reading happens post offset and attenuverter - the smaller knob with (-) and (+) indications.

The pushbutton next to x4 adds a gate of 5v to the mix: with no input connected it will act as a manual gate output. Autopatch the r reference output into one of the inputs to use Knobi as a macro controller thanks the offset knob and switch to set the range and the attenuverter.

x1, x2, x3 and x4 are all cascading copies of the final signal path. Plugging a cable will break the normalization and the multiplication will reset starting from the next output. Four cables plugged in will output a copy at the same factor x1 - unity gain - making Knobi a versatile buffered multiple.

Clever four-channel utility module designed to make it easier to achieve perfect oscillator tracking and transpose CV signals. Also includes some neat quantising and portamento features.

The CalTrans solves issues encountered when playing tonal music with a modular system: tracking problems, curves unrelated to Volt per octave ratio, limited octave range, cumbersome transpose, ...

The CalTrans corrects and expands the range of troublesome VCOs and brings V/Oct tracking to anything that oscillates.

Besides calibration, the CalTrans offers live play features. Each channel can be quantized and any combination of them transposed jointly.

A pair of rotary encoders with detent allow an precise selection of octaves and semitones.

VCOs whose tracking doesn't go high enough to follow the leader will see their pitch repositioned in their highest possible octave so that the global harmony is unaffected.

You can add a pinch of portamento and glissando to each channel and save the whole in user presets.

Firmware 1.17 offers:
